A wonderful lady has gone and her place in Hinckley will never be filled as she lived it. Hinckley loved her and she loved Hinckley. Her friends were many here and in the entire vicinity. Gladys Carter was such a personality of good hu mor, friendliness, a big smile always, al-ways, that everyone's life who touched hers, was made brighter by knowing her. She was so fond of her friends. She appreciated them all to the very fullest, and many times she voiced this deep sentiment and regard sheheld for the place she lived and those with whom she was associated. She was so young at heart, no matter where she was or whatever endeavor she was engaged i n. Her wonderful carefree attitudes and ways were an inspiration to each of us. The brightness of spirit she exhibited lightened the burdens and morale of everyone. She will be sadly missed mis-sed in many ways, in many places; the Hinckley MIA of which she was Sec'y; the Stake Primary of which she had been sec'y; a Hinckley choir member; the Literary Club; the Rook Club; the exercise club that has been held here. I expected to have to build a fire outside and cook in the open, but we finally got part way back to normal. At least we have hot water and the burners on the stove work.
