Show FIRST WARD AREA HEWS BRIEFS LEONA WORKS Mrs. Deibert Crapo, Mrs. Tony Dearden and Mrs. Don Rowley of Fillmore, Mrs. Grant Stevens and Mrs. Jay Stevens of Holden came over and had dinner with Mrs. Blanch Works and spent the afternoon after-noon visiting with other members of the Works family. Mr. and Mrs. Seth Jackson and Sheldon were in Salt Lake Saturday Satur-day to help Mr. and Mrs. LaVerl Jackson move to a larger apartment. apart-ment. Mr. and Mrs. Deibert Crapo and Loy of Fillmore and Mr. and Mrs. Cleed Crapo of Salt Lake visited in Delta Sunday with Mrs. Blanch Works and other members of the family. Funeral services were held Saturday Sat-urday at 1 p.m. in the First Ward Chapel for Mrs. Mae Peterson Fullmer. Full-mer. Friends and relatives from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Russell (Helen) Grange and family, Miss Nedra Fullmer, Provo, and and Collins Col-lins and Kenneth Fullmer of Salt Lake. They are the children of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Fullmer; Mr. and Mrs. Emery Peterson, Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Will Fullmer and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Poulsen, Tooele; Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Fullmer and Mr. and Mrs. Williams, Payson; Mr. and Mrs. Don Fullmer, Sunset; Mr. and Mrs. Arland Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. Tex Searle, Mrs. Wilma Searle, Mr. Sid Searle, Mrs. Frank Tennant and Mrs. Betty Day and family, sons and daughters here were Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Fullmer and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Fullmer and family and Mr. and Mrs. James (Beverly) Boulder, all of Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. DeRay Fullmer and family, and Roger and Darlene Blis'l Visitors at the home of Mrs. Vir-gie Vir-gie Broderick were also here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Broderick and Alan, of Roy; Mrs. Max Kay, Bountiful; Mrs. Jerry Paxton and Mr. and Mrs. Dean Broderick, Orem; Mrs. Erma Gour-ley, Gour-ley, Eureka; Mrs. Leola (Shiner) Hawley, Provo; and Mrs. Nelda (Shiner) Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Albrich, Freemont; Mr. Allen Searle, Salt Lake; Mrs. Lottie Anderson, Mrs. Lu Taylor, of Loa; and Mr. Burt Hector of Moab. I'm sure there were many others that I was unable to get their names. It was a large funeral and I'm sure the family appreciated all that were present. I guess you have all read about the Mobil Economy Run. It was through Delta Sunday. The Run left Los Angeles Saturday morning. There were 36 cars that left a minute min-ute apart. The cars had been picked pick-ed at random, had not been adjusted ad-justed and were locked up until time to start the run to see which car got the best mileage on gas and oil. Car number 36 was the first to reach Delta. It was a Chrysler pro duct. They stayed in Las Vegas Saturday night and arrived in Del ta Sunday at 3:15. There were 12 official cars, a panel truck with a camera, and a medical car. The cars all had yellow yel-low decals on with Economy Run on them. Each car had three people in it, a driver, a relief driver and anb oserver. The observer was to watch the speed. If anyone exceeded ex-ceeded the speed they were dis qualified. The cruising speed from 1 Holden to the "Y" at Delta was 50 1 miles an hour. There were cars j with family combinations. The Run ' will come to an end at Detroit Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Draper and daughter, Elizabeth Ann and Veann Draper of Salt Lake spent the weekend in Delta at the Clark Draper home. Mr. Dale Estes was in Delta to take Glenda and baby Elizabeth back to Salt Lake. They had been visiting with the Grant Snows for a week. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Wood were down for the week to visit and attend at-tend open house at Mrs. Norma Wright's for Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Wood. Our sympathy goes to Mr. and Mrs. Lon Wood and family. Mrs. Nettie Cheynoweth ol Salt Lake visited with relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Winsor and Mr. and Mrs. Angus Myers and with friends a-round a-round Delta last week. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Taylor and three boys of Clearfield were visiting vis-iting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Little of Delta and , Mr. and Mrs. Bert Roper of Oak , City, came and went thru our new i hospital. They were really thrilled j with it. Mrs. Wells Xenney and Mrs. Margaret Mar-garet Jackson of Holden visited in Delta Monday at the LaMont Works and Seth Jacksons. Jerry Huff and Michael Bunker were home over the weekend. Mrs. Carolyn Bennett and Bob i and a nephew John Riding of Provo were in Salt Lake last weekend to see a sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Gladen Dalton who are leaving leav-ing the end of the month for an LDS Mission to Brazil. They also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Mason Cattom of Mesa, Ariz. Their son John Cattom left for a mission to Austria. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Hawley have returned to Delta after a twomos. stay in Provo where he was work lng at a Standard Station. He is again at the Delta Station. Mrs. Lola Famsworth and Mr. Cecil Orton were in Panguitch last Sunday visiting with their mother. Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Workman received re-ceived a call from Merlin Sunday saying they had arrived in Salt Lake for conference. They will visit in Delta later this week. Mr. and Mrs. Owen W. Hone and son and daughter, of Kaysville spent Saturday night at the Workman Work-man home. They were on their way I to Richfield to attend a missionary I testimonial for a nephew who was I leaving for a mission in Germany. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ashby and ba by of Ogden spent a day with the Workmans. They went on to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Truman Ashby. Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Workman were in Salt Lake last week for medical checkups. They also visited with their children. Mrs. Blanch Works received word Tuesday morning of the death of Mr. Ray Chapman, of Sterling, Utah He was the husband of Mrs. Works' niece, Genevieve Swensen Hansen Chapman. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Nickle and Mr. and Mrs. Ward Killpack were in Las Vegas the first of the week to attend a Mortician Convention. Mrs. Rosabeth Kennington of Tooele Too-ele was at the drug store while Ward was away. Mr. and Mrs. James Nickle. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Gardner attended the USU Alumni dinner meeting at Cafe Ilene in Fillmore Wednesday night. Clarence Rollins of Riverside, Calif., is here with Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Pace. He is the husband of Beryl Pace Rollins. He is here doing some work on his ranch at "Whiskey Creek". Mr. and Mrs. William Fullmer, Mr. and Mrs. Don (Arnola Bennett) Fullmer and Robert Fullmer and Millie and Sally were here for the funeral and also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Pat Maher. Mrs. Fullmer is a sister of Ruth's. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Snow and family arrived in Delta' Tuesday from Preston, Idaho. They will make their home here and be living liv-ing in our ward. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grygla and son Garry of Sandy stopped over night with the Ervin Allred family. They had been in Page, Ariz., visiting visit-ing with Robert's sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Snyder. Mrs. Ida Hardy and daughter, Sherlene visited in Delta last week end with the Floyd Hardys and Mr. and Mrs. Verl Allen and family. Mrs. Hardy is a sister of Mrs. Allen. Oak City News MAE H. SHIPLEY A very fine annual day of the Relief Society was held Friday evening. ev-ening. We are happy to have our bishop home again and taking charge of the fast meeting services Sunday. Bishop Finlinson has been at Cedar City most of the past two weeks for surgery and medical care. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Finlinson had all their children and grandchildren grandchild-ren home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Shipley were in Salt Lake Sunday and Monday to visit with their children and help celebrate their son Larry's birthday. Congratulations and welcome home to Mr. and Mrs. George H. Anderson who were married Friday, March 29th at the Arizona Temple. Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Walker have been visiting in Salt Lake with their children the past week. The Burnis Finlinson family and other relatives and friends were in Salt Lake Sunday to wave farewell to Elder Kent Finlinson, who went by jet plane to his missionary labors la-bors at the Northern British Mis sion. Success to you Kent in your missionary work. The Oak City Explorers spon sored a physical fitness overnight camp Friday night for the Stake Scout Troops. Scout leaders and many boys enjoyed this experience. They returned home Saturday. Byrant Anderson and Dale Pratt were advanced in the Aaronic Priesthood Sunday. Byrant as a teacher and Dale to the priest quorum. Mr. and Mrs. Marlow Anderson and children visited Saturday and Sunday in Salt Lake with relatives. Mrs. Kathleen Anderton and daughter dau-ghter Sharon of Richfield visited in Oak City Saturday and Sunday with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Nielson of Lynndyl and Mrs. Hazel Walker of Sutherland visited during the week with Mr. Collier Lovell. Mr. and Mrs. DeLynn Nielson and baby girl of Salt Lake visited a few days with their mother, Twiss Nielson. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Finlinson took their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Finlinson to California for a few weeks visit. Mr. and Mrs. Devon Roper were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Roper. They have a lovely new car and Sunday was a good day to enjoy a ride. Mrs. Hazel Walker had a group of ladies in and enjoyed a quilting party last week.
