Nov. 8, their oldest son, Kay of West Jordan, was killed in a construction cave in. Funeral services were held in West Jordan Saturday. Those attending from here besides the family were Bishop Ben Stephenson, Iouis Over son, Margie Great house, Cora Car-rington, Car-rington, Mina Overson and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Nielson. He is recover Ing from a fractured leg. Mrs. Barbara Anderson and child ren of Oak City spent Sunday at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Wilkins. Mrs. Lucille Overson and son, Keith, went to St. George Saturday to the wedding and reception of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Crygla. Friday evening the Relief Society held their bazaar a large crowd attended, at-tended, a delicious dinner was .ser ved. Many articles were sold, Stake visitor was Mrs. Uulh Talbot accom panied by her husband from Hinckley. Hin-ckley. Lawrence and I spent his last week of vacation visiting our chil-ren. chil-ren. We were in Black Rock with Don, Lois and boys Wednesday nite. Friday night we went to Grantsvill. and stayed with Jay, Rose and boys Saturday we went into Salt I.ake and stayed overnight with Kent and Rayma. Then back home Sunday Sun-day and back to work Monday. Its nice to have all our kids back in Utah so we can see them more often. . The program in church Sunday evening was given by High Council man Merlin Christensen of Delta. Talks were given by Judy Nielson, Greg Greathouse, Bishop Stephen son and Mr, Christensen. Jean Tal bot sang a vocal solo and Scott and Jerry Christensen sang. Visitors at church were Mrs. Christensen and children, Mr. and Mrs. Don Bishop. It was a wonderful meeting. High Councilman Phil Nielson went to Deseret Sunday evening. He was accompanied by Robert Nielson, Mrs. Nielson and daughters Pam and Phillis and LaWrene Brad field. Talks were given by both Phil and Robert Nielson, LaWrene sang a solo accompanied by Phillis. Mr. and Mrs. William Overson are visiting in Salt Lake. The MIA Program "Let It Rain'" was very interesting. Those partici pating from here were Sandra Ben son, LaWrene Bradfield and Dar-lene Dar-lene Overson. Utah 4 Ui WEAR 1 The election returns were interesting inter-esting this time. We were voting for two new town board members. The results were as follows: Will- !iam Dutson, 62;; Marion Anderson, 50; Glen Christensen, 50; and Reece Finlinson, 42. 103 votes were cast. Looks like we got three eouncilmen or another election. Mr. and Mrs. LaMar Anderson were visiting their folks at pheasant phea-sant hunting time and LaMar took sick and was taken to the Utah Valley Hospital where he has been the past week. His parents drove to Provo Wednesdav and Friday to visit him. They report he was some better on Friday. We hope he continues con-tinues to improve. Mrs. Helen Anderson spent the past week at Salt Lake with her son, Newell, and wife. Newell has been ill the past two weeks and she has been taking care of him. May he have a speedy recovery and best wishes to you, Newell. The Young Married women were entertained at the home of Mrs. Afton Dutson in honor of Mrs. Ra-nae Ra-nae Christensen at a baby shower. Games were played and refresh ments were served. Afton Dutson and Vee Lovell were hostesses. A Young Marrieds group held a party it the cultural hall Saturday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Johnson who are leaving soon. Mr. Johnson has employment at Alaska and Mrs. Johnson and the children will make their home at American Fork at present. We have enjoyed having the Johnson family in our town and sorry to have them leave. Hostesses were Aneita Anderson and Erma Nielson. Lt.Col. and Mrs. J. LeRoy Walker and familv of Orem visited his folks Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Walker Saturday Satur-day evening. He has just come in from Ely, Nev. and was on his way to Orem. Was nice to have them call. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Morris and family of Hinckley visited their mother Mrs. Margaret Roper Sunday Sun-day afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Anderson were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wright and family of Delta Sunday. They are the parents of Mrs. (Helen) Wright. