Show f Millard County Chronicle Thursday, October 10, 1968 ASC County Committee Election Today The county convention where farmer-chosen delegates will elect farmers to fill vacancies on the Millard County Agricultural Stabilization Stabili-zation and Conservation (ASC) Committee will be held October 10, 1908, at 10:00 a.m., according to Evan Anderson, Chairman, ASC County Committee, The convention will be open to th nuhlic. However, onlv farmer- delegates to the convention may participate in the election process. Election Is by secret ballot. The delegates to the county convention con-vention are the newly elected community com-munity committeemen for each community. The delegates and communities they represent are as follows: Community A, Oak City, Lynndyl, and Leamington-Floyd Bradfield, Grant L. Finlinson, Monte C. Niel-son. Niel-son. Community B, Sutherland, Abraham John DeLapp, Theodnre Clark, Lon Jackson. Community C, Gandy, Garrison, Burbank-Ladd Davies, Carl J. Dearden, Chester 0. Wheeler. Community D, Delta, South Tract-Clayton Tract-Clayton Jeffery, C. Frank Baker, Richard M. Gardner. Community E, Hinckley-Carl Hardy, Charles E. Crafts, Gaylen Cropper. Community F, Oasis, Deseret-Waldo J. Black, Phil Eliason, Keith Moody. Community G, Scipio, Holden-Alan M. Mathews, John J. Stephenson, Richard C. Thatcher. Community II, Fillmore, Flowell-Newel Flowell-Newel H. Mitchell, Howard E. Tomkinson, Levar Peterson, Community I, Kanosh, Meadow-Virge Meadow-Virge Christensen, Theron Swallow, Swal-low, Leland Bushnell. County Committeemen ere elected elect-ed for 3-year staggered terms, and the service of each county committeeman commit-teeman Is limited to three consecutive consecu-tive terms. The present county committeemen consists of J. Evan Anderson, Chairman, Austin Lovell, Vice-Chairman, and Jack Monroe, Member. The term of Jack Monroe expires this year. Each year the convention also elects a first and second alternate committeeman, each for a 1-yenr term. ASC counly and community committeemen com-mitteemen are in charge of the local administration of such form-action form-action programs as the Agricultural Conservation Program, the Crop land Adjustment Program, the Feed Grain Program, the Wheat Program, the Wheat Program, Acreage Allot ments, the National Wool Program, the Sugar Program, Commodity Price-Support Loans, and Storage Faciility Loans, Mr. Anderson urges all ASC farmer-delegates to bo sure to attend the county convention. Every person In the area who lilies to sing Is invited to Join the group as it prepares for another musical treat for the Christmas holidays. There is no charge to join but singers will bo asked to purchase their own copies of "The Messiah". Copies are $1.50 each. Approximately thirty-five area singers presented ten selections from "The Messiah" during last holiday season, under the auspices of Delta Lady Lins. The "Screen News Digest" begins its 11th year of presenting living history in the classroom with a gripping and timely documentary on the invasion of Czechoslovakia. "Communism in Conflict The Death of a Dream" examines Czechoslovakia's centuries - old struggle for self-determination and of the Varsaw Pact nations that crushed her dream of "democrati zation". The "Screen News Digest", which hs been cited twice by the Freedoms Free-doms Foundation for its "outstanding "outstand-ing contribution to a better understanding under-standing of the American way of life," is presented monthly to schools in this area without charge as a public service by UP&L. Mr. Hadley said hat at least two of th's yoa-'s films will he in color. One of the co'.o- f'lr.-.s s.v. '.-uled '.-uled for release in February, will chronicle the primary campaigning to inaugaration day. The film will provide an in-depth examination of the executive branch, a look at former presidents and a behind-the-scenes tour of the chief executives' living and working quarters in the White House.
