Miss Neva Cropper of Salt Lake spent several days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Cropper. She also visited with her other brothers, Lincoln and Cuman Cropper and families. Mr. O. L. Dutson was in California several days on business. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Cropper were in Salt Lake on Friday. Dee Western, Bill Wheeler and Steve Bjorkman of Salt Lake came down to spend a few days and enjoy en-joy the closing days of the deer hunt. Dee is a nephew of Henry Larsen and Mary Black. Col. James C. Waller, from Viet Nam is spending ten days with his wife Maxine and four children. Mr. Parnell Hinckley of Salt Lake spent the weekend at the home of Lincoln and Cleo Eliason. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Warner and children of Ogden spent Saturday and Sunday at the home of Melvin's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Warner. Also at the Warner home was Lloyd Warner and two sons of Salt Lake. Miss Delene Black of Logan visited visit-ed Saturday and Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Black. Mr. Lynn Riding and son John of Phoenix were at the home of Ver-nell Ver-nell Baker on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Paul Peterson who has employment employ-ment in Salt Lake was home for the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Peterson. Miss Marilyn Mace of Logan spent Saturday and Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Mace. There were really alot of people in Deseret Saturday for the pheasant pheas-ant hunt. It seems like there were more hunters than pheasants. Mr. and Mrs. Garth Bishop and son, and Mr. Bryce Bishop and Darrel Allred and son of Salt Lake were at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. B. Allred. Miss Rawlene Hales, who is doing her student teaching in Salt Lake was home for the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert r ? i v S Mi 3 y V Electric Dryer... . : : 2 .-.X V DELTA THIRD WARD FRANCES Mr. and Mrs. Al Willden enjoyed a visit of several days with Melba's twin sister, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer (Melva) Patirish of Marysville, Calif While here they took Melba's daughters dau-ghters Gloria Hare and Ciarene Forster to Salt Lake to see another an-other daughter, Bonnie Carter. Mr. and Mrs. Niel Forster had weekend visitors from Kaysviile, Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Parrish (Jeanenie Popo) and five small sons; Mr. and Mrs. Dewy Bennett also visited the Foresters while in Delta to see, mom, Mrs.. Clara Bennett. Mr. .and Mrs. Paul (Bonnie) Cart er spent a few days with parents, Mr. and Mrs. Al Willden. Visiting Mrs. Ila Forster and Neil Forster were Rosemary and a friend Shannon Shaffer who had just completed an engagement with Abby Niel's Band in Kodiak, Alaska. They left Monday morning for an engagement in Nevada, from there they will tour and entertain service men in Hawaii, Japan, Hong Kong, Siagon, Korea and Australia. This is an all girls orchistra, three girls on guitars, a drummer and Miss Abby Niel on steel Hawaiian guitar. A vary exciting experience for Rose Mary. Mr. Dale Bunker spent the weekend week-end with parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Bunker to pheasant hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Ross had their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wes Dutson and baby Dorothy here for a visit and the pheasant hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Giles and three sons of Magna spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Willden and enjoyed the pheasant hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Al Wilden enjoyed a short visit at their home with a nephew, Mr. Kenneth Morison of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Al Willden received a card from son Nye who sends greetings to family and friends from the Caribe Hilton Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He says its lovely weather and the area is just beautiful. beaut-iful. Mr. and Mrs. Stan Brown were happy to have both sons home for pheasant hunt. Ladd who is attend ing CSU at Cedar and Mr. and Mrs. Hales. Mr. and Mrs. Max Jensen and friend, Carlon Cook of Salt Lake were at the home of Max's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Axel Jensen over the weekend. . At the home of J. M. and Thirza Webb for the weekend were Charles Char-les Moffitt of Midway, Mr. Robert