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Lovell and family spent the weekend at St. George visiting their sister, Merlene and Don Schmutz and family. They attended the St. George Temple on Saturday to help celebrate their wedding anniversary. Sunday they attended church with Mr. and Mrs. Sshmutz ft Trimble, Ariz., where Don was a Stake High Council visit or. They report having had a lovely time and returned home Sunday night. Mrs. Macel Anderson went with Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Mace and Joe of Deseret to Ogden Saturday to hear the "Weber State Concert Singers" at the Clearfield High School, which was a lovely concert. Jim Mace and Paul Anderson are members of the male chorus which was featured on the program. Mr. Barry Anderson and Karl Fin linson were home from Snow College Coll-ege over the weekend visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Christian An derson and Mr; and Mrs. Dwain Finlinson. Mr. andd Mrs. Meldon Anderson ond children are visiting at McGill, Nev. for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Anderson are in Salt Lake where Mrs. Ander son (Donna) will have her hand op erated on. She has had it broken twice this summer and needs some special surgery to get it repaired. Success to you, Donna. Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Anderson and Mar garet Roper attended the World War I Veterans Banquet at Hinck ley Saturday evening. Mrs. Viola Walker attended a "Daughters of the Pioneers" meet ing at Fillmore Thursday and also visited her san, Ben Trimble, and family. Mrs. Cathrine Walton and Miss Wilna Wixom of Salt Lake were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Dutson. Miss Rachel Dutson of Provo visited Sunday with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Emery Dutson. Mr. Ralph McCall visited Saturday Satur-day and Sunday with Ardean Anderson. An-derson. High Councilman Lincoln Eliason and Mrs. Eliason were the speakers at Sacrament meeting and gave some very timely and interesting talks. Their daughter, Julia, played a piano solo. We really enjoy having hav-ing them come. Shellie Memmott was so proud to start school Monday a.m. as a little four-year-old. Mr. and Mrs. Berdell Memmott and family went to Salt Lake last week to spend Sunday with his mother. Leo Day was transferred to St. Mark's Hospital Friday from the West Millard Hospital. Hope he will soon be back running the store. Lt. Dale McCormick visited at our place Thursday. He was home on leave from Texas. He returned Fri day. His folks, Mr. and Mrs. Tom McCormick and John drove him to Hill Air Force Base. Miss Sherrie Howell is home from Calif, where she spent two months with her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Peterson. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Young and Danny of Ely, Nev. spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Fonroy Haw ley. Richard and Maralee Ohran of Provo flew down and spent the day with the family. Mr. and Mrs. Don Bradfield and son, Grant, spent the weekend in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Stanworth, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Stanworth and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stanworth went to Meadow last Monday to attend the funeral services for Angus Stewart. Dahl and Bonnie Powell and chil dren visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ted Stanworth and Mr. and Mrs. Deon Gilen. They live in Granger. Mrs. Ethel Stanworth spent the weekend with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Abbott in American Fork. She went that far with Mrs. Ila Stanworth. Ila went on to Ogden Og-den where she visited with Mr. and Mrs. Steven Pearson and in Salt Lake with Mr. and Mrs. David Stnr worth. I would' like to send our sympathy sym-pathy to Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Over-son Over-son and family. Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton McCull-ough McCull-ough and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Thomas Tho-mas visited in Washington, Utah, with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neilson and family. They went to see their granddaughter, Connie Neilson be baptized and also to celebrate little Russell Neilson's birthday. They also al-so visited Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stewart. Then they went on to Las Vegas to visit Mr. Dean Sampson who is still hospitalized from an auto accident ac-cident of over a month ago. But report re-port he is getting along much better bet-ter and is in hopes of being released relea-sed soon. Mr. Doug Taylor and fiancee, Diane Poulton and Leslie Poulton visited with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Taylor. Doug baptized his brother, Dean while home. Doug and Diane were in a car accident earlier this past month but are both fine now. Mr. and Mrs. Walt Forster, Karen and Paul, visited with Mrs. Ila For ster and Mr. and Mrs. Neil Forster. They returned to their home in Roy Sunday. Mrs. Ila Forster went back