St. Patrick's Day, and a real bad snow storm. It makes me hope everyone ev-eryone has a warm place to get into. There are always a lot of accidents when it snows. Its only just began to snow and the grounds covered already. Elder Warren Petersen has been home from the Florida Mission for two weeks and I haven't seen him yet. We went to conference this after noon and heard Prof. De jong and his wife give wonderful talks as well as Sister Afton Hunt. And our own local people. Don and I enjoyed a few of the State Tournament Tour-nament games. Some of them wera really close. The championship game between Judge Memorial and B.Y. High was one of the best games I have ever seen. Anyhow we can all relax for another season. Mr. and Mrs. Vert Barney just re turned last week from a visit in California. They visited in Martinez, Marti-nez, Calif., with their son, Gordon and family, then went to Fullerton and visited with Mr. and Mrs. Mer lin Theobald and children. They also visited in Paso Robles with Vert's sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Parkin, and then visited in San Jose with their other son, Ralph and his family. They enjoyed en-joyed a wonderful trip visiting with all their family. Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Black visited over the weekend in Ogden with relatives and friends. They returned home Sunday night. Mr. and Mrs. Merton Lovell of St'. George spent the weekend in Delta with their mother, Mrs. Vera Hilton. Linda Barben who is attending school in Dixie spent the weekend in Delta with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Barben. Also visiting at the Barben home was Darrel Buhanan. On Saturday Archie and Eddys, Linda, and Colleen Stewart and baby Russell visited in Logan with Mr. and Mrs. Keith Barben and children. They were also able to visit with their son Gordon while there. Mr. and Mrs. June W. Black spent a couple of days up north this week. They brot back their granddaughter, Robin Robison of Provo, to spend a few days with them. Joe Lyman, who is attending school in Provo, spent the weekend in Delta with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Lyman. Mr. and Mrs. John Telchert, of Cokeville, Wyo., are the proud parents par-ents of a baby boy born last week and weighing in at 8 lbs. 1 oz. Mrs. Teichert is the former Dorothy Black, daughter .of Mrs. Deona Black. Deona went up to Cokeville last week to spend a few days with the family. Lorene Smith, Pauline Tolbert and John Black went up over the weekend and brot Deona home. Dorothy and John have six children now, four boys and two girls. Congratulations to them. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Lyman and daughters Ruth Ann and Mary spent Saturday in Salt Lake enjoying en-joying the tournament; Our young married class met at the home of Kent and Sandra Dewsnup Monday night. A very good lesson was given by Mr. and Mrs. Golden Black. Refreshments were served to a large crowd. Mrs. Lyle Bunker returned home this week from a trip to San Deigo, Calif. She visited with her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Kalan-quin. Kalan-quin. She enjoyed a good trip. Mrs. Louis M. Lyman is in the St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City, recovering from an operation. Mary tells me she is feeling pretty good, but will be in there for a while yet. Virginia Henrie Johnson made a Golden Gleaner, which requires lots of work and achievement. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Ashby (Colleen (Col-leen Riding) were at the Jay Full mer home Thursday. They had their baby Jody with them. They live in Ely, Nevada now. The ladies of Abraham donated 50 sets of nice flat wear to the new hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Petersen are the proud parents of fine baby boy born in Salt Lake recently. I hear they are moving to Ogden where Arnold has employment. Orville and Delia Deems went through the temple with their daughter dau-ghter Conra when she was married recently. Some one told me you couldn't tell which was the happiest hap-piest couple that day. Nayon and Eugene Young went to the temple with them, also. While up that way Nayon and Eugene visited over the weekend with their kids, David and Geniel Young in Salt Lake. Tom and Velda Riding of Kearns had Sunday dinner with Mrs. Eulalla Riding then came to visit the Jay Fullmers. j Halley Kay Young is fighting a! bout with the flu, in fact, several of our neighbors are ailing at present. pre-sent. Js it Asiatic flu or just plain flu? Mr. Earl Bliss of Kearns was an over night guest of Clark and Reva Bliss Sunday night. Clark and Reva Bliss drove their new truck to Payson Sunday to visit the Stanley Bliss family. We have another new grandson, our 44th. He is the 7 lb. son of Dick and Norma Riding Fullmer of looele. He has five brothers and sisters at home waiting for him. We have two great-grandchildren. Kay and Carmellia Hoelzle took their little son Joy (Raymond) to Salt Lake for an operation Thurs day and haven't returned as yet. He was in the LDS Hospital for surgery. Garland and Phyllis and Jill Johnson drove to Logan Thursday to get daughter Jackie who is going go-ing to USU there. Private LeeRay Talbot, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Talbot, is home on a 15-day furlough from Ft. Leonard-wood, Leonard-wood, Missouri. He will report to Camp Rucker, Alabama when his furlough is up. Mr. and Mrs. Gam Thompson of Magna visited the Lee Talbots over the weekend. - Lee Talbot who is working in OASIS RUBY SKEEM to hear from her friends here at home. Bishop A. E. Stephenson is back home again after spending a little time in the hospital in Salt Lake. He is feeling much better now. We hope he gets up and around real fast. Mrs. Nell Watson is still on the sick list. Our prayers are certainly with her for a fast and speedy recovery. re-covery. "Happy Birthday" this week to Verdella Adams, Dorothy Webb, Deana Clements and Elaine Bliss. Mrs, Eliza Rawlinson enjoyed several visitors over the weekend. Her daughter, Lynette Thorderson and son Larry of Cleveland, Utah, were home, also Mr. and Mrs. Donald Batty and Nathan' Day of Vernal visited with her. