Mrs. MarGenne Rowley, Home A-gent A-gent from Deseret, attended our Ward Relief Society last Tuesday and gave tips on entertaining. She also demonstrated making sweet rolls. Nada Simpson, and Eunice Nielson. gave gift idea suggestions and had many interesting items on display. Tuesday night Delta First Ward was the host ward for the "Dear to My Heart" program for all MIA Maids and their mothers and mutual mut-ual officers. Those attending from here were Kristine and Jean Tol-bert, Tol-bert, Arlene and Beverly Dutson, Paula and Nada Simpson, Jackie Nielson, Patsy Nielson, Ha Mae Ov-erson, Ov-erson, Lorraine Stephenson and Laura Rradfiedd. A very outstanding outstand-ing program was presented and refreshments re-freshments were served. April 2nd, a 4-H meeting was held in Lynndyl Ward. The pro gram was explained by MarGenne Rowley and Louise Lovell. The community club was organized and the following leaders were chosen: Foods I, Marilynn Nielson; Foods II, Katherine Jones; Foods III, Ruth Abegglen; Foods IV, Nada Simpson; Simp-son; Clothing I, Marilynn Eatough; Clothing II, Betty Nielson; Horseback Horse-back Riding, Phill Nielson; Steers, Jack Nelson; Sheep, Lawrence Brad field; Gardens, Beverly Dutson; Home Grounds, Dean Eatough; Activity Ac-tivity Leaders, Nada Simpson, Phyllis Phyl-lis Nielson, Howard Nielson, Carl Benson, Billy Nielson and CamiUe Nieson. Sounds like we will have some good 4-H Clubs this summer. The towns people are working, trying to get the town cleaned up. Carl Benson was in charge. There are about 25 empty homes where the weeds have grown up around the houses and fences, the trees are dead, making it a horrible sight to see. Also, the streets are grown up with dead weeds. Let's all try to clean up our town and make it a pretty place in which to live. The Boy Scouts and their leader Aralda Jones went on an overnight camp out last Friday. Mina Overson went to Nephi Friday Fri-day and had the cast removed from her broken leg. It is healing good, "lili II Nitrogen Fertilizers Branch Mgr. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Wilkins went to Richfield Friday to spend the weekend with their daughte., Enla, her husband Junior Baird and children. Saturday they all went down to Kingston, Ariz, and came back Sunday toy way of Short Creek Zions Canyon and other points of interest. They went to Primary Conference i n Richfield and on home late Sunday night. They had a lovely trip. Gladys Banks of Salt Lake came down Saturday to see her sister, Ruth Abegglen and family. Sunday she and Ruth went down to Milford to see their sister, Maurine Miller who is recovering from surgery in the Milford hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Don Marlin and children of Kearns spent the week end with his sister, Mrs. Aralda Jones and family. Tom Best is still quite ill. He will enter the Payson hospital Wednes day and next week he will have surgery. Visiting at the Lile Johnson home Sunday were their daughter, Clot- een, husband Roy Greatwood and children of Brigham City. Their two daughters have stayed with their grandparents. Cloreen entered the IDS Hospital in Salt Lake today Millard County Chronicle for surgery. Norman and Leda Blgelow John- son or salt baxe visitea wan Mr. and Mrs. Lile Johnson. They had been to California where they got them a baby boy. This makes four children that they have adopted, ilts wonderful when young people like these will take other little children into their hearts and make a home for them. x- Mr. and Mrs. Keith Nielson and Nada Simpson went to Provo today to-day (Monday). Keith had to go up and see his doctor again. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bradfield and son Don went to Leamington Sunday and had dinner with Margaret Marg-aret Bradfield, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Clif-ford Bennett 'of Tooele and Jane Williams were also there. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Carpenter of Hinckley spent Saturday at the Lawrence Bradfield home. The program in Sacrament meeting meet-ing Sunday night was very interesting. interest-ing. Talks were given toy Allen Niel son and Alma Banks. Piano solos by Maxine and Carol Ann Nielson. Remarks toy Bishop Phill Nielson. MIA and Sacrament meetings will commence at 8:00 p.m. now, instead of 7:30 p.m. 4-H NEWS Lynndyl Community 4-H Club was organized April 2nd wth Dean and Marilyn Eatough as leaders. The 4-H program was explained by Mrs. Rowley and Louise Lovell. Elections were held and the following follow-ing were elected to office: Ranee Simpson, Pres.; Stacy Nielson, Vice Pres.; Valarie Tolbert, Sec; and Jim Nelson, Reporter. Scott and Bonnie Sheriff visited, also. Mrs. Calvin Dutson had surgery at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake Saturday, April 4th. Grover Christensen visited Mr. and Mrs. Keith Henrie at Panguitch over the weekend. Mrs. Janet Torrens visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Finlin-son. Finlin-son. The