Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Dutson took their little daughter, Peggy Sue, to Salt Lake for a checkup. She has recently spent six days in the hospital hos-pital with ear trouble and pneumonia. pneu-monia. She is better now. Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson went to St. George where they worked in the temple two sessions, then attended at-tended the funeral of Earl Church, a friend and relative. Mr.. Church was the husband of Eliza Lyman Church. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Dalton and family of Ogden visited a few days with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Roper. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Sheriff and their brother and sister-in-law vis't ede at Oak City Friday morning. I met them at the cemetery and visited. vis-ited. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Lovell returned return-ed from Blanding Sunday (Mother's (Moth-er's Day) where Bruce had been attending a meeting. Mrs. LeRoy (Martha) Anderson was rushed to Salt Lake Friday for emergency treatment for her eye. A Sixth Grade graduation program pro-gram was held Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Stanton and children of Provo visited Mr. and Mrs Max Cox Saturday and Sunday. Sun-day. Mrs. Stantonis a sister of Max. Mr. Ivan Shipley has been sick again but is on the improve. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Shipley and children of Salt Lake visited his mother, Mrs. May Shipley Sunday. Mrs. Orpha Bigelow and children of Salt Lake visited her mother, Mrs. Helen Anderson. Helen returned return-ed to Salt Lake to visit a few days with Orpha. Mr. and Mrs. Orin Finlinson of Payson visited over the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Finlinson. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Nielson and family spent the weekend at Idaho Falls where they attended the wedding and reception for their son Crandr.ll and new bride. A bridal shower was given in honor of Miss Rachel Dutson by Miss Dixie Dutson at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Dutson. She received re-ceived many lovely gifts and a good time was had by all who attended. at-tended. Prizes were won by Mrs. Afton Dutson, Rebecca Jacobson and Macel Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Anderson of Lindon visited Saturday and Sunday Sun-day with relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Waldrup and family were speakers at Sacrament meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Waldrup had their parents visiting over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Lovell have the children of Mr. and Mrs. Brent Lovell staying with them while Brent and Lewsene take a trip to Atlanta, Georgia. ABRAHAM MRS. AFTON FULLMER I've still got Mother's Day news I didn't get last week. Walter and Lola Stoneking received re-ceived Mother's Day greetings from Mrs. Lora Chaplin of Carlsbad, Calif. Lois' husband, Don, has his leg in a cast for six months, thru an accident in his work. They re-cevied re-cevied cards from their other children, child-ren, Carl and Helen Marie and they spent the day with Lola's mother, Mrs. Rose Webb. Mrs. Erma Petersen had her family home to a family dinner, Colona Bennett and family of Hol-den, Hol-den, daughter, Lorraine Adams and family (with new baby boy) and son Warren and new wife, Patricia Smithers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. G. Caywood of Pagosa Springs, Colo. The bride has been working at the Daily Herald in Provo and attending night school classes at BYU. The bride and groom met at an LDS sociable in Orem. We wish the young couple much happiness. The Petersens plan to reside in Abraham for the summer where they are farming. LeeRay Talbot and wife and baby have come back from South Carolina and want to make Utah their home. WEST MILLARD CO-OP DELTA, Hinckley ELAINE HARDY Last week, Aaron Evans (Mary Ellen Cropper Evans' husband) was injured In a fail from a scaffold he was working on here. He was taken to West Millard Hospital where it was determined he had a back injury. He was transferred to a hospital in Salt Lake and then sfiit to the hospital In American Fork, where they live. Erma went up with Mary Ellen and has been there since. We send wishes to Aaron for a speedy recovery. Arthur Reeve has returned to Salt Lake where he lives with his son, Rex, after being at his home here for a few weeks. While he was here he got his lot all cleaned up and looking so nice. Mrs. Anna Lee Hepworth entertained enter-tained the Rookette Club at her home last Monday evening. Supper was served to members and the following guests: Belva Morris, Ar-villa Ar-villa Swensen, Bernice Palmer, Alta Wamiek- and Cherrle Morris. Cards were played later. Mrs. Vi Robinson returned to her home here last Monday after spend ing the past few weeks in Cedar. Nels Petersen has