Show L eammaion WANDA NIELSON TOO LATE FOR LAST WEEK A very large crowd attended Sacrament Sac-rament meeting Sunday night. Eld-ex Eld-ex Kay Lovell gave a report on his mission to Flonda. It was very interesting in-teresting and Kay is to be complimented compli-mented on the very good job he did. Afterwards at his home he showed films he took while on his mission. His grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Peterson and aunt, Varlene Peterson were here, also, many of his relatives and friends from Oak City, Lynndyl and Delta were present. Mr. and Mrs. Conrad (Viola Jensen) Jen-sen) Vogel and family visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ben Lovell and other friends in Leamington last week. They were returning from a trip to California. They live in Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Barrett and family fa-mily visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Oxel Johnson last week. They brot along their boat and went boating on the reservoir while here. Mr. and Mrs. Orson Crouch and Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson visited at the home of Mrs. Hattie Anderson Ander-son last Saturday and Sunday. They also visited with Mrs. Clara Johnson and boys and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Overson in Lynndyl. Mr. and Mrs. John (Joyce) Sylvester Syl-vester visited Sunday afternoon with Mrs, Clara Johnson and boys. Clara also went to Santaquin and visited with her two brothers one day last week. Mr. Hugh Perry of Springville visited vi-sited Mr. and Mrs. Wells Nielson and Alma Harder and family last Tuesday. Sunday they went back tak ng Claudine Nielson back with them. In Cedar City Rose mary Gunn and girl friend of California Cali-fornia spent a few days with Dick and family and then Tuesday they bro;, Claudine home with them, meeting Theron in Milford and bringing him home also. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Dutson have returned from a ten day trip thru Yellowstone Park and Canada. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Barton (Luella) and family traveled as far as Yellowstone Yellow-stone with them. Ray and Luella returned home while Eva and Rulon Ru-lon went on into Canada. While there they went thru the temple in Cardston, Canada. On their way home they stopped in Montana and saw Mrs. Kate McCull (Spinder) and also Betty and Jim Spinder and families. Little Kayle Dutson, son of Elwood is staying with them now for a week or so. They also took granddaughter Delene with them on their trip. Mrs. Jim Williams visited for a few days with Mrs. Margaret Brad-field, Brad-field, also, Mrs. Willa McCord of Montana, Jane's daughter, has been here spending a couple of weeks with her mother. They also visited a few days in Fillmore with Dern and family. Jane left last Saturday Sat-urday by train to visit Lee and family fa-mily in California. Mrs. Margaret Bradfield left Sun day for a trip to Nevada and California Cali-fornia to visit her children and grandchildren. She plans on spending spend-ing a few days in Paso Robles, Calif, visiting with her son-in-law, Bessie's husband and his children, also. Miss DeeAnn Nielson was home over the weekend from school at the U. of U. The Primary held a parade for the small fry last Monday morning. Indians, cowboys, pioneers, etc. were roaming around town for a- while. Afterward the Primary officers of-ficers had a bake sale. Now is the time to start thinking of Labor Day. Weeds and trash could be cleaned up before the hay and grain is ready to start again. If you all have a hard time und erstanding me this week, I've had a little cold and kinda' dopey that's no excuse I guess. Please call up and tell me your news as I can't tell it unless I know it. Mr. Marlen Nielson and children Kathy and Keith visited at the home of Theron Nielson for a few days last week. Claudine Nielson and Rose Mary Gunn and friend of Los Angeles were at Fish Lake last week doing a little fishing and relaxing. This week the trio went to Cedar City and picked up Mr. and Mrs. Dick Gunn and family, then went on down into Arizona to see Grand Canyon and other points of interest. inter-est. I don't know as we'll be able to settle Claudine down long e- nough to stay home for awhile While the fish are biting she's some place catching them, even the one's in the river (she feeds them to her cats.) Mrs. Ranae Hannah and children of Georgia are visiting at the home of her father, Mr. Alma Harder for a couple of weeks. Last Thursday they went to Sunset to see Mr. and Mrs. Glen Harder and family, also took in the parade and rodeo. Al, Dean, Mable and Dena went also. They brot back one of Glen's little girls, Bonae, to stay and visit for a week. This week Ranae will go on to California. Mrs. Erva Bradfield spent last week in Salt Lake visiting Mr. and Mrs. Dee Bradfield and boys. While up there she and Randall celebrated celebrat-ed their birthdays. Gayl, Wade and I were in Salt Lake Thursday and Friday. We went to the rodeo. All I enjoyed was Rex Allen and his music. Friday Fri-day we watched the parade had a very good place to sit and watch. It was very pretty. The Delta High School boys and girls did very well, but I'll bet they were glad when they reached Liberty Park. After the parade we went out to see my sister-in-law. Her daughter Betty was up from California so got to see her and her family, also. Inez came home with us to work for a couple of days while I recuperated. Roger and Nyia Nielson wore in Mona Sunday doing some water skiing. They went on up to Utah Lake with Nyra's folks, Mr. and Mrs. I.aMar Stanley and family. I Mr. and Mrs. Ray Anderson and family were down visiting with Mrs. Hattie Anderson last weekend, taking Connie, their daughter, back with them. She has been with Hattie Hat-tie for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Overson and family attended the Johnson reunion re-union at Provo a week ago Sunday. Ida Overson and Wiima Lovell attended the funeral of James S. Johnson at Fountain Green Tuesday. Tues-day. They also visited Ida's father, fath-er, W. H. Johnson. Ida Overson also attended the funeral of Lillian Daniels in Mt. Pleasant Saturday. She also visited her father in Fountain Green. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas (Artense Nelson) Dahlgsen and family from California visited last Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Lovell, Mr. and Mrs. Bud McCann and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hansen and family of Fairview visited with Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Bradfield and fa mily and Mr. and Mrs. Randall Bradfield last Monday. Mrs. Jene Bradfield and family also Lida Ruth and Scott Overson were in Fillmore Sunday visiting and helping Jene's father, Mr. Ar chie Robison. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Johnson and fa mily went to Lehi Sunday after noon to visit Mr. and Mrs. Kay (Nl la Jean) Stone and family. Kay and Nila have foot them a new home in Lehi. Kay is teaching in Lehi. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Bradfield and Eva Lynn were in town last Wednesday getting some furniture and things out of their home here. as they have bot them a home in Murray. Master Lonnie Bradfield celebrated celebrat-ed his 6th birthday last Monday. All his little friends were invited to help him celebrate. Ice cream and cup cakes were served. Mr. and Mrs. Rich Finlinson and family are spending a week in Yellowstone Park. They left last Monday evening. Ruth Finlinson is tending to the post office. Mr. Kay Lovell who has just returned re-turned from a mission to Florida is now employed in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. LaForge Lovell were in Salt Lake Friday visiting with Lou'se's sister and husband and family, also helped them to move to another home. Hinckley - - - Dean Speaks for Southern Utah The next ten years will be the decade of decision for Southern U-tah, U-tah, accord ng to Ernest H. Dean, Democratic candidate for governor, who spoke Thursday before Democrats Demo-crats from Sevier County. Decisions are pending on Can-yonlands, Can-yonlands, on the Dixie project, the use of Lake Powell, and the future of the tourist industry in Utah which could bring an economic renaissance re-naissance to the southern part of the state or could force it to remain re-main the sleeping giant that it is presently, Dean said. Mr. Dean declared that Utah stands to gain in dealing with the federal government in developing the resources of the state. Because of political partisanship, some state officials have been reluctant to cooperate with the Department of the Interior in developing the Canyonlands area, he charged. The establishment of Canyon-lands Canyon-lands as a national recreational area is not an intrusion by the federal government, he said. "Rather, "Rath-er, it is an opportunity to share the state's natural wonders with the nation to the economic and cultural cul-tural advantage of the State of U-tah," U-tah," he declared. Mrs. Reva Taylor had as her weekend guests Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Ron-ald Belnap and children Kim and Ceciley of Salt Lake. Saturday they went to Lehman Caves. Miss Patty Kernell was in Hinckley Hinck-ley for the celebration. She reports her parents are doing fine and are still in Anchorage, Alaska. Mrs. Gull of Meadow spent a few days with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Talbot. Mrs. Margaret Roper visited with Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Morris and family last week and helped with the float. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jensen and family fa-mily of Salt Lake spent the 24th with Mr. and Mrs. Mein Petersen. V.ckie Damron and Jana Morris were home for the celebration. They have employment up north. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Western and family went to Salt Lake Tuesday and from there to Dugway to the receDtion of Mr. Western's neice and husband, Marilyn and Jim Baughman. Twenty friends and relatives at' tended the Manti Temple last Wed nesday to witness the sealinga of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Greener, mt. and Mrs. Don Mons and Zane and Elsie Crafts. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Spendlove and girls Mary and Elaine of Kays- ville came down for the 24th ao ings. They stayed Friday night with Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Swensen. At the Goldia Talbot home were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hunsaker and family of Orem and Ann Lee and family of Springville. Neil..- and Carma Swensen and 'boys came from Salt Lake for the parade and rodeo. They stayed at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Randall Swensen. They all went to Puffers Lake for two days of fishing. Leo Ekins was home from the BYU where he is attending summer school. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Manis have returned from a trip to Flaming Gorge and Dinosaur National Park Mr. and Mrs. Parry Taylor had as their guests Mr. and Mrs. Rich ard Ekker and daughter Patsy, al so her fiance Darrell Holden of Pay son. Mr. and Mrs. Don Lewis and Ed die Morris were at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Morris for the Millard County Chronicle Thursday, July 30, 1964 weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wright and three children , of Salt Lake were at the Ivan Wright home to' a few days. Jack and Lawana Davis and fam ily of Tooele and Elma and Wayne Jones of Cedar-City were visitors at the Karl Workman home and en joyed the celebration with them. Mr. and Mrs. Verdell Bishop and family went to- Provo Saturday to pick up their son Baiiry who has just returned from the jamooree They attended the Hilton reunion while in Provo. Don and Nora Bishop had several of their children home this past week. They were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bishop and son Danny and Mr. and Mrs. Tim Bishop, both oi irovo; Pat Bishoo Chalwin and two child ren of Los Angeles and Mr. and Mrs. Stan Cook and four children of Salt Lake. They all came for the parade and rodeo and stayed until Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Wilkins and family have been to California and are now on their way to Oregon. At the Ren. Taylor home for the 24th were Mr. and Mrs. Alan Taylor Tay-lor and baby of Salt Lake. Sunday their niece, Mr. and Mrs. Eiwin Peay of Spanish Fork spent the day. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor are staying stay-ing in Milford during the week so that Mr. Taylor can get his arthritis treatments. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hardy and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Talbot and family and Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Moody and family have taken ta-ken their boats and campers to Yellowstone for a week of fun. Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Western and Karen visited the Alma and Sheldon Shel-don Westerns Sunday. Visiting at the home of Gladys Carter from Wednesday til Saturday Satur-day were Rex and Roberta Carter and children Frances, Jay, Paul, Margaret and Bradley, also George and Anna Parras and children, ill of Ruth, Nevada. Ellis Stevens and children, Elva, John and Rosemary of Ruth, Nev. spent the 24th with the Clyde Stevens. Ste-vens. Clara Stewart had her sister Amie Peterson of Provo also her son Don here to spend the weekend. week-end. Other visitors at her home were Webb King Brown of San Ber nardino, Calif. Also, Susan and Ju lie Stewart of Magna. Jlmmie, who has spent the summer here with his grandmother, relumed home to Magna Saturday. DeReta Sanderson Matthews and her husband, Wesley and six children child-ren of Chula Vista, 'Calif, spent Thursday in Hinckley. DeReta is a daughter of David and Dora Sanderson. Sand-erson. They lived in Hinckley many years. She was delighted to show her family her old childhood town and meet old friends. Craig Talbot, Tommie Taylor, Craig Bishop and Jessie Stevens were released as the presidency of the deacons quorum and Jessie Stevens Ste-vens was sustained as the new pre sident with Craig Bishop and Dee Greener as counselors and Dusty Morris as sec. The meeting was arranged by Beth Hepworth and everyone was well rewarded for attending. Spea kers were Leslie Diehl, Enid Danv ron and Melvin Hepworth. Carmen Hepworth and Michael Rose sang "He That Hath Clean Hands" and Carmen and Melvin and Harold and Anna Lee sang "Jesus, Lover of My Soul". Mrs. Katie Alford of Apalachicola, Florida arrived Monday night for a visit with her daughter, granddaughter granddau-ghter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Randall and Roxanne. Mrs. Louise Carling and four children of Logan was here over the weekend. Her husband Bob is on a trip to the World's Fair with a bus-load of students. Janith Bish op is here for the summer. She has gone up north to visit with brother and sisters. Mrs. Genevieve Chapman visited with her brothers and sisters in Hinckley. Mr. and Mrs. T, A. Dennison went to the Manti Temple then on to the Sterling Ward Reunion. Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Swensen and Lewis and Mr. and Mrs. Randall Swensen also attended the reunion. Mr. and Mrs. Dennison went to Ogden to eet their daughter Vilate who is attend ing summer school at Weber College. Col-lege. She stayed for the 24th celebration cele-bration and then, her parents look her back Sunday. At the home of Mrs. Orlando (Fern) Hepworth over the weekend were her ten children and their fa milies. In attendance at a barbecue held on Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Jex L. Woolsey and Joyce, Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hepworth, Cedar City; Dr. and Mrs. Lester O. Hepworth and family, Tolleson, Ariz.; Dr. and Mrs. June A. Forty people were at the party and a good time was enjoyed by all. West Desert ROUNDUP VELMA TIMM (Week of July 23rd) Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Maxfield and family were the guests of Mr. and Mro. A. H. Maxfield. Their sons Craig and Douglas stayed here for a week. Mark Tripp and his children were the guests of Mrs. Ined Tripp on July 15. Mark is on his vacation. Miss Judy Bates of Gandy spent a week with Betty and Mary Sims. Ormus Dutson and his son Gary were our stake visitors last Sunday. Everyone at church enjoyed their talks. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Tripp and Delora went to Provo last Tuesday. Several people from Callao attended at-tended the Ute Stampede at Nephi and had a most enjoyable time. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dangerfield and sons of Salt Lake are visiting the Cecil and Elmer Bates families at Gandy. Saturday the Stopp family went to Salt Lake and had an enjoyable time. 4-H NEWS The Flaky Bakers went up to Oak City Canyon for camp in June. We put on a play called "The -Three Spinsters". We had camp no. 18. Susan Mork was our counselor. Our leader, Susan Lake, was nominated for deputy.