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Rawlinson and Harvey Rawlinson also visited over Sunday with Mrs. Rawlinsjn. Most of the Rawlinson family came for the farewell testimonial in Sutherland for Lewis Rawlinson who is going on a mission. Thanks to all of you who faithfully faith-fully call your news items in. I really appreciate it. See you next week. June Stanworth took her baby into in-to Salt Lake City for a check up. She says the doctor is very pleased with the way the baby has gained. June and Merna Stanworth spent Thursday in Fillmore. Mr. and Mrs. Margon Anderson of Salt Lake visited with relatives in Oasis, Mrs. Verta Stanworth and Mrs. Grant Peterson. Mr. Howard Roundy spent a day in Ely last week. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Gardner and son Paul Roundy spent the day with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Roundy Mr. and Mrs. Dave Nichols have a new car, also, Mr. and Mrs. Durb Skeem. Beulah Rowley started for E-phraim E-phraim to get Steve, who had been visiting, and threw a car rod in Nephi. I think all school children en joyed their spring vacation even if they were snowed in part of the time. La Veda Bishop went to Salt Lake to attend her granddaughter's, Di ane Lovell, graduation from nurs ing school. Clark and Laveda Bishop- went to Cedar City to spend a day with Mr. and Mrs. David Bishop and family. Eating dinner at the home of Beulah Rowley were her father, Mr. Les Webb, Mr. Gary Webb of Salt Lake, Herb and Wanda of Layton and Calvin Webb of Tooele. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Skeem and children of Salt Lake City spent Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Skeem and other relatives rela-tives in Oasis and Hinckley. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Bradfield and Evelynn and Mr. and Mrs. La-Vell La-Vell Bradfield of Salt Lake spent Saturday in Delta and Oasis visiting visit-ing relatives. Mr. Floyd Skeem celebrated his birthday by having a family dinner. din-ner. Lois Peterson will celebrate her birthday March 22nd. Ethel M. Stanworth will celebrate her birthday today, March 21. She is looking for most of her children home for a family dinner. ACCEPTS SECRETARIAL POSITION Gloria Allred, 19, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orin Allred of Deseret, ! has accepted a secretarial position at ions First National Bank in Salt Lake City, it was announced Wednesday Wed-nesday by I. W. Stevens, president of Stevens Henager College. Miss Allred was placed by Stev-; ens Henager College, where has her parents, the Leroy Andersons. I Mrs. Ardella Spong and baby have gone back to Syracuse, New York to join her husband. She has oeen in Uak Otv the Dast two months while he has been away on government work. Mr. Jay Peterson and family of Salt Lake visited his sisters, Betty and Eda Christensen. Mr. Richard Talbot was home over the weekend from Logan. He had a friend, Miss Ludean Woodward Wood-ward with him. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Prisbrey and children visited Saturday with parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Talbot. A very nice farewell dance and program was held Saturday night for Elder Kent Finlinson He will enter the mission home March 25. j Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Gordon' Shipley and Frankie and Mr. and j Mrs. Barton Shipley visited their' grandmother Shipley. They also at- j tended Kent's dance. completed a secretarial finishing course. She enrolled at the college in June, following her graduation from Delta High School. She was a member of the Pep Club and Future Homemakers of America at the high school. Miss Allred now resides at 141 Coatsville Ave., Salt Lake City. Mrs. Janet Torrens and children spent last week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Finlinson. Elder David Lyman visited his aunt, Harriet Finlinson last week. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Lyman of Provo and has just recently re-cently returned from a mission. Harriet returned home with him and then she went on to Salt Lake for a check up. Mr. and Mrs. Merton Lovell and children of St. George were visitors over the weekend at Oak City and Delta. Miss Barbara Lovell of Delta spent a few days visiting Miss Leslie Les-lie Anderson. Mrs. Laurel Prisbrey and son Thayne of Salt Lake visited with her father, George Anderson over the weekend. Wilmer and Kathleen Anderton and children were visitors from Richfield. Mr. Myron Christensen and sons Dale and Mark visited his mother Esther Christensen. Mr. and Mrs. Jerald Finlinson and children were Oak C.ty visitors from Logan. Jerald has a job in Denver, Colo.
