Show Millard County Chronicle AIHSABIAM MRS. AFTON FULLMER The door hunt Is over, and things will soldo down aain. Our family makes it uite on occasion. Looks forward to it all year and ro every year to the same place. This year out of 14 tags, 12 were used and all put on bucks, no does. The hunt inR was surely good out there this year. Guy Sheriff and Steve Gif-ford Gif-ford were in the group and were successful. Rod Fullmer and Steve took their guitars and made the air ring with music. Thacy Fullmor nnd Marilyn Sheriff put on a dancing danc-ing act no one will ever forget. The Corbett family were going to join the group but got lost in the hills and ended up in Judd Creek. There were 12 In their group and filled half the tags. But the ladies did most of the shooting and killed most of the deer, I hear. So much for deer hunt 1967. I went with Luena Fullmer to se the Homecoming parade In Delta Friday it was surely good. Those bands looked and sounded so good. You should take time to go in the Starglow lobby and see the cotton plants In bloom. It was guite a novelty to me. Alva and Sid Young and wife are out to their Tooele county ranch rounding up cattle. Emily is caring for Cecilia's youngsters while she is gone. I'm glad we are back on the old time again, however it takes some getting used to. Mr. and Mrs. Jim (Dixie Lynn) Anderson were here for the hunt also LaVoy Tolbert and son of Tor-rey Tor-rey and the Verl Tolberts of Ely. Please call me your news by Mon day morning. Cleone is back teaching school after being made real sick with a bee sting. Clark and Reva Bliss attended the services in Oak City for Leo Finlinson Saturday, another dear old pioneer gone on. Ferron Bliss married Julia Finlinson. TIIIllll WARD AREA NEWS BEA WILLDEN Mrs. Louise Allen and son, Paul, spent three days in Richfield with Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Ogden and enjoyed the deer hunt with them. Also joining them was Sherida Allen Al-len who came up from CSU. Mr. and Mrs.. Elmer Parrish and son, Robert, returned to their home after a weeks visit with the family of Mrs. Parrish. They had a success ful hunt, both took home nice bucks. Carl Willden and Neil Callister came up from CSU over the weekend. week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Carter and girls spent three days in Delta for the deer hunt and visiting. Stopping at the air port Sunday morning were Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Carter and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Carter. Car-ter. They left their two little girls with Marilyn Willen and flew m to Mexico for a short stay. Returning home from a two year mission in the West Central States was Elder Paul Pace, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elvvin Pace. Visiting for a few days with her family and for the deer hunt was Mrs. Hugh Ivie. She returned to her job Sunday in Yermo, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Kelly spent a few days in Las Vegas where they were met by Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Edwards. They enjoyed a few days and Mrs. Edwards came to Delta for a visit with more of her family. Betty took Mrs. Edwards to the air port where she flew back to her home in Calif. The hunt is about over and I guess things will return back to normal for a few days. Wost Resort ROUNDUP BY SARAH ADAMS We are very sorry to report Mear-na Mear-na Lee has suffered a very severe backset. At the last word we re ceived she was listed in critical condition at a Salt Lake hospital. We do hope she is doing better by now. Vivian (Rusty) Hoffman, son of Russel and Leona Hoffman is back home after a few days in the Primary Pri-mary Hospital with a slight attack of pneumonia. Marie Neilson is back home now and is feeling a lot better now that her hands are not so swollen and sore. Ronald and Wanda Bates are the proud parents of a brand new baby boy. He is their fourth child and the first boy. Congratulations to them all. Sugarville VENICE DAVIS Mr. and Mrs. Leo Davis made a trip to Las Vegas Tuesday return ing Friday. They visited their dau ghter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Clark (Evelyn) Hardy. Miss Phyllis Jenson and girlfriend, Jane Dobson, returned with them from St. George for the Harvest Ball then returned to St. George Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Davis and family of Calif, visited this last week with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Jenson and Jim. Miss Beverly Shurtz also visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Losee and family and attended the Harvest Ball. Chuck Green and his girlfriend, Mary Ellen Jensen of Bear River City, visited his mother, Lois Greene and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Davis. Then made a trip to Salt Lake Monday taking his mother, Lois Greene with them. Mary Ellen is taking her test for beauty school. Sunday night the program was given by