gone to Ariz, to bring his family up. I reported last week they were here already, but Nels and his little boy came up first and new he has gone back to bring them this week. Alma Western, receovering from surgery at West Millard Hospital, is reported as doing fine. Mrs Mavis Hardy's Fourth Grade has had a very interesting project of leather-craft. Last week, Ru'.on and Lucilla Hinckley, of Salt Lake, former residents, resi-dents, were here for the Alumni Banquet. With them was their son and his wife. I'd like to express very sincere sympathy to the Stanworth family this week at the passing of their father, husband, son-Max. Ted Spendlove, son of the Blaine in the Army. Des-eret. Mr. and Mrs. Fay Carter of San Jose, Calif., visited Garland and Phyllis Johnson last Wednesday. Jay and Luena Fullmer and family fam-ily drove to Cherry Creek to meet Sandi and Tracy and see the motor cycle races Sunday. They met the Dave Poulsen family. They said there was sure a good crowd out there. Both canals are filled to the brim with irrigation streams. The Wilson ditch has been de-mossed and filled again. Verl Tolbert and wife, Judy, and two children wore in from Ely over the weekend. Verl helped his father irrigate. Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton (Bob's parents) came in their trailer this week. We also have a family from Idaho parked by Harold Petersen's and working for Mr. Ellsworth. We are so happy to have these new people coming in. Abraham needs a pickup. Wanda Lee Tolbert and husband and baby spent Mother's Day here with the Sherman Tolberts. They also attended Nancy Munster Brush's wedding Saturday night. Mrs. Mark Herron has been visiting visit-ing her mother In Rexburg, Idaho for a week. She went up to spend Mother's Day with her. She returned return-ed home Sunday. The Gale Bennett family attended attend-ed the horse races in Magna on the weekend. Lowell Petersen and Grant Hardy went to see them last Saturday. Stacl Taylor had her tonsils out this past week and is doing just fine. Beverly and Ray Bishop were here this past week. Ray is home on leave from the service andwas able to attend the 6th grade Promotional Pro-motional Exercises held last Thurs day at which his brother, Bruce, was graduating and was also the Master of Ceremonies for the evening's eve-ning's program. Mrs. Margaret Roper has been at Betty Jane's home this week. She has been helping with the family some while Betty has been in the store. Mrs. LaFay Corey has returned home after a stay of the past few weeks in Las Vegas with her daughter, dau-ghter, Margo and family. Margo brought her home Saturday. The Bishopric members and Relief Re-lief Society presidency were in Nephi last Tuesday to attend n meeting. One day last week, Mrs. Mavis Hardy's fourth grade class climaxed climax-ed a recent study of Millard County and Hinckley by making a tour of the places they had been studying. The twelve fourth graders, Mrs. Hardy, room-mother Mrs. Cherrie Morris went on a bus driven by Mrs. Fay Davis They first went to Cove Fort.then to Fillmore. Here they were shown thru, the Court House and Museum. In the Court House they were shown the different differ-ent offices, the duties of the workers work-ers explained, etc. The students had their lunch in Fillmore before returning home to Hinckley. Linda Lue and Steve Searle and two boys, Clay and Russell returned return-ed to their home in Kansas City, Kansas, Monday after visiting with the Lynn Taibots this week. Mrs. Thelma Butters (grandmother), (grand-mother), Mrs. Sandra Atchinson and Mrs. Betty Wilde (aunts) all of Kamas attended the 6th grade Promotional Exercises Thursday evening to see Cindy Simpson, daughter dau-ghter of the Tom Simpsons graduate. gradu-ate. They returned to their home after the exercises. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Theobald attended at-tended a World War I convention at the Hotel Newhouse Friday and Saturday in Salt Lake. They came home Sunday. Marion Manwell was here from Provo this week at the Carl Theo-ibald Theo-ibald home helping with the farm I work. Carl has had to recuperate some after his accident recently. I Mrs. Evelyn Morris had most of j her children home to honor her on j Mother's Day, Gary and Connie i and little girl and Sherry and Leon Lewis and children all of Salt Lake, .Joe and Larry and families were ' all at her home Sunday. She also i received calls from her son, Sid, of Virginia and her daughter, Dorothy. OASIS - RUBY SKEEM Vera Steven and children were down from Salt Lake to keep dental den-tal appointments. Fon and Stella Hawley spent last Sunday in Bountiful with their children. Nayon Young of Ely visited with her sister, Stella Hawley. Amy Brinkerhoff left Monday to return to Beaver. She has been visiting with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Howell. Their daughter, Norma Watts, in Calif, called them Saturday