"May it wave proudly forever, a glorious living symbol of human dignity." Linda Lake, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Lake of Salina, spent last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Hawlsy. I and Mrs. Louis Overson and Keith, from Lynndyl;'Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Schuab (Jannet) and family, of Ely, Nev.; Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Overson and family, of Murray; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Christensen (Arlene) and family, of Salt Lake; and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Overson and baby of Bountiful. Another son, Roger, Mrs. Susan Sister, of Modesto, ! who recently moved to Washington Calif., who has been vacationing at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nathan LaRue and family, left here' Saturday morning for California. 1 Mr. and Mrs. Keith Nielson and children spent Thursday at the Manti Temple. I Mr. and Mrs. Carl Benson and was unable to attend. They all had a wonderful time. Congratulations to Don Great-house, Great-house, who graduated from the University of Utah last week with his master's degree. Kathlynn Nielson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Nielson left Sun Sandra went to Salt Lake Friday day for Logan to attend the "15th for Conference and to visit their son, Donald and family. The bridal party received guests in front of a lighted candelabra adorned ad-orned wth flowers. The bride's loveliness was enhanced en-hanced by her gown of traditional white satin and lace, with molded bodice and bouffant skirt. A tiara of seed pearls and iridescents released re-leased her fingertip veil of Illusion. She carried a bouquet of baby pink roses and white chrysanthemums. Bridal attendants were Mrs. Natalie Nat-alie Bennett, matron of honor, gowned in blue brocade, and the bridesmaids Connie Cropper and Carla Davis, in pink brocade sheatli gowns. Margie Hale was flower girl. Carl D. Bennett performed duties of best man for Mr. Clark. Barbara Crafts was in chage of the guest book. Floral arrangements arrange-ments were by Mrs. Virginia. Cowers. Cow-ers. In charge of the gifts were Mrs. Violet Robinson, Mrs. Lee Bracken and Mrs. Erma Cropper. Mrs. Choral Clark was mistress of ceremonies for the program. A toast to the newly weds was by Mrs. Fern Wilson, aunt of the bride. Vocal solos were by Virginia Done, accompanied by Virginia Jensen, and Sherill Tolbert. Kay Nielsen and sister danced. The trio of Kathleen Kath-leen Nickle, Barbara Crafts and Janet Stanworth sang a medley of; love songs, The young couple honeymooned in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will make their home in Bountiful where Mr. Clark has employment. x - , ) is .ui u. There were 1185 students graduating. I have never witnessed such a thing as I did seeing all those students and professors march in in their black caps and gowns. The graduating address was given by President Daryl Chase, and an interesting talk by brother Alma Sonne, chairman chair-man of the Board of Trustees was enjoyed by all. Music was furnished by the Utah State Symphony Or chestra. Students graduating from down this way were Raymond Cal lister, Nola Shields, Lon Jackson, ElwLn Wright, Kent Dewsnup and Jay Bradfield. Congratulations to all of you. Saturday -evening we went out to Mendon and visited with Floyd and Nila Roundy, their daughter Florence and two children. child-ren. Their son, Rodney, is in Florida on an LDS Mission and is enjoying his work very much. The Roundys lived in Lynndyl several years ago. We left Logan Sunday morning, stopping in Salt Lake to see our ilanphtpr Hnvma It was Don's birthday, so we had a birthday din-! lev ner at Rayma's. LaWrene stayed in Salt Lake for her vacation. We brought our 22 month old grandson Thayne home with us and we are surely enjoying him. Jay came home with us also, but went right on to Las Vegas Monday to look for work and an apartment. He will teach there this fall. Beverly Eliason was co-hostess. co-hostess. Eighteen ladies were present. pre-sent. I Roma Ekins from Hinckley was our guest. She gave a review of the book, "The Mountain Meadows Massacre." It was really very interesting in-teresting and the hour and a half it took to tell it, passed in no time. We had all heard parts of this story but to hear all about it was interesting inter-esting and enlightening. We feel that Roma did us a big favor in coming to our meeting and wish she would come again with some more stories. After the book review prizes were drawn for; Nora Cropper, Maesa Cropper and Blanche Crafts all won beautiful plants. Lucretia Teeples won the door prize, which was a lovely planter to hang on the wall. Lucretia really deserved this prize as she has furnished all the pre vious door prizes so we were glad for her. After delicious refreshments were served Dy tne hostesses, It was time to go home, but we stayed on Beverly had made two cute little planters out of cups and saucers and had the materials necessarv and! to make them if anv one so de sired. So twelve of. us made a pair each. They are real cute and didn't take too long to make. Most of us were home shortly after midnight and we had something to show for our efforts, as well as an Interesting Inter-esting account of the massacre to think about. Piano Iteeital Set for Saturday Mrs. Glena Moody announces that a piano recital of her students will be held Saturday, June 17, at 7:30 p.m. in Delta Second Ward Relief Society room. The recital is open to the public. Students appearing will be Carol Gardner, Nadene Ogden, Karen Eliason, Eli-ason, David Jeffery and Gayla Jef-fery. Jef-fery. President Lydia Evans Ev-ans presided. Roll call was answered with interesting in-teresting readings and comments were given on the articles read. We were happy to have Carrie Black join us again. She had spent the winter in California with Lora and Kenneth Skidmore and family who lived here several years ago. She told us of their kind treatment treat-ment of her and how they took her to so many places of interest in the San Francisco Bay area. She was happy to see several people from Delta while there. meeting will be at her home Ruthie Searle played several selections se-lections on her accordion. Our next meeting will be at her home. Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess. modeling, clothing construction, accessories, ac-cessories, etc. This will be a most worthwhile meeting and we encourage encou-rage you to attend. STITCHETTES 4-H CLUB The Stitchettes 4-H Club held their 4th meeting at the home of our leader, Mrs. Porter. Karen Justesen called the meeting meet-ing to order, then Sue Turner gave a talk on hair, grooming. We worked on our sewing projects pro-jects and planned our community service. After that the meeting was adjourned. Reporter, Dianne Abbott Mildred Baker Keyser, a gradu ate of Delta High School, received a Master of Arts degree from Texas Western College on June 3rd. In 1940, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree, with high honors, from the University of Utah. Fine Arts Guild The final meeting of the season for the Fine Arts Guild was held last Wednesday evening with Mrs. Donna O. Ash of Pleasant Grove presenting the program, on Japanese Japa-nese homes and culture. Mrs. Ash is at present Supervisor of elementary schools in the Alpine District and is a former teacher in a Naval Dependents School in Japan. Ja-pan. Joyce Long is the newly elected president of the club filling the vacancy va-cancy left by Dorothy Hansen when she and Mr. Hansen moved to Pro vo. Replacing Mrs. Long as Sec retary-Treasurer will be V e r n a Shepherd. Merlene Callister is the new Historian and Program Chairmen Chair-men are LaVonne Morrison and Nell Callister. Meetings will resume in September. Fidelity Cluh Fidelity Club members were entertained en-tertained at the home of Hannah Larsen on Thursday, June 1. A very delicious dinner was served to Leatha Bennett, Ella Black, Dorothy Gardner, Ora Gardner, Gard-ner, Verna Gardner, Vivian Holman, Arte Henderson, Inez Moody, Donna Sorenson, Thelma Seegmiller, Ava Starley, Zola Wright, Clara Kill-pack, Kill-pack, and guests Adrian Hansen and Kathleen Wankier. Following dinner Adrian Hansen gave a very fine book review on the origin of the Pearl of Great Price. Mrs. Ruth Steele, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Heyborne and two sons, Bruce and Kevin, recently took a very pleasant and interesting trip to Southern California, where they visited vis-ited the Garff Maxfield's. While In California they went to many interesting in-teresting places such as: the Griffith Grif-fith Park Observatory, Disney Land, Forrest Lawn, and the L.D.S. Temple Tem-ple in Los Angeles. They all had much fun In the California sun. you have done so you can read it in next weeks paper. Happy birthday to Gary Dutson, Terry Jones and Don Bradfield and Albert Carrington. Mr. and Mrs. John Talbot have had their daughter, Lola and their laughter-in-law, Mrs. Roy Talbot of California visiting with them. When I talked to Mrs. Talbot last she and her husband were going back to California with them for a vacation. Mrs. LaRae Greathouse Maxwell and children of Wyoming are visiting visit-ing at the home of her mother, Mrs. Margie Greathouse. Delbert Carrington, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Carrington is in Salt Lake with his brother, Jay and family. fa-mily. Mr. and Mrs. Alma Banks from Manti spent the weekend at the Herbert Abegglen home. Mrs. Camille Nielson is in Fountain Foun-tain Green with her mother, Mrs. Odvin Rosquist who is ill. The Relief Society ladies quilted two cute quilts in meeting today. A delicious lunch was served to the quilters. 4-H NEWS ....Friday, June' 9, the Mixable Fans met at Phyllis Nielson's home. Meeting was called to order by president Judy Nielson. Prayer was by Valerie Tolbert. Code led by Renee Simpson. We made breakfast of hot cakes eggs and cocoa. Mrs. Jennie Largent went on a six week vacation trip. She went j from Delta to Riverton where she visited her son Ted Largent and family; then on to Alberquerque, N. M. to visit her sister; then on to Downey, Calif., for a visit with her sister Tommy and family. She reported re-ported a very enjoyable time. Mr. Ted Largent and family visited in Delta last week with his mother, Mrs. Jennie Largent. Mrs. Alice Gardner and family took an 1100 mile trip and visited all the canyons in Southern Utah, also the Glen Canyon Dam. Our good friend and neighbor, Lily Dawson, is recovering from ' surgery in the Fillmore Hospital, i We wish her a speedy recovery.) Anyone going over drop in and say. hi to her. Her sister, Mrs. Earl (Lilac) (Li-lac) Holman, visits her every day.' It always gives me a thrill to attend such a spiri-j tual gathering. Sunday a large crowd attended, the farewell testimonial for RaNaej Willden. A very lovely program was enjoyed. Those attending from outj of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Willi Mangrum, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Graff, of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs.! Verland Willden and family, of. Kearns; Mrs. Florence Lee, Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Hamblin, Mr, and Mrs Harold Hamblin, all of Kaysville; and Mr. Noel Twitchell from the BYU at Provo. Mrs. Lela Petty visited in Delta Friday and Saturday. She just returned re-turned from a two week's trip in California visiting her daughter, Mrs. Joe (Judy) Brumley. Judy came home with her mother for a longer visit. Niland Willden, who has been hospitalized in New York City after surgery on his arm, writes hi9 parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Al Willden, that he is making a good recovery now and hopes to be as good as new again. .'.WW ."".. r ." Marie Nielson came through her operation alright, so it won't be long before she will be home. Melvin Hatch is spending a few days in Salt Lake City with his family. He went in also, to attend the MIA Dance FestivaL Our girls and boys are holding their 4-H meetings under the direction dir-ection of Mr. and Mrs. David Bag-ley. Bag-ley. The members are Jim Sabey. Betty, Mary and Robert Sims, Nancy, Nan-cy, Amy and Charles Bagley. They have been given assignments and are selecting their projects. Two, of our Bureau of Land Management Man-agement Government men are out for a visit, Vaun Bennett of Hinckley Hinck-ley and a new fellow. Mr. Childs. Our attendance at Sunday School was fairly good.