Bishop Norman Gardner and Verna, his wife. Talks were given by them about their travels in Europe. Julie Shields gave a piano selection. Everyone enjoyed the meeting and we invite them to come again soon. We had a lovely surprise Sunday The Adamson family visited our Sunday school, Norma Poulson, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Curt (Bernice) Cowan, Mr. and Mrs. John (Bessie) Gray. We were happy to welcome them home (4 Adamson sisters). Ron Oliver came down for the deer hunt with his father, Lorin Oliver, also Larry came up from Cedar. Some have their deers and some haven't and hope to get theirs this week. Reva Losee is over the flu and Venice Davis brought hers from Las Vegas. We wish both of them a speedy recovery. Second Ward Hews EDDYS BARBEN Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Prestwich of Las Vegas visited with the Bert Sorensons Wednesday and Thursday. Thurs-day. They left Thursday for Provo, Salt Lake and Ogdcn to visit more family members. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Bunker for the past two weeks, visiting and deer hunting hunt-ing are Mr. and Mrs.. William Harris, Har-ris, Mr. and Mrs. William Lalovi of Bremerton, Wash, and Mrs. Millie (Chidister) Smith of Dayton, Ohio. Mrs. Smith is a cousin of Lavina Bunker. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Robison and every one of their family met .n Provo Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Douglas Robison to celebrate Douglas's birthday. This is the first time all of their family has been toogether for a long time. They had an enjoyable time together. to-gether. Paul Robison spent the week from Tuesday until Friday visiting his brothers and their families in Salt Lake. CECIL D. LOSEE Oak City News MACEL On Saturday we had a lovely! storm dropping .32 inch of rain to, our thirsty soil. A frosty night fol- lowed dropping the mercury to around 25 degrees. With only two days of the deer hunt left, a lot of men will be out for that last chance to fill their license. Mrs. Margaret Roper had her neice Laura Allred of Pleasant Grove visit a few days. They spent Sunday at Hinckley and Monday at Lehman Caves where they had an enjoyable time. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Walker received re-ceived word of the death of their brother-in-iaw, Francis Stout of Salt Lake, who passed away after a short illness. His wife, Clara, is a sister of LeRoy's. They attended the funeral in Salt Lake Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Finlinson visited a few days in Montana with their son.Kenneth and family. Kenneth is teaching there this win ter. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Lovell and M,s. Florence Lyman of Clinton spont Saturday and Sunday visiting in Oak City and especially to attend at-tend the funeral services of Leo Finlinson. All the memberc of the Leo Fin linson family were in attendance at the funeral and most of the grandchildren except those who are serving as missionaries or are in the service. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Finlinson and family of Mesa, Ariz., and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Atkin and family of Prescott, Ariz., were here for the funeral and spent Sunday visiting and tending to their affairs. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Lyman of Rexburg, Idaho, and Mr. and Mrs. Asael Lyman of Sugar City, Idaho, came especially for the services along with many other friends and relatives. Mrs. Donna Anderson is home again after spending some time in West Millard Hospital as a patient. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Finlinson and family have moved to Phoenix to spent the winter months. It would be nice to enjoy that Arizona sunshine sun-shine for awhile instead of the cold in Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Dutson and children and Miss Rachel Dutson visited over the weekend. Roland has just been put in as counselor of the bishopric in his ward in Salt Lake. Congratulations, Roland. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Roper and Carolyn have been visiting again this weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Larson of New Mexico Mex-ico are visiting their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Chris tensen and getting acquainted with their new little grandson. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth (Colleen) Wilkerson and family of Salt Lake Mr. and Mrs. Glenn (Maurine) Widdison and children and Levern of Ogden and Mr. and Mrs. Don An derson, Jr. of Loa visited Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Don L. Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Newell Anderson and Bryant spent the weekend with their mother, Mrs. Helen Anderson. Mrs. Amy Faust of Salt Lake and Mr. Lenox Finlinson of Provo visited their brothers, Esdras and Marvin and families over the weekend. Miss Hazel Christensen of Salt Lake is spending a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Christensen. