Mr. Les Webb received word on Monday that Mr. and Mrs. Gary Webb of Spanish Fork are the happy hap-py parents of a new baby girl born Monday, Jan. 9th at the Utah Valley Val-ley Hospital in Provo. This is the 36th grandchild for Les. Congratulations Congratu-lations to the new parents and grandparents. The little girl will be named Gail Ann. Mrs. Golda Talbot's son Cleone and wife Arlene and family of frovo, spent Sunday with her. The Rookette Club held their Jan. meeting at the home of Mrs. Anna Lou Stanworth, Monday, Jan. 9th. Members present were: Leora Ivie, Anna Lee Hepworth, Shirl Bailey, Dot Spencer, Lyla Rae Morris, Arda Davis, Jeanne Taylor, Mavis Hardy, Lawanna Peterson. Guests were: Margie Moody, Jerri Taylor. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Theobald drove to Provo last week to attend a f am ily gathering and smorgasbord held at a Provo cafe, honoring LaVerne's sistcr-in-law of Salt Lake, Mrs. Mer rill Croft's birthday. Twenty family members attended. Later In the evening, they attended a meeting at which Evelyn Croft, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Evan Croft (brother of LaVerne's) gave her mission report. re-port. She had been in the Eastern Atlantic States Mission, being In Washington, D.C. much of the time. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Talbot spent home on the weekend. Mrs. Angle Cahoon was hostess to the Literary Club when they met at her home on Wednesday of last week. Eleven members were present. pres-ent. Mrs. Golda Taybot gave an in teresting evening's entertainment with an account of the history of the town of Meadow. Golda and others have relatives who were directly dir-ectly connected with the East Mill ard town s settling and growth, which made it very interesting to all. Following this new members for the club for the coming year were picked. Mrs. Angie Cahoon was selected as new president; Mrs. Fannie Lee Hilton will be the secretary. secre-tary. Retiring officiers . are: Mrs. Clara Stewart, president and Mrs. Ruth Talbot, secretary. Light refreshments re-freshments were served. Ernest Mankin and wife visited with Mrs. LaFay Corey for several days last week. They are from Fall on, Nev. Also, Mr. and Mrs. George Young of Nev. are staying with La Fay at the present time. They are in the process of getting settled Mrs. Young is Ernest's mother. Steven Robinson, son of Dorothy and Brooks Robinson, now of Orem, formerly of Delta, spent part of his leave from the Navy, with his grandparents, Nina and Ken Mech-am. Mech-am. Mrs. Chloe Hilton and daughter, Mrs. Birdie Lou Allred, of Salt Lake attended the funeral Wednesday for Nora Bishop. Bobby and Terri Meinhardt of Salt Lake, visited with Grant and Elaine and Sharilyn Hardy Sunday. Bertha and George Barton of Midvale, spent a couple of days in Hinckley to see the Harold Morris and Cluff Talbot families. (Jeanne Pope) Parrish of Kaysville visited with Mr. and Mrs. Niel Forster. Mrs. Alice Gardner attended her brother Victor Isrealson's funeral Friday noon in North Logan. Royal Gardner brought Mrs. Gardner and Kent to Delta Saturday, also Alice's grandson, Keven Manning. Royal Gardner showed films of: Malaysia, Hong Kong and Hawaii Saturday evening to his mother, Carol and Kent and the Whickers. Surely some interesting places and Royal has had some great experiences. exper-iences. We truly enjoyed visiting those lands with him in pictures and hearing about the many friends he has made. Royal is now teach- ing school in Davis County. Mil', and Mrs. Bill Brown of Salt Lake spent the weekend with par OAK CITY MACEL ANDERSON Mrs. Helen Anderson and Mrs Lorna Lovell visited in Salt Lake Wednesday and again on Sunday, Mr. Calvin Dutson entered the St, Marks Hospital on Wednesday where he had surgery on his knee, Vernell drove in Sunday and brou ght him home. He said he was right at home with Lem Lovell In the same room. He also reports tha Arnell Dutson was improving and taken off the critical list there. Calvin is improving and happy to be at home. Lamar Anderson and Jane Rllley were visitors at the Melvin Ander son home on Tuesday and again on Sunday, making plans for their wedding for Jan. 21st. A reception will be held in the Cultural Hall on Saturday, Jan. 21. Mrs. Clara Atkins has spent thi last two weeks caring for her father, fa-ther, Mr. Leo Finlinson who has been spending a month at Cedar with his daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Rymol Williams. The Oak City Scouts and Explor-I ers hosted tho rest of the stake at a party last Tuesday night. Students Glade Anderson and Rachel Dutson from Trade Tech. at Provo, Lane Nielson, Rebecca Jacobson Jac-obson and Sharon Stuart of Cedar and Paul Anderson of Weber State were home for the weekend. Miss Claudia Jacobson visited from Salt Lake with her folks, Mr. and Mrs. Milan Jacobson. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Morris received re-ceived word that a new baby girl had arrived to Mr. and Mrs. Leon (Sherry) Lewis in Salt Lake. The Lewis's have been living in Poca-tello, Poca-tello, Idaho, but are now back in Salt Lake again. The new baby has a brother, Kirk and sister Lisa. Evelyn left Sunday morning to go to Salt Lake to spend a week at the Lewis home and see the new baby. Congratulations to the family. fam-ily. A good crowd attended the meeting meet-ing Friday at the Hinckley Cultural Hall, one at 2:00 p.m. and the other at 7:30 p.m. The afternoon meeting gave information on storage of food, the evening meeting of storage stor-age and use of most other supplies and implements. Those who directed direct-ed the meeting were: Mrs. Flora Bardwell, USU Foods and Nutrition Specialist, Mr. Walsh, Chariman of Food Storage for the LDS General Board in Salt Lake, a member of the Civil Defense Board from USU. They visited Was very interesting, informative, with Reva's mother, Mrs. Lula Gull and helpful and all who attended and her sister and husband, Roma and Howard Bird. Mrs. Emma Lea Taylor and two boys are visiting with her mother, Mrs. Reva Taylor. Emma lea's little boy has spent a week with his grandmother. Mr. and Mrs. Hon Cropper left Monday to go to Calif, for a week's visit. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Ekins and two children have been visiting the George Ekins this weekend. Mrs. Norma Wright, Bil's grandmother spent some time with them. Mrs. Amanda Whicker had a sur prise visit by her brother, Wallace Iverson of Washington, Ut. Mrs. Ila Forster spent a week with her son, Mr. and Mrs. Niel Forster and has returned to Roy for awhile to visit her son, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Forster. Our Bp. Lem Lovell has been in St. Marks Hospital. All three of the Sunday School Superintendency have been on no work list. Cleo Whicker had surgery on both feet, s ys crutches are no fun. Martin Ludwig had surgery on both legs, will soon get the stitches out, Jack Turner has been in St. Marks Hospital Hos-pital for therapy on his back. So glad it wasn't surgery at this time. Sherman Perkins has been 111 with the flu and as Velda is Sunday ( School Secretary we told her we hoped It didn't start a trend fori the wives of the Bp. and Sunday school Supt. to be ill. Another longtime friend and true pioneer has passed away. Mr. .John Wind died Sunday morning. We extend ex-tend our sympathies to his wife and family. One son Dick and Thora lived in Delta Third Ward several years ago. Mava Whicker and roommate Sharon Wilson surprised her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Cleo Whicker Sunday afternoon and returned to studies at BYU that evening. High Counselman Leoyd Lovell brought the program Sunday evening. even-ing. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Christensen spoke and also Mr. Lovell.
