The young people interested in 4-H work and their parents went to Leamington last Wednesday nite and met with the Leamington 4-H members and parents. Mrs. LaVell Turner of Fillmoie was there and .showed a film on the proper ways to dress. Mrs. Louise Lovell of Leamington- took charge. U...S program. The band played several numbers, then the girls and boys choruses sang. It was very enter- I I taming. Steven Church sang "Some,', .,,, : u.. -c Enchanted Evening" and Jane Turner Tur-ner sang "Bali Hi." These numbers are from the opera "South Pacific", which will be presented April 5th and 6th. Mr. DaGrade is a wonderful wonder-ful music teacher. We should all be grateful our students have the opportunity to be taught by such a qualified teacher. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Wilkins went to Richfield Friday night to see their daughter, Enla and family. fam-ily. . Saturday they all went down to Glen Canyon and then viewed the place where the movie, "The Greatest Story Ever Told" was filmed. , They returned home Sunday Sun-day after having a wonderful trip. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Bradfield and son Thayne of Las Vegas spent Sunday at the home of Jay's, parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Brad-field. Brad-field. Mildred Halsey of Delta spent Sunday afternoon with Lawrence Bradfield. Mr. and Mrs. Ivie Jay Nielson of Salt Lake spent the weekend with his parents, Mr .and Mrs. Irving Nielson. Lawrence and Don Bradfield went to Nephi Saturday and had some dental work done. Many people from here attended the Golden Wedding Anniversary Sunday in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Axel Johnson in Leamington. It is wonderful when people can celebrate cele-brate their 50th anniversary and still look as young as Aunt Maud and Uncle Axel do. I don't believe they have aged any in the last 30 years. I only hope they can be well and enjoy many more years together. There is so much sickness in town. The program in Sacrament meeting meet-ing was given Sunday night by Mr. Niederhauser's Seminary class from Delta. Bishop Ph:l Nielson conducted conduct-ed and announced that next Sunday Sun-day night the Levari Ward was bringing a music concert to Leamington Leam-ington Ward and our ward was invited in-vited to attend. Talks were given by Emma Lee May, Marie Whitely, Markus Skeem and Mr. Neiderhauser. Songs by Margo Rose, and Judy Jeffery, accompanied by Alice Gay Bliss. Remarks by Bishop Nielson and;cille and families and Mr. Styler's prayers by Randall Allen and David Hansen. It was a very good program. pro-gram. Also attending church in our ward from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Orin Bliss, Darrel Scow, Mr. and Mrs. Alma Banks and Mrs. Jane Williams and Glen Lee Roper. The Lynndyl and Leamington MI -A are going to Hinckley Friday night roller skating. Nine to ly and Mrs. Waymond Marshall of Tooele came to Delta and visited Wednesday, March 13. Jean and Sally visited their grandmother, Mrs. Sarah McCullough and with friends. Julia visited her mother, Mrs. Zola Lambright. Zola and Merrill Mer-rill went back to Tooele with them and spent the weekend and enjoyed en-joyed the Marshall's new home which they recently bought. Mr. and Mrs. Al Willden and Mr. LaRee McClellan made a trip to Arizona last week to visit Mr. and Mrs. Wilford McClellan. We found father in good health. The weather was pretty lousy. It snowed on us all the way to Cedar City and rained rain-ed cats and dogs in Arizona, but we enjoyed our trip. We visited Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Henrie in Las Vegas. THIS WEEK'S NEWS I hope this wind doesn't get as vicious as the one last week. We may be blown away. Mrs. Eulalla Riding spent a week in Salt Lake visiting with her sons. While there Evan was rushed to the hospital for an operation. He had an appendectomy. His mother says he was a very sick boy. Her son Tom and wife brot her home Sunday afternoon. Just received word that my father fath-er met with an accident in Arizona. No one was seriously hurt, altho shook up and his car is out of running run-ning order. Miss Eonnie Willden and Leslie Welton spent Saturday and Sunday in Delta with their parents. Accompanying Accom-panying them were Lee Hanson and Paul Carter. Paul and Bonnie attended a wedding reception in Milford for Darrell Roberts and Joyce Gronning. She is the daughter daugh-ter of Carlyle Gronning. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Welton during the weekend were Mr. Earl Talbot and Clark Talbot and families of Magna, Mag-na, Mrs. Cornell Vest of Salt Lake and Mrs. Norma McKeller of Magna; Mag-na; Arvilla Wielders, Salt Lake; Jerry and Sandra McKellar, Magna; Mag-na; and Bob Vest, Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. J. Val Styler returned return-ed home from their lovely trip to California and Arizona. They report having had a good trip visiting their two daughters, Nella and Lu four sisters that live in California Mrs. Elizza Davis of Cedar City spent Wednesday and Thursday visiting vi-siting relatives and stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Roundy. Dorothy Natonie had a birthday March 28. Some of the girls gave her a surprise party. Max and Marjean Stanworth were down from Salt Lake City. AREA NEWS BRIEFS have the vounz folks dron in. The farewell testimonial for Elder El-der Kay Christensen Sunday night was attended by a large crowd of family and friends. Uncles and aunts of Kay's attending were Dr. and Mrs. Grant Christensen and family of Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Dee Roundy; Mr. and Mrs. Len Al-vey; Al-vey; Mr. and Mrs. Talmadge Christensen, Chris-tensen, of Richfield; Mr. and Mrs. Gary Roper and Mrs. Afton Dutson of Oak City. Many classmates, also were in attendance. Mr. Dean Perkins Per-kins from Dixie College, Mr. Junior Songer from Logan and from all the various wards in the Delta area. Mr. and Mrs. Garth Tolbert and family visited the Clinton Tolberts. Mr. and Mrs. Vance West and two children of Brigham City visited visit-ed Mr. and Mrs. Evan Christensen Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin (Lucille) Smith visited in Delta Sunday wiiii Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Bennion. Sister Byrle Bennion is home after spending spend-ing the winter in Provo with the family. She says she is feeling much better. . Mrs. Ed Theobald is home after spending one- month in Salt Lake where she had surgery. 1 3 RUBY SKEEM Mr. and Mrs. Bob Kent of Salt Lake City visited with Mr. and Mrs. Glen Skeem. We were happy to hear of Eldon and MarGene Rowley's new baby girl, born March 28. Clark and LaVeda Bishop received receiv-ed word of a new grandchild born in Cedar City to David and Roma Bishop. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Skeem went to Salt Lake to see their little grandson, Gye, who is now out of the hospital after having been operated op-erated on. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Johnson of Salt Lake spent a few days with his brother, Albert Johnson. Jack recently had an operation. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Webb o Granger were down to have their new baby named Cindy Kay. Jimmy Stanworth, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Stanworth, broke his wrist Saturday while riding rid-ing a calf. The calf ran into an old bedstead and caught his arm. Jimmy is in the fourth grade and will soon be 10 years old. Mrs. Cassie Johnson had a dinner din-ner party at her home Sunday. SasSarville VENICE DAVIS Vivian Talbot and Caroline Laurence Lau-rence of Salt Lake visited this week with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cal Boothe. Caroline stayed longer as her Lttle son came down with the measles. Mr. and Mrs. Alden Shurtz and family made a trip to Salt Lake to return their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Memmott after visiting visit-ing here for two weeks with their children, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Lo-see Lo-see and family, Mr. and Mrs. Alden Al-den Shurtz and family and Mr. and Mrs. Berdell Memmott and family in Oasis. We were happy to have tnem here for a vis't- daughter Helen that their home in Idaho burned to the ground. We are sure sorry to hear this. It was rented and they are living elsewhere. else-where. But its a big loss to them. Bishop and Mrs. Frelen Shurtz made a trip to Provo last week. They report their mother is some better and is up and around again. Virginia Jensen of Salt Lake is home for the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jensen Jen-sen and family. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Oliver and family fa-mily of Salt Lake visited Sunday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Oliver and family. LaRay Greene, Linda Bird and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Greene of Salt Lake visited Sunday with their mother, mo-ther, Lois Greene, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Davis and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Davis. Elden Shurtz visited in Salt Lake with his wife and little daughter. Kay Lynn was operated on last week and is now getting well. We hope she will soon be able to come home. Marjorie Clark made a trip to Salt Lake to meet her cousin on Thursday. She will visit here with them for a few weeks.