children remained with their grandparents while their mother mo-ther is in the hospital for surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Shipley, Mrs. Verna Mae Drollinger and son, Michael, Mrs. Mae Shipley and No-la No-la Christensen are visiting at Los Angeles, Calif., with their daughter, daugh-ter, Geniel Martin and family. Judy Finlinson reports having had a pleasant vacation to Arizona and Mexico. She spent the weekend week-end here with her father, Dwaine Finlinson and family, then returned return-ed to Blanding where she is teaching teach-ing school. - Members of the Kanosh Ward choir under the direction of Don L. Anderson, Jr., furnished a very outstanding out-standing program at Sacrament meeting Sunday evening. (Mr. and Mrs. Harold Anderson spent the past week in Salt Lake while Harold was in the hospital for medical care. Myron Christensen and family visited his mother, " Mrs. Esther Christensen and Laura. Recent visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Anderson were Mrs. Avis Stephenson and children, Conference visitors at Salt Lake were Mrs. LeRoy Anderson and Bis hop and Mrs. Lyman Finlinson. Mr. Earl Harris accompanied Mr. and Mrs. John DeLapp to Salt Lake last week. Devon and Birdie Lue Roper and family visited parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Roper. The Town Board arranged for the county cat to be here last Saturday Satur-day and many unsightly trees were removed as a beginning of a clean up and toeautification campaign. Sugarvillc VENICE DAVIS Venice Davis and LaRene Davis made a tr!p to Salt Lake for a visit with parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Lundgreen of Taylorsville and Mr. and Mrs. Russell McBnde and family fam-ily of Salt Lake. They returned on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Meinhardt are proud grandparents of a fine batoy girl born to Mr. and Mrs. Bob Meinhardt of Orem. Congratula tions. Saturday night the Jolly Stitchers had their last card party of the season with Venice Davis, Maxine Bishop and Lucille Kimber as hos tesses. A hot pot luck supper was served at 7:30. Six tables of cards were played. High scores were won by Leo Davis and Alice Jen sen, with low going to Guy Terrell and Gerry Hill. Tuesday the Relief Society ladies came out and cleaned the kitchen and Relief Society room. There being be-ing five Tuesdays in this month, after the work was done a pot luck SECOND WARD AREA NEWS BRIEFS BARBARA BLACK Mr. and Mrs. Kay Basset t were home for the weekend to visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Bassett. ...Mr. and Mrs. Carl Warner had company for the weekend. Carl's two sisters and their husbands of Salt Lake came down for an overnight over-night stay Saturday. They are Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Utley and Mr. and Mrs. Ward Dorrity. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Barben re port tihey had a very enjoya'ble trip over the Easter weekend with a few members of their family. Their, son, Keith and his family came down from Brigham City where they have just purchased a new home. Linda Kay Barben who is going to school in Logan came with them. Arch, Eddys, Linda, Keith and his family left Delta Friday to go to Glen Canyon Dam and Page, Ariz. Keith's in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Verle Henrie and their three daughters of Marysvale, made the trip with them. They re port they really had a wonderful time and saw some beautiful sights. Among them was watching the huge head of water going out to Lake Mead from Glen Canyon Dam. They went thru the Indian Reservation, over Navajo Bridge, saw Jacobs Lake, thru Kaibab For est, Fredonia, Ariz, and Zion National Na-tional Park. Sounds like a very nice trip. Linda went on to St. George Saturday to visit friends at Dixie Jr. College and attend the D-Day activities. She also made a quick trip to Las Vegas before re turning to Delta. Sunday, she and lunch was served to ten ladies. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Losee on the birth of their baby girl. June came home from the hospital Sunday. Gerry Hill and Artie made a trip to Spanish Fork for a doctor's appointment ap-pointment Thursday. Keith and family returned to Brigham Brig-ham City and Logan. I have been meaning to mention each week about the picture of one of our members in the March issue of the Relief Society magazine. Mrs. Inez Moody is pictured with mem'bers of the Rarotongan Mission Mis-sion Relief Society of Which she is president. (It's wonderful to see her via this picture. We wish her and Mr. Moody continued success in their labors while presiding over the Rarotongan Mission. Peggy and Grant Crane hare visitors vis-itors from Sparks, Nev. staying with them for a while. They are Peggy's brother, Sid Carter and hla wife, Luwana and baby. While there they helped to celebrate the first birthday of their grandson.
