She was hospitalized for 10 days. Hope she can stay well and able to stay home with her family. Mrs. Esther Peterson, Relief Society So-ciety stake visitor from Hinckley, visited in our ward last Tuesday. The ladies quilted a beautiful crib quilt and embroidered dish towels for the bazaar which will be held Dec. 9. A delicious lunch of chili, Crackers, Ice cream and cookies was served to the ladies. Cora Cariington went to Salt Lake Tuesday to the wedding of her son, Delbert. Many people from here attended the funeral services for Wallace Allen last week in Provo. Our sympathy sym-pathy goes out to Mrs. Allen at this time. Bishop and Mrs. Ben Stephenson went to Salt Lake Friday. They visited with Lortine's sister, Delia Nielson. Delia had been in an accident ac-cident and had a fractured shoulder. should-er. It was a severe break and pins had to be put in it to hold it in place. Dick Hayes of Salt Lake, formerly form-erly of Lynndyl, is recovering from back surgery in the Cottonwood Hospital. The Lynndyl Ward Relief Society prepared a turkey dinner Friday evening for World War I veterans. The proceeds went towards the new Seminary building. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bradfield, LaWrene and Joanne went to Sci-pio Sci-pio Saturday, to the golden wedding wed-ding celebration of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Bradfield. . Mr. and Mrs. Norman DeMaltos (Opal Bradfield) of Fallon, Nev., visited with Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bradfield and Margaret Bradfield of Leamington. They went to Scipio Saturday. They left for Fallon Nev. Sunday morning. Margaret Bradfield Brad-field went with them and will visit her children in Nev. until after the Thanksgiving holidays. Eva WhitaUvr Delta Wins Place In Quarter-Final Football Race Delta beat North Summit in the Quarter Final game with a score of 40 - 12. With this win. Delta will travel to Dixie to play Semi-Finals on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 1:00 p.m. North Summit kicked off. Most of the first quarter the ball was pushed push-ed up and down the field. Delta scored first when Stephenson opened open-ed the Rabbit running atack on a 49 yd. sweep. The extra point was blocked. Early in the second quarter Bennett Ben-nett dived over the middle to end a 71 yd. drive. Alldredge kicked the extra point. Two times Delta intercepted inter-cepted passes but was unable to make the needed yardage and kicked. North Summit's only threat to score in the first half came with a pnss play which was driven out of bounds on the 2 yd. line. Delta held them and they were unable to score. The half time score was 13-0. Delta kicked off to start the second sec-ond half.. Alldredge pulled down a IVave pass on the N.S. 43 yd. line. A few plays later Warnick scored on a quarter back keeper from 6 yds. out. The extra point attempt failed. D. Moody intercepted a Brave pass on our 40 yd. line. A pass from Warnick to Turner brought another score. Alldredge sent the ball thru the uprights, to bring the score to 27 - 0. The Braves took the hall on our 33 yd. line and ended the drive successfully on a pass from Simis-ter Simis-ter to Geary. The extra point was blocked. The 3rd period score read 27 - 6. The Braves were the first to score in the fourth quarter. They took the ball on our 4 yd. line after an attempted punt was sent over the kicker's head. Pace rounded the end to score. The extra point attempt was no good. Stephenson carried 4 yds. for a score, ending a 65 yd. drive. Alldredge All-dredge kicked the extra point. C. Talbot intercepted a pass and ran 10 yds. for a T. D. A pass from Jensen to K. Talbot brought the P. A. T. The final score read 40 -12. The Rabbits played a very good game, coming up with 5 interceptions intercep-tions and making no fumbles. relatives. Bennett, former principal of DHS. 1 Mr. Bennett is now employed as , eci 2aCc Fowles ANNA JAYNE ALLDREDGE Outspoken Cheerleader, Anna Jayne, is the daughter of Mervyn and Bernice Alldredge of Oak City. Anna enjoys writing stories and listening to other people's problems. pro-blems. They enjoy telling her because be-cause she cares and is easy to talk with. She's friendly to everyone. every-one. As a sophmore our teen was Harvest Har-vest Ball Attendant and J. V. cheerleader. cheer-leader. In her junior year she was assembly manager and Yearbook Royalty for her class. This year she she reigns as Homecoming attendant. attend-ant. Anna wil take her insatiable curiosity for who's and wherefore's to Trade Tech, where she will become be-come a dental assistant. This energetic miss's sense of humor, down-to-earth philosophy, and guick thinking, make her a valuble member of student council and of Delta High In school she is taking Band, English, seminary, type, psychology family living and cheerleading, Anna's favorite sport is softball. She also likes being a cheerleader because she feels that the sense of responsibility gained planning pep assemblies and keeping "D" spirit high will carry over into her later years. BRENT SKIDMORE Brent, the quick-witted son of Evan and Eleanor Skidmore of Sutherland, plays wing end offense in football this year. He is also interested in various outdoor sports, including horseback riding, water-skiing water-skiing and hunting. This teen has a sense of responsibility respons-ibility which is evident in both scholastic and extra-cunricular activities. act-ivities. A co-chairman of the '66 Homecoming, he added to its success. suc-cess. Being serious in his school work, Brent puts effort and polish into his lessons. His schedule is