Satur-day to report that she isimproving. Delene and I spent Friday and Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Stan-ley Bradfield and Evelyn at Mid-vale. Mid-vale. Evelyn graduates this week from high school. Scott Rowley is being transferred from Costa Rico to Honduras this week. Scott is an LDS missionary and from our ward. Steven and Coleen Rowley were home from BYU this weekend. Steven Willouuhby gave sacrament sacra-ment meeting Sunday. He will leave "soon for his mission. Saturday Satur-day evening he was honored at a sock and hankie shower. Our sympathy goes to Dunne and Ha Stanworth and their family and to Pat and Sherrie. We all will remember re-member Max growing up in our ward. Janet Pearson and Cindy came home on the train Sunday. We had all our family home with us on Saturday, May 11. Don and Lois of Farniington, Kent and Rayma of Salt Lake, Jay a"0 in da o.i Mr nnd Mrs. . ,, John Blackburn of Grantsville. The Blackburns and Jay alio attended the graveside services in Delta for little Boyd Gavin, age 2, who arown ed in Grantsville. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Eatough and girls spent Mother's Day in Salt Lake with Mrs. Kate Hayes and other members of their family. Delbert Carrington, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Carrington was home on furlough last week. He is now stationed in Fort Lewis, Wash. Sunday (Mother's Day) Alan and Carol Nielson had as dinner guests Mr. and Mrs. Clead Nielson, Kit Stewart and Ken Lamb.both BYU students, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Payne and three children of Nephi. Mr. Payne is the Regional Coordi-ator Coordi-ator of the Indian Placement program pro-gram for the v LDS Church. They spent a very enjoyable afternoon visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Junior (Enla) Baird and children of Richfield spent Mother's Day with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Wilkins. At the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lile Johnson for Mother's Day was Connie and Bernell Talbot and children of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Tillman Johnson and children of Sutherland. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Overson for Mother's Day were their sons, Kieth of Provo and Eugene and family of Sandy. May 10 Mr. and Mrs. Louis Over-son Over-son went to Pleasant Grove to the wedding reception of Mr. and Mrs. Monty Banks. Last week Mr. Bob Pendray of Orem had dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Nielson. Bob spent Thursday and Friday in Delta supervising the construction of the first home in his planned subdivision. subdivi-sion. Jeanette Schwab of Ely, Nev. was here Friday visiting with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Overson. Roger Talbot, son of Mrs. Jean Talbot is in the Utah Valley Hospital Hos-pital recovering from accidental gunshot wounds. He and two companions com-panions were out hunting, a week ago Sunday. His shotgun discharg- ed, shooting him in the hand and,Jurgens ; of Calif, visited over night shoulder. He is doing as well as possible. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Overson and children of Provo visited at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Overson last Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Carpenter of Hinckley and Norma and. Boyd Byrd visited at the Lawrence Bradfield Brad-field home last Wednesday afternoon. after-noon. Mr. and Mrs. Loran Crowther of Fountain Green visited at the Keith Nielson home last Thursday. Renae Simpson, LaWrene Bradfield, Brad-field, Sandy Benson and Judy Nielson Niel-son went to Cedar May 11 to participate par-ticipate in the music festival. Phillis Nielson, Dena Harder and LaWrene Bradfield went with the Delta High School Traveling Assembly. As-sembly. They went to Milford, Fillmore Fill-more and Beaver. Monday, May, 13, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bradfield received word from Jay that his 8 year old son, Tw'-i was in the Primary Child-vens Child-vens Hospital in Salt Lake with a severe case of diabetes. He will be hospitalized for at least two weeks while tests are made to determine his diet and the amount of medication medica-tion he will need. It certainly knock ed the props out from under us, but we hope they will be able to control it and that he can live a normal, happy life. Thursday, Lawrence and I went to Salt Lake to see our grandson, Thayne, who is in the hospital. He is a happy little fellow. Friday he had an orange and a hypodermic needle learning to give shots. By now he should be able to give him self the shots he will need to control con-trol the diabetes. He will also learn the foods he can have and the foods he must leave alone and! what to do when he has a reaction. I They really teach them young.' That is a beautiful hospital and you see so many little crippled andl sick