Carter Saturday, May 11 in a ceremony performed by Bishop Merlin Chris'nsen in Delta Third Ward Chapel. Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Earl Willden of Delta. The groom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Melv n B. Carter of Vancouver, Van-couver, Wash. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Webb stood in for the parents of the groom. The father of the bride gave his daughter in marriage. Attending her were her sister MarJean Mc-Collin, Mc-Collin, matron of honor; Myrle All- mark and Yvonna Osburn, sisters, of the br.de, and Jean Winfu'ld, Kathy Martin and Ferrell Treland , were maids of honor. Flower girls were Christine Dutson, Teresa I Simpson and Cheryl Osburn. Best man duties were assumed f- by Max McCollin, brother-in-law of t the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Twitchell began their studio in Delta at the end of January, and this will be their first opportunity to present their students to the people of Delta and the surrounding surround-ing area. There were 75 poppies sold in less than an hour. Mr. and Mrs. Norvel Chrlstensen Owens to Salt received word that their grandson, Larry Stevens, had been awarded a Hopes of America Award. The award is based on leadership, character and scholarship. Larry is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dee Stevens Ste-vens and attends the Newman Grade School.
