Cattlemen's Ass'si Meeis I Millard County Cattlemen Association As-sociation met at the County Oi'ficjs in Delia Feb. 19, 19G8. One of the highlights of the meeting was a visit from the Millard Mil-lard County Commissioners who 1 discussed taxation with the Cattle men. The cattlemen ask the com-misioners com-misioners why the asset value of personal property such as machinery machin-ery and livestock was increising. They pointed out that although there has been no mill levy increase in-crease 19fiS taxes will be higher because of this increased evaluation. evalua-tion. As an example one piece or machinery is evaluated about 33 more in 19G8 than in 1967. If the evaluation were the same as one year ago it would still be an increase because of a year's depreciation de-preciation on the machinery. The commissioners were very sympathetic with the cattlemen and said they were doing all they could to hold taxes as low as possible. poss-ible. The cattlemen expressed their support and appreciation to the commissioners and thanked them for the good job they are doing in Millard County. The Weed Control Program was also discussed with the commissioners. commis-sioners. The cattlemen ask to have the commissioners strengthen the program to help eradicate areas not being controlled which are a source of contamination for those who are trying to keep their frams clean.
