It wa: dark and I rolled back clown hill. It's a good thing it was dark! The inrograms and games were excellent. Jennie Slyler, Norma Skeem and I look the girls up to the canyon and were chaperones for our group. They were Jackie Gillen, Nancy Anderson, Barbara Roundy, Trma Kay Styler, Marilee Memmott, Judy and Delene Skeem, Sharon Rowley, Debra Gillen. Ir another camp were Stephen Gillen, Mike Styler, Kriss Skeem, Vin Mem mott, Stewart and Shane Rowley, Clyde Gillen, Kevin Styler, Scott and Joe Roundy and Raymond Anderson. And-erson. Mrs. Faye Howell is still hospitalized hospit-alized with a back injury. Visiting her Thursday were Morgan's sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dalton of Parowan and daughter, Maxine Barton of Greenville. Tuesday, Tues-day, a cousin and family, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wade of San Luis Rey, Calif., visited with her. Mr. and Mrs. Wes Hardy and family stopped to visit wilh Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Skeem as they were on their vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hardy spent Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Skeem. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Skeem and Brenda joined Mr. and Mrs. Thurlo Wiley in Grange and went on a week's vacation, boating down the Grand Rapids. They had a nice trip Mary Lynn Day returned home after spending her vacation at Las Vegas. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Cahoon visited visit-ed here from Las Vegas then went on to Salt Lake City. Evva Cahoon, Mr. and Mrs. Ro land Cahoonwent to Salt Lake to visit Evva's sister, Ruth, who has been ill for some lime, Nila Cahoon visited a week with her sister, Linda Lee at Kearns. Lee Skeem and Kenneth Thomp son of Milford spent a week in Dug way with Evan and Sue Ann. Steven and Scott Rowley spent Saturday in Provo. Susan Rowley was selected to go to State to participate in the riding meet. There were four boys from Fillmore and three girls from west Millard selected. They will ride at Sugarvillt VENICE DAVIS Clark Hardy of Las Vegas came Sunday and lie and his wife, Evelyn Eve-lyn made a trip to Salt Lake, Sunday Sun-day arid Monday and will take the children and return home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Alden Shurtz and family of Alpine visited over the weekend with parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frelen Shurtz arid families. Donald Davis and neighbor, Vcr-lyn Vcr-lyn Gosh came down Sunday, to help his dad in the harvest. Evelyn Hardy and family and Mrs. Leo Davis made a trip to Salt Lake, Monday and Tuesday; also, visited in Kaysville with a friend, LaDean Sheffield. Mr. and Mrs. Frelen Shurtz made a fishing trip to Richfield and other oth-er places, Monday and Tuesday. Mrs. Grace Jensen went with Mr. and Mrs. John McCoy for a trip to Colo. Springs for a visit with her son, Ralph Jensen and family. Mr. and Mrs. Elden Shurtz took their family fishing to Puffer's Lake and he said it rained every day. Mrs. Cecil Shurtz and small child ren visited in Salt Lake and cared for her sister's children, as one of her niece's was operated on. Cecil went up Sunday to bring her home. "Congratulations" to Larry Oliver Oli-ver and Chuck Greene for their a-chievement a-chievement in gaining an Eagle Seoul badge. The program was an outstanding affair in Oak City canyon, can-yon, Saturday night. Mifhfu! Thomas find Lnom Moo dy of Sutherland visited our ward. Virginia Done and boy friend of Cedar City visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Done over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Ashby had friends visiting over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Meinhardt are on their vacation in Europe, leaving leav-ing hero July 20. Sutherland MRS. HEBEH ROSE the Murray fair next weekend. Roger and Marie Stanworth were home for the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Stanworth. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Loren Rowley and down for the wedding were Beulah's brother and families, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Webb, Mr. and Mrs. Herb Webb, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Webb and Beulah's aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Slade of Kaysville. Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Carting and family of Haley, Idaho visited with Mr. and Mrs. Fon Hawley. They spent several days here. Robt. and two sons, Kim and Paul, have just returned from a seout camp at Far- ragut, Idaho on the Canadian border. bor-der. 4000 boys .attended the jamboree. jam-boree. Robert was an advisor. Mrs. Cariing is serving as Relief Society President in Haley. Vera Stevens and children were home from Salt Lake visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Norvel Chris tensen. Bruce Anderson and Leigh Ann Townsend visited in Oasis Sunday. Mrs. Williams visited with her daughter and family, Leo and Beth Day and daughters. Launza Willoughby returned to Oasis from Washington, where she has been visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Dale Willoughby. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stanworth were home for the weekend from Salt Lake. ABSUAEIAM MRS. AFTON FULLMER la of ih& aunt dleaDers Myrl Rohison Terry. Born Dec. 20, 1808 at Ixja, Wayne County, Ut. to Wiilis E. and Sarah Ann Ellett Robison. Died Aug. 5 in Friendly Village, Newhall, Calif. Shee married mar-ried Geo. Q. Terry Feb. 28, 1917 in Hinckliey, Utah. They lived in Hinckley and Abraham during the early years of their marriage. Later La-ter they moved to Los Angeles, Calif., where she was in the real estate business. She was talented in Arts and Science. At the time of her death she was pain ing portraits por-traits of her family. She is survived by her husband, and 4 sons and 3 daughters: Paul, Heath and Howard, Newhall, Calif.; Thurzab, Canoga Park, Calif.; Mrs. Gayie Blumberg, hiizaoetn New Jersey; Barbara Hamza, Santa Monica, Calif.; Deanna, Los Angeles, Ang-eles, Calif.; one brother, Frank Robison, Murray, Ut.; sister, Reva Bliss, Abraham, Ut. Funeral services 2:00 o'clock in Newhall, Calif. Burial, Eternal Valley Val-ley Cemetery, Newhall. Our deepest sympathy goes to Reva and Frank and all the Terry family at this time. Her sudden death was a shock to them. Gladys and Sherman Tolbert attended at-tended the homecoming with Elder Verl Tolbert and his missionary companion and their wives last Sunday in Salt Lake. Pres. Winters of the mission Veil labored in was returning home. Edgar and Margaret Taylor have had Dick and Barbara Marstella of Tempe, Arizona with them for a week. We drove out to Judd Creek yesterday yes-terday the first time for me. What a joy. A little creek is running a-long a-long thru the canyon. Cattle, deer and birds all love it. Choke cherries cher-ries grow along its banks. Indian writings on the rocks. John found one arrowhead. It was coed there but hot on the desert. We are happy for Sid and Cecilia Young on the arrival of their new baby. Congratulations. Again, I say, send or call youi news to me by Monday morning. M If.. - -k :ttv-.,, -i. - LYIYNHYL LAURA BRADFIELD Larry Simpson, 3-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Simpson fell off the Trick-Bars at the church playgrounds play-grounds Wednesday evening. He re reived a severe bump on the head and was taken to the Nephi Hospital, Hos-pital, where it was found he suffered suf-fered a concussion. He was hospitalized hospit-alized for three days. We are all happy to have the li-tie fellow well and back home aagm. Bill Tolbert was released from the Nephi Hospital August 1. The boy scouts had a great time at Camp Maple Dell last week. The first night there they almost got rained out. In 2 hours it rained 3' inches, the most recorded there since 1934. Roger Tolbert won the fishing contest. Friday night, Mr. and Mrs. Aralda Jones and Kim and Mr. Eddie Dutson and Gary and Glen Nielson went up for the program. pro-gram. They stopped at Payson and took Mr. and Mrs. Jim Elliot with them. Glen played a trumpet solo on the program. Eddie stayed over night and brought the boys home. They arrived tired, dirty, but had a wonderful time. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Benson went to Salt Lake Wednesday evening. Sandra and Judy Nielson went with them. Carl and Ethel came right back but the girls stayed for a vacation va-cation of a week. Merril and Kay Nielson and boys are here with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clead Nielson. Merrill has been stationed in Monterey, Calif. Mrs. Duaine Bayles and baby Kirt spent afew days here with parents. Mr. and Mrs. Reid Tippetts, Lee and Tommy. Mr. Bayles joined them on Saturday and they all left for theii home in Blanding, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Moody and baby were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Moody. They stayed two or 3 days and are from Calif. Kay and Annette Christensen and Laura Moody spent the weekend with their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Thur nion Moody and family. They have been going to school at the Y. LaVar Owens, Johny Owens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Owens attended at-tended the District Riding Club Meet in Payson last week. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Owens took their daughter dau-ghter Judy to American Fork to spend a few days with ,a girl friend The Jr. Softball team left for Cedar Ce-dar City to play a game. Miss RoAnne Johnson has been visiting in Blanding for the past 2 weeks with her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Garrett and family. Last week, Glen Rawlinson went to Panguitch Lake with the Scouts. Lewis Rawlinson spent a few-days few-days in Sutherland with his father and mother, Kim Dane and Annette Just a short time ago, Mr. and Mrs. Fernard (Sandra) Blake visited the Rawiinsons. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Adams made a trip to Calif, to visit relatives, rela-tives, Don and Lenord Adams, Mary and Fan. They went to Carlsbad to' visit with friends, Mr. and Mrs. Don Chaplain. Mrs. Chaplain is the former for-mer Lois Stoneking, whose parents live in Abraham. All the family members were present and report a lovely evening. Clair Porter's boy has been staying in Sutherland since the anniversary. Next week the Evan Skidmore family will hold their annual reunion re-union at the home of Evan and Eleanor. El-eanor. There will be 49 people present pre-sent and an invitation is extended to all friends who would like to see the family, to come. Word of their son, Scott was good. His wounds are healing and its lucky they were in places not so vital an inch from the knee and an inch roni his kidney on the left side. He was very foriunate to get no more trying try-ing to defend the law. LeRay Jackson was here Sunday to visit his fo'lks, the Bernard Jack- sons, and to witness the blessing ! of lxn and Nedra's baby daughter. The baby was blessed by her father fath-er and given the name of Joni. To witness the ceremony also, were grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Fulmer and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Jackson. The baby of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ken-neth Porter received her name on Sunday. She was blessed by her father and given the name of Shar-lone. Shar-lone. Now they have Shauna, Sharon Shar-on and Shailene, and the 2 boys. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Larsen and his mother, Mrs. Larsen, of Calif, are here to visit the Bert Johnsons. El-ouise El-ouise was here to spend the weekend week-end with her folks, the Bert Johnsons, John-sons, also. Jean Johnson's sister is still with the Howard Johnsons. Still with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Meinhardt is Mrs. Meinhardt's sister. sis-ter. Mr. and Mrs. Melvire Hepworth, Dora Rose and Elaine Rose made a trip to Salt Lake, Tuesday to do some work in the Genealogical Library. Li-brary. Tne Sunday School class of Michael Mi-chael and Elaine Rose held a barbecue bar-becue Wednesday night at the He- ber Rose home. Afterward, time was spent playing croquet. Mrs. Venna Hayes and daughter spent Sunday here with her parents Bishop and Mrs. Ferrell Walker. Gloria and S.ephen Morrison and baby spent the weekend with parents. par-ents. The LaVar Owens' will attend the graduation exercises on the 19th, of their son-in-law, Varla's husband, hus-band, when he will receive his Mas ers degree in Art. Mrs. Julene Cottle and daughters Lanae, of Malta, Idaho and Mrs. Bonnie Peterson and daughter, Ta-mra Ta-mra of We Is, Nev., were here over the weekend to visit their folks, the Boyd Bunker's and Mrs. Zola Bunker and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Peterson. Ward Day was held Tuesday beginning be-ginning with a breakfast cooked by the Bishopric. There were manv exciting events and a lucious meal tn tne evening. There was a Primary Pri-mary parade, children's sports, ball ames. barbecue, program and dinner din-ner and a Softball game. Mrs. Pete Sampson of Delta was here to visit Mr. and Mrs. Jay Ferry, Fer-ry, Sunday. She is the grandmother ol Jay.