children, it certainly makes one appreciate when they have healthy children. While in Salt Lake we staved with Kent and Rayma Hughes. Sunday was ward Conference m the Lynndyl Ward. Pres. Moody, Frank Lvman, and clerks, Ned Church nnd Ferrin Lovell were here They all gave very inspirational talks. They were accompanied by their wifes. Dean Eatough was released re-leased as First Councilor in the bishopric, Howard Nieleson was sus tained as First Councilor and Keith Nielson as Second Councilor to Bishop Ben Stephenson. School will soon be out. Many from here attended the Baccalaureate Baccalaure-ate exercises Sunday. Mr. James of the BYU, was an outstanding speak er and the A Cappella Choir did real well. Mr. and Mrs. Don Bradfield came downto baccalaureate exercises. Carol Denitsosie will leave Friday evening for Blanding. Saigarvillc VENICE DAVIS Dean and Arlene Housekeeper of Provo and Retha and Clifford Sheriff of Sandv, visited Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Oliver, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Losee, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Losee and Bishop and Mrs. Roy Losee. They lived here years ago. Lela Rodabough visited with Choral and Sharon Clark and families fam-ilies and gave the Sepha Robison Citizenship award at the high school. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Jenson made a trip to Zions National Park for a visit with Phyllis Thursday and Friday. Fri-day. Phyllis is working at Zions Inn as cashier. Mr. and Mrs. Val Sorenson and small son of Bountiful visited over the weekend with parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jensen and family. Mr. and Mrs.. Chas. (Colene) with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frelen Shurtz on their way to Denver, Den-ver, Colo, and will stop again on their way back. Lois Greene received word from Jerome, Idaho, of the death of Elmer El-mer Greene, 76 years old. He was an early resident of Sugarville for a good many years. He will be mourned by a large group of relatives rela-tives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hastings of Cedar visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Losee and family. We were happy to have them home also Beverly Shurtz was home over the weekend. Sunday night the program was given by Reid Tippetts and wife, Mary. We sure enjoyed their visit and ask them to come again soon. Henrietta Barben enjoyed her 9Gth birthday Friday, May 17th Mr. and Mrs. Ross Searle and daul ghter, Ruby Brown of Salt Lake visited her Friday and Saturday. Many friends and relatives called on her during the day with cards and gifts. She had numerous phone calls, etc. We wish her many more years of good health and happiness Also Mr. and Mrs. Burton Van Wagoner and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Probst (nieces) of Midway visited her on her birthday. The music festival of the Relief Society was a lovely affair and our booth and "The Kinfolk" were very good and we were proud of them. First 7ard Hews JUDY ANN STONEKING Visiting with Veva Dekker last Monday were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Swain (Veva's mother) of Ely, Nev. Mrs. Nancy Church and children returned last Sunday after visiting several days in Calif, with her sister, sis-ter, Linda and family and in Las Vegas. Congratulations to Lexianne and Ray Hutchinson, Jr. of Provo on the birth of their baby girl bom Thursday, Thurs-day, May 16. Proud grandparents for the first time are Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Merrell. Just a few more days of school left. Bet the kids can't wait til its out. Mr. and Mrs. Georee Bliss. Larrv Bliss of Cedar and girl friend, Jan Phillips of Eureka visited Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ralph F. Stoneking and son, Todd. We're glad to hear that no one was seriously hurt in all the accidents acci-dents that took place in our area over the weekend. Mrs. Rose E.Webb received word from her oldest granddaughter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lucian (Florence) Ide, that Mr. and Mrs. Norris W. Johnson and family were going thru the Carlston LDS Temple Tem-ple in Canada on May 18. Norris and Luella Johnson and family are living in Great Falls, Mont Norris is stationed at the Air Force Base and has served more than 18 years in the Air Force. Mrs. Rose E. Webb heard from all of her children with letters, cards and gifts on Mother's Day and Lola and Walter Stoneking spent Mother's Day visiting with Clarence and her. Mrs. Norma Wright just returned from Wash, after visiting three weeks with Dr. and Mrs. Don (Barbara) (Bar-bara) Morgan and four children. Dr. Morgan Is president of Big Bend Junior College. Mrs. Carrie Black returned home recently after visiting several weeks in Salt Lake with her sisters. She is feeling much better now. Please contact me with your Chronicle news.