Moffitt of Logan, Miss Vicky Mof-fit Mof-fit of Provo and Mr, Val Todds of Granger. Sheldon Christensen and son Clay of Salt Lake were at the home of Mrs. Edna Christensen for Saturday and Sunday. Richard Hollingshead of Firovo and girl friend Alice Wilcox of Ogden spent the weekend with his aunt, Mrs. Jennie Largent. I Mrs. Leland Sanderson and Mir. and Mrs. David Lovell attended the Sacrament meeting in Delta First Ward to witness the naming of grandson Travis Dee son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce (Margaret Sanderson) Taylor. Travis is also a grandson to Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Taylor. Mrs. Alice Gardner had sons Royal and Clair M. and grandson Garv Manning here for the pheasant pheas-ant hunt. Mr. and Mrs. Tarn Davis wish to thank each person that has helped in so many ways in sending their son Dennis on his mission. Cindy Davis daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tarn Davis had an appendectomy appendec-tomy Nov. 7 and is reported doing well. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Ivie will be members of the Delta Third Ward. They have purchased the home of Vaughn Aliens. We are glad to welcome wel-come them. Mrs. Thomas Hopkins had visitors over the weekend, Mr. and Mrs. Remn of Midvale, Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Rowley of Fillmore and children Dejane, Robert and John were here. Mrs. Hopkins enjoys company and wishes people to call on her. Miss Rosemary Sanderson became be-came the bride of David N. Lovell of Oak City Oct. 29 in the Manti Temple. A lovely reception that evening with many friends and relatives re-latives attending honored the new-lyweds. new-lyweds. Bernice's sisters were here for the occasion, Mrs. Rex Allen of Orem and Mr. and Mrs. Mack Bean of Springdale. Colleen Farnsworth was home for the weekend with parents, Mr. .and Mrs. Ervin Farnsworth. No accidents I've heard of yet, however there were not so many hunters today (Sunday as Saturday. Tracy, John and Almon Jr. were here hunting. Evan Theobald formerly of Hinck ley visited the Clark Blisses during the pheasant hunt. The David Poulsen family of Tooele, Mike, Kenneth, Rosemary and Billy visited us over the weekend. week-end. Dave did some hunting with his dad and brothers.- Gladys and Sherman Tolbert had all their family home for the weekend, week-end, except Fred and family. Also Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bi'ni who pre both teachers at CSU in Ce,lar. Some friends from Provo came to hunt with Sherman. I hear all of them were quite successful. The water is back in the canals to finish the irrigation season. Some people like to water their fields real late anc. some plant fall grain and irrigate it. Lola Stoneking is home after staying in Sale Lake waiting for her first grandson to arrive. The little son of Helen Marie and Chas. Thay er. Mother and baby are fine. Also Lola checked with her doctor while in Salt Lake. Clark and Reva Bliss had as hunt ing visitors, Clark's brother Clair and son and also Earl Bliss's two sons, Bill and son of Kearns came to hunt with uncle Clark. Colds ere going around, Floyd and Cleone Tolbert are better but Patsy Fullmer has caught the bug. Sherman and Gladys Tolbert are busy getting ready to go Elk hunting hunt-ing next weekend down Fish Lake way. Hope the weather is good. He is willing to go along with planned activities with unusual sportsmanship. This busy lad, defensive halfback of the football team and a future track participant, plans to attend CSU. Our teen is taking English, j seminary, bookkeeping, American Problems, chemistry, psychology and athletics. He has no favorites, but does enjoy these classes in the new school building. 1 Blaine was vice president of his class in the seventh grade and is now a member of the Letterman's club. Water skiing, at which he excels, and hunting are his hobbies. At a first glance, Blaine appears to be shy. When you get to know him, however, he is really a great guy. Blaine has good ideas and philosophies that are important and meaningful. Earnest and serious about what he is doing, Blaine gets along well with others because he shows an active interest in their ideas and activities. hunting it snowed on him and young Almon Jr. all thru the hunt. Visitors at the Albert Winsor home Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Devane Burns and children of Salt Lake. Mr. Winsor and