Engish, trig., shop Chemistry II, seminary, psychology and athletics. Brent has a sociable side: he's fun to be around and has good sense of humor, with just a touch of mischief. By the cluster or friends fri-ends about him it is easy to see why he was vice president of the senior class. Brent's education will be continued contin-ued next year at CSU where he plans to major in economics or accounting. Allen went to Salt Lake Friday afternoon. aft-ernoon. They stayed in Salt Lake with Thelma's mother, Friday night then went on into Logan, Saturday morning. They stayed with David and Arta and boys until Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon (Dora) Bradfield of Scipio celebrated their Golden Wedding last Saturday. Attending At-tending from here were Maggie Bradfield, Mr. and Mrs. rw'.rU Fradfield, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bradfield Brad-field and family and Gordon Nielson. Niel-son. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Esklund of Scipio visited in Leamington and Lynndyl last Sunday with Ruby's brothers, sisters and friends. Mrs. Erva Bradfield is in Henderson, Hend-erson, Nev. this week, visiting with niece, Nadine and Karl Chappcl and family. Itogor and Nvra Nielson have a baby boy, born Nov. 11 in the LDS Hospital in Logan. The little feller makes eight grandchildren for us, The MIA is having a Thanksgiving Thanksgiv-ing dance in the Leamington Hall, Friday, Nov. 25. The orchestra will be "Guys and Gals" from Provo. Mr. Fred Finlinson of Salt Lake was down helping Rich, Saturday. The town purchased the school house from the school board. They had a town meeting Monday night, but n,,i"'lr wfs decided on what to us.e it for; but we'll think of smething. Too nice a building to go to ruin. Lorna Mclntyre ws in Provo Saturday. Marianne took her flying fly-ing lesson while there. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Overson from Cedar City visited with Mrs. Ida Overson and family last Saturday. If I get a few things kinda mixed up for the next while, just bear with me. When Inez's wedding is over I'll come back down to earth. Nan Nielson, Madge Johnson and I went to Salt Lake Wednesday. The pro-Tram pro-Tram consisted of exchange students stu-dents from all parts of the world, who pre now attending BYU. The first number was a dance performed by Gina, a talented Brazilian Bra-zilian pirl. Latci? in the program she also s?ng. Next, Bente from Norway played a beautiful piano arrangement. Bente also was accompanist for all other students on the program. Tu. a South Vietnamese girl, com pr.red life in Viet Nam with life in America and pointed out differences differ-ences in South Vietnamese and American Am-erican schools. Also she told of her military training, a required course for women in heir country. A prominent opera singer from Peru, Rolando, presented the student stu-dent body with two beautiful songs sung in Italian. Last on the program, a student from Finland, Jaakko, who represented repre-sented his country in the World Olympics at Japan, gave an interesting inter-esting account of his experiences dealing with his athletic ability. We wish to thank the exchange students and Mr. Bennett for presenting pre-senting an outstanding performance perform-ance to DHS. OVER the DESK ...of the Principal Nov: 10, 1966, we were happy to be host to the administrators of Region Eight at Delta High School. We had our own Superintendent, Mr. Talmage Taylor, as well as Superintendents from most of the other districts south of Millard County. Problems of regional activity act-ivity meets and basketball schedules sched-ules were discussed. We enjoyed a tasty meal prepared by the kind hands of Pat Johnson and her Home Economic girls. We toured the building and enjoyed en-joyed two musical numbers arrang- The numbers were F. H. A. DEPARTMENT Thursday Nov. 10th, the F.H.A. held a meeting. They made paper mache jewelrv and afterwards received re-ceived the Christmas cards and wrapping paper that they are now selling. The F.H.A., under the direction of the Utah Dental Association Is sponsoring a "Miss Smile" contest. An assembly will be held Dec. 16th a vocal solo by Nancv Ashby accompanied ac-companied by Connie Love.l and a piano solo by Karrol Lyman. Because of the distance to most schools south of Delta and Fillmore the two schools of Millard ' School District are discussing the possibility possi-bility of re-aligning themselves with Region Four to the north. All consideration of how this will affect af-fect our activities should be studied We hve many in our area who support our ball teams and we wish to consider their wishes in this matter. If anyone sees strong disadvantages dis-advantages of Delta's and Fillmore's Fill-more's asking for this change in regional assignment, we would appreciate ap-preciate your comments. On the Line . . . Football se?son is narrowed down and, with two more games we hope to play, Delta stands a good chance of taking state. Throughout the season we have had a great team. Team members agree that the line on the football team has contributed con-tributed a lot to the winning of our games. Holding the other teams back and blocking have been the main jobs of the linemen, and this they have done well. Eleven men make up a football team and ou.r team plays all eleven men. Throughout the year the team has supported Delta High School with honor: showing up at the start of the game with eager enthusiasm en-thusiasm and displaying sportsman ship to the very end of the game. Meeting the Dixie Flyers this coming weekend, Delta's linemen have a hard job to do.