with them to visit with her other children in that area. Mr. Ken Morrison of Provo visited , with his aunt, Mrs. Al Willden and cousins. I Mr. Al Willden and son, Darrell, j made a trip to Grants, New Mexico, i on business. I Mr. and Mrs. John Daly II and . their five children stopped by to say hello. The ocassion was very special. They were showing their new son. He's the first boy ofter four daughters, and is John Daly the third. He is a great grandson of Mrs. Sarah McCullough and a grandson of Mr. John Daly and the late Clairenda Daly. Mr. and Mrs. Bud Day and son of Cedar visited with Mrs. Betty Beau-lieu Beau-lieu and family Sunday. Mrs. Gladyse Taylor spent the weekend in Nephi visiting her child ren, Mr. and Mrs. Ned Sperry and getting acquainted with her new granddaughter. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Ivie are leaving leav-ing Delta Tuesday and will spend the winter in Yarmo, Calif. Mr. Roger Edwards and two sons spent a few davs with Mr. and Mrs. Eb Stapley. LEAMINGTON WANDA NIELSON and gold and the ground was a very colorful carpet of leaves. I guess we just don't appreciate the works of mother nature as much as we should. Sorry to hear about Mr. Will Star ley getting hurt while pheasant hunting. Hope he feels better soon. oi:si:i.i:t ARPRILLA SCOW Mr. and Mrs. Jim Dearden visited Monday and Tuesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Warner. The Deardens were on their way to Ariz where they will spend the winter months. Mr. and Mrs. Wells Rabison are proud grandparents once again. A baby boy was born Nov. 10 to Ro-Ella Ro-Ella and Bill Talbot of Kearns. The young nifn weighed 10 Ms pounds. Congratulations to all. Mrs. Luella Western, daughter, Donna and son, Bruce, .spent Satur day end Sunday at Grace Idaho with Luella's mother, Mrs. Smith. Mrs. Thirza Webb, Mrs. Vernell Baker, Mrs. Inga Black spent Friday Fri-day at Provo. Mr. nnd Mrs. Richard Workman and children of Salt Lake spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Verdon Davis. Mrs. Margaret D. Palmer and daughter, Sharree, spent Saturday at Fish Lake looking after their cabin and interests there. Miss Rawlene Hales of Salt Lake was home over the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hales. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Cropper and son, Rickey, of Deseret and Mr. and Mrs. Ward Stevens of Fillmore spent Sunday at Cedar where they visited with Roger and Gaylyn Davis and daughter, Debbie. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Eliason and their daughters and Mrs. Edna Christensen spent Saturday at Tooele Too-ele and Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Axel Jensen and Mr. and Mrs. Homer Jensen went to Salt Lake Saturday. Mrs. Delores Ogden was hostess on Thursday evening at her home for the Deseret Rook Club. Hope Inez can make this out. Wallace Nielson has been visiting with Bill, Claudine and Theron Neil son for the past few days. Erva Bradfield and Myrtle Nielson Niel-son were in Salt Lake last week for a few days visiting with their sons and families, Dee and Bob. Mrs. Norma Nielson, who is attending at-tending school in Logan and her mother were home over the week end also Dee Ann and her boy friend. Recently I went to Salt Lake and visited my sister-in-law, Mary Anderson, An-derson, who is residing in Calif, now, but was up for a few weeks visiting with her son, family and friends. Mrs. Ida Overson attended the funeral for Fay Overson, son of Clyde and Ila of Lynndyl. The Over sons lived in Leamington for years. Our sympathies go out to his parents par-ents and a'so his wife and family. B:."'.op ?nd Mrs. Rulon Dutson .vent to St. George last Friday and attended the wedding ceremony in the temple for Mr. and Mrs. Lee Grygla, son of Mrs. Clara Johnson. Congratulations and good wishes to the newlyweds. Hattie Anderson also attended. Mr. and Mrs. Bud McCann and children went to Tooele last Sun day and visited with Mr. and Mrs, Will Lovell and family. Mrs. Gladys (Overson) Mantoya of Ogden who had major surgery recently is feeling much better. She also attended the funeral for Fay Overson last Saturday. I went to Salt Lake and brought Gayl and her belongings home. Seems good to have her home now. Roger Nielson is working at the FHA office in Delta. Now I'm on the ball again, please call me in vour news no later than Sunday afternoon or evening. Deer and pheasants were not too plentiful this year but a few did manage to get some. We rode up to the canyon during deer season and the scenery was beautiful. The trees were very beau tiful in colors of red, pink, yellow i Because it's electric, it's better.