Mrs. Burns are cousins. Julie Viebell, Cristine Averett, Eugene Rosband and Maribah Winsor Win-sor stopped to say 'hello' to Mari- bah's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Winsor Sunday. They were enroute to Dixie College in St. George after visiting over the weekend in Heber. Mrs. Richard (Myrna) Munson Winnemucca, Nev. came Wedness-day Wedness-day for her children, Ann and James Ray, who have been visiting grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ray Western for the past three weeks. Mrs. Munson, Ann, James Ray and Mrs. Western left Monday for Winn emucca where Mrs. Western will visit this week. Carol Ann Farnsworth, CSU student, stu-dent, spent the weekend with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Hatch Farnsworth. Farns-worth. Mrs. Farnsworth drove Carol Car-ol Ann and Lynette Riding back to Cedar Monday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Dalton spent the weekend in Las Vegas, on business busi-ness and visiting with Mrs. Dalton's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Pace. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Maxfield of Las Vegas spent the weekend in Delta with parents, Mr. and Mrs. V. S. Odean and Mr. and Mrs. Leigh R. Maxfield. While here they pheas ant hunted. Mr. and Mrs. Arland Peterson and family, Brent, Cari, Randy and Neil of Pleasant Grove, and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Peterson and daughter, Cindy of Salt Lake visited in Delta with parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Peterson for the pheasant hunt. Week.. 0 .41 fa' "-v '' 'V CHRIS PETERSEN Chris, the daughter of Ward and NaRae Petersen of Hinckley, gives "D" spirit a boost a9 cheerleader, with her exuberance and bubbling enthusiasm. She enjoys cheerlead-ing cheerlead-ing and puts all she has into it. Chris also has a quieter sideone which enjoys the beauty of life and sees unusual qualities in people. As a result, she has a special charm that draws people to her, and enables en-ables her to make friends easily. Our cheerleader enjoys sewing, which takes patient work and much time, bhe also has a special talent in singing. Dark-haired Chris is a capable and talented writer and student too whose favorite class is ChemIL While being able to appreciate the mechanics and drama of math and science, Chris has also the ability abil-ity to express herself creatively through speech and writing. Chris will continue her studies at the U of U next year, where she is planning to major in either the field of chemistry or education. Senior Hop . . . That was, the day that I had been waiting for j for 4 years as our son, Evan, re- ceived his discharge from the Army. He spent his time in Colorado, Germany, Ger-many, Oklahomo and last two years at Dugway. They had their baby named Sunday. It was given the name of Bradley Evan Skeem. Mrs. Ward Thompson and Mrs. Esra Lyman "came from Milford to be with us for the event. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Pearson also had their baby named. She was given the name of Cindy Lue. Present Pre-sent were Mr. and Mrs. Dale Pearson, Pear-son, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Person, great-grandparents of Delta; Mr. and Mrs. Duane Stan-worth Stan-worth and Mrs. Ethel Stanworth, Oasis, grandparents and great-grandmother, great-grandmother, Janet's brothers and families were here also, Mr. and Mrs. David Stanworth. and Mr. and Mrs. Max Stanworth. Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Bishop over the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Kirk Kirkman and their son, Mike. Other visiters on Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Albert Al-bert Skidmore of Delta. Mrs. Skid-more, Skid-more, Mrs. Bishop and Mrs. Kirkman Kirk-man are sisters. Bruce Bishop of Cedar spent Saturday Sat-urday hunting with his r-andfather and others of the hunting party, Mr. and Mrs. Monte Bishop and children Kelly and Mathew and their friends from Sandy. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Kelsey of Springville, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Kel Mr. Grant Johnson and son Rand of Murray and Mr. Boyd Johnson and son Dan of Richfield visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Nielson over the weekend and did some pheasant pheas-ant hunting. Sunday evening Bill and Claudine went to see a friend, Dan Johnson, who is in the Nephi Hospital and also visited with his wife Modalane, who is a girlfriend of Claudine's from France. Spending the pheasant hunt weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Randall Bradfield were Dee and Shirley Bradfield and boys of Sandy and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Sherwood and family of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. (Buck) Caldwell Cald-well and son of Murray were visiting visit-ing with friends and relatives over the weekend. Myrtle Nielson spent Thursday and Friday in Milford visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bradfield and family. (Gene's brother.) Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Dutson and family of Granger visited and did some hunting with Rulon and Eva Dutson. Students are fu.ly excused for and doctor or dental appointments. 2. If parents keep students out to at home or to go to town for neces-sr.ry neces-sr.ry shopping, students got 2 off, with the opportunity to make up the work to compensate for being out. 3. If students are absent for any other reason, 10 is deducted from their grades. If circumstances of their absence prove that they were not deliberately sluffing, they are offered an opportunity to make-up the work so little or nothing is taken off. This is much like last year's policy. pol-icy. It has its drawbacks as well as advantages. We are discussing plans for a better policy for next year. We welcome your suggestions. Silent figurines and oil painting bespoke the expance of creativity open to those who are "Born Free". The floorshow opened with secre tary Betty Rae Wright and Class President Kenny Talbot presenting the Senior Class as. they promenaded promenad-ed through a streamered arch way. High lighting the floorshow were an intrepretive dance by Marianne Wichmann and the theme song by an a cappella sextet-Bruce Stephen son, Mike Theobald, Blaine Turner, Kenny Talbot, Kenny Bunker and Duane Bishop. A dinner served by parents of the Seniors completed an eventful evening. RUBY SKEEM sey of Orem and Mrs. and Mrs. Laun Farnsworth (Frances Elder) of Oregon visited with dad, Parley Elder this week at different times. Mrs. Betsy Skeem was taken to a Salt Lake Hospital this week for special treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Garold Skeem took Mary's mother, Mrs. Skeen, to the Salt Lake Airport where she borrd-ed borrd-ed a plane for her home in Tennessee. Tennes-see. Mrs. Skeen has spent the last month with Garold and Mary. Gar-old Gar-old and Mary stopped in Tooele where they spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Farris. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Skeem and family visited and hunted here this weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Cliford Skeem. Evan Murray of BYU visited with the Rowleys over the weekend. Dan and Dick Willoughby were home from Colorado for the pheasant phea-sant hunt. Susan, Scott and Steven Rowley were home from college this weekend. week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Stanworth and daughter of Salt Lake were here for the hunt at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Stanworth. Here also, were Keith and Myrna Stanworth Stan-worth of Mills and their children, Sharon, JoLynn, Robert, Terry and Tony. Robert was baptized while they were here. Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Skeem had Vernessa's brothers visit them for theh hunt. Mr. anr Mrs. Bruce Anderson of Dugway were down. WANDA NIELSON tween a cow and a pheasant, because be-cause a year or so ago, we had a cow shot. Its the careless ones that . make it hard for the others. Marsha Hansen and Gayl Nielson were home Sunday and Monday from Beauty College in Salt Lake. A belated birthday hello goes to Phil Lovell who was 20 yenrs old Monday. He is on a mission to Alaska. Will you please send or call in the boys addresses who are in the service or on missions by next week Allen and Scott Overson spent two weekends visiting in Nephi with Mr. and Mrs. Elden Johnson and hunted deer in Fountain Green Allen got his deer. Ida Overson's father , W. H. Johnson of Fountain Green cut Allen's deer up and brot it out on Wednesday, so Ida could bottle it. Ida Overson was in Sugarville Thursday to see Dick Jensen, the boy who got hurt when he and his companion hit her cow Sunday night. Mr. and Mrs. Clemont Bennett visited with Ida Overson on Sunday. Lyman Overson stayed overnight, Monday with Ida Overson and family. |
