Regardless of mistakes I made, he still saw good in me. And now God keeps him for his own like an everlasting star. A pattern that He cut for us to make us what we are. He gave and gave to all in need never with outward show. He always kept it to himself but God will always know. His democratic friendliness and wit were always there. To guide us patiently when things went wrong. He smoothed each care. He never lectured when we erred nor cringed when things went rife. But taught us with the eloquence of his own daily life. His living code kept him alert, great love prolonged his stay; He grieved not over milk that spilled but strived on, come what may. His faith and interest in mankind man-kind have powered me with their lure; I only wish that God had let him have 200 years and more!"