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Barben, Colleen Coll-een Stewart and children, Russell and Cindy, spent Sunday in Marys- vale visiting with the Keith Barben family. Mr. andd Mrs. Laurence Bennett rode to Ricfield with the. Baibens and visited with the La-1 Mont Bennett family while the Bar bens were at Marysvale. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Siciliano of Salt Lake visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Finlinson over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Dewsnup and family, Mr. and Mrs. David Finlin son and children arid Mr. and Mrs. Robert Torrens and family were visitors with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Finlinson. They were all here to attend the funeral of their grandfather and spent the weekend visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Shipley and family were here over the weekend. Larry was here a week ago. Mine got wet. Bruce Lovell is making a new ad dition on his home, a car port. It looks real nice, too. Clifton Alldredge h"d another bad day on Friday and was taken to the West Millard Hospital for treat ment. We all sent our best wishes and hope for a speedy recovery. EIRue was home from Cedar to visit the parents, Saturday and Sunday. She is doing quite well even tho she still has her arm in a cast. Hope she will soon be better also. The last report, Cliff wa feeling a little better on Sunday. Mr. Max Bennett an Mr. Steve Noday of Los Angeles called Saturday Satur-day afternoon and stayed Sunday until noon and visited Mr. and Mrs. Emery Dutson. They had been hun ting in Colorado and were on their way back to Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Nielson and family of Manti visited Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Christensen and Mr. and Mrs. Larson, parents of Mrs. Nielson Niel-son and Ranae Christensen. RESERET ARPRILLA SCOW Mr. Parnell Hinckley of Salt Lake visited several days during the week at the home of Lincoln and Cleo Eliason. Mr. Hinckley is Cleo's father. The Primary officers and teachers gave the Primary children a "Hallo ween" party Wednesday. The hall was decorated in Hallooween decor ations. Stories told, program was given after which refreshments were served. ,Cpt. Clyde Waller of Calif, spent the past week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lincoln Cropper. He enjoyed en-joyed the deer hunting with the Cropper family. Mrs. Frances B. Ada was on her way to Las Vegas to meet her husband who had been deer hunting in Southern Utah. She flew back on Thursday to her home at Arlington Texas. Marilyn and Jim Mace of Ogden were home over the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Mace and brother, Joe. Mr. and Mrs. Nash and children of Vernal visited Saturday and Sun day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Black. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dewsnup attended at-tended funeral services at Oak City on Saturday for Leo Finlinson. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Western and children of Sandy visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Western. Wes-tern. The majority of these tax assessments are for $.50 or more. The Millard County Treasurer's office is receiving tax payments which do not also cover the drain-1 age tax, which is bang possibly, overlooked because of the small amount of the tax. She asks that payments of taxes be checked to insure inclusion of this tax in the taxpayer's check. Margie and the Lews went from here to South em Calif, where they visited with Dcnise, Emma Jean, Linda and families. Cheryl came down from San Francisco to join them. They had a wonderful trip. Colleen and husband left for South Dakota last Friday. The Delta Homecoming was h fabulous affair. Congratulations to Phyllis Nielson for being chosen first attendant to the queen. She was so beautiful. In fact all of the girls were. Congratulations also to the seniors on having the prize winning fioat. Well deer season is almost ended. Some were lucky some were not. In our family, seven hunters got seven deer. At our home the past week were Mr. and Mrs. Don Brad-field Brad-field and boys of Black Rock, Mr. and Mrs. Kent Hughes of Salt Lake and Vaughn Hughes of Sandy. Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Peters of Las Vegas spent the week end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Bradfield and in Leamington with Margaret Bradfield. Allen Nielson had the misfortune of being thrown from a horse Mon day evening and broke his leg. Halloween is here, we will all have to beware of ghosts and gob lins, trick or treat, and all such things. I hope the youngsters have a good time. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Wilkins went to Spanish Fork Saturday for medi cal treatments. ' Happy Birthday to Renae Simpson Simp-son and Phyllis Nielson.
