Terry fell and sprained her aJ;le last week and is now getting around on it. Elder Shurtz and family from Salt Lake City visited over the week end and holiday with their parents, Bishop and Mrs. Frelen Shuriz. Mr. and Mrs. John Bohauin and small son are visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rufe Clark. They have been back East for a new car. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Davis entertained enter-tained at dinner, Mr. and Mrs. John Wind, Mr. and Mr. Clyde Underhill and Herman Mvisler. Mrs. Marjorie Clark and Helen Ilersleff entertained the Jolly Stitchers Stit-chers Club on Friday, with twenty-one twenty-one members present. A delicious lunch was served. Mrs. Agnes Strickley from Salt Lake City is here visiting with friends, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Davis and Helen Ilersleff over the weekend. The Ward had a swimming party last Tuesday night with a big water melon bust afterwards. Every family fam-ily in the ward was represented. We sure enjoyed a good time. We too, are a:rry to have the Deems' family move out of our community. We wish them plenty of success in their new home. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jensen made a trip this week to Salt Lake City for a medical check-up. Mr. and Mrs. John McCoy (Maureen Jensen) and small baby ughter from Durango, Colo., are visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jensen. Sunday night the program was given by the Bishopric, with Bishop Frelen Shurtz conducting. A patriotic patri-otic story by Lillie Mmmott, a piano pi-ano selection by Virginia Jensen, a duei by Inga Mae Shuru and June Loiee, accompanied by Virginia Vir-ginia Jensen end a talk by Curt Shields. Ronald Jensen and son and daughter visited church with us. Agnes Strickley and Helen Hersleff also visited Sunday School in the morning. Mrs. Henrietta Barren entertained at Sunday dinner, Agnes Strickley, Helen Hersleff, Mr. and Mrs, Leo Davis and Ixis Greene and family. Reva Losee was made president of the Young Ladies Mutual with Melva Shields being released and Elaine Losee was made a teacher in the primary. Linda Shurtz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Shurtz has been visiting in Salt Lake City for the past three weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Elden Shurtz. Many of our people have been enjoying the cool canyon these hot days. We sure hope some cool weather wea-ther is on the way, although the seed crops are conning on during the hot spell. Hershey Corp Hemes Manager In Salt Lake G. Almon Robison, a native of Hinckley, Utah, has been named Salt Lake regional manager for Hershey Chocolate Corp., it was announced an-nounced July 21. He succeeds G. A. Fox, Salt Lake City, who retired July 1 after more than 30 years with Hershey. Mr. Robison served four years in World War II and was a Bl7 bomber pilot with the Eighth Air Force In Europe. He graduated from the school of marketing of the College of Business Busi-ness of the University of Utah in 1910. Following three years service with Utah Oil Refining Co. and five years with General Foods Corp., he joined Hershey Chocolate Co, here, Mr. Robison is married to the former Nedra Searle of Delta and resides at 11)32 Texas St., Salt Lake City, Mr. end Mrs. Donald Kozina and Emmon Kozina returned home Friday Fri-day after a short visit with John Kozina who is in the Orange County Coun-ty Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Bex Maxfield, of Stockton, Calif., were Delta visitors a week ago with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Maxfield. They were returning from Chicago, where Rex attended the 43rd annual convention con-vention of Lions International. At Delta Rex and his father had dinner din-ner with the Delta Lions at their regular meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Harding Russell and children, Mark, Diane and Kent, of Salt Lake City, spent Friday in Delta with their parents, Mr. and Mra, W. J, Starley. Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Gardner and Mr. and Mrs. A. O. Gardner, of Delta, Del-ta, and Mr. and Mrs. Jay Gardner of Richfield attended the wedding and reception in Salt Lake City for Miss Karin Aronson and Eastes Murphy, of San Diego. The bride has resided in Salt Lake City several sev-eral years, coming from Moose Jaw, Saskachewan, Canada. She was an LDS convert and in coming to Utah was sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Fenton Gardner. Mr. and Mrs. Neil Heyborne and ' sons, Bruce and Kevin, returned Monday to their home in Evanston, Wyo., after a weekend visit in Delta with parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Heyborne and Mrs. Ruth Steele. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Warner were in Scipio Monday, visiting their daughter and husband, Carma and Dale Mathews, and children, Warner War-ner and Kim. The Mathews family was there from Salt Lake City to spend July 24. Kenneth Gardner, of Twin Falls. Idaho, was in Delta for the weekend week-end with his parents, Mr. -nd Mrs. Norman Gardner, and attended the Schlappi reunion Monday. His wife and family started the trip with him but were forced to stop in Salt Lake City when one of the children became ill. Mr. Gardner is bishop of a Twin Falls LDS Ward, and spoke Sunday night in Delta Second Sec-ond Ward, where his fasher is the bishop. MRS. Mrs, Kathryn Jones was a patient at the Delta hospital several days last week suffering from pneumonia. pneumo-nia. She came home Thursday. The children were taken care of by Mrs. James Elliott In Payson. Mr. Elliott visited Kathryn at the hospital Monday. He drove down from Pay son that day. Dee Nielson was home for an overnight stay with his parents, Bishop and Mrs. Reed Nielson, The Nielsens received a phone call Sunday Sun-day evening from their son.Elder Blaine Nielson who is laboring In and around Phoenix, Ariz. He says he Is enjoying his labors in spite of the 115 degree temperatures. Mr, and Mrs. Gary Nielson visited here for most of the week with the Irving NifMson family. They are on vacation from their home in Ingle-wood, Ingle-wood, a suburb of Denver. Mrs. Jane Ashby and two grand daughters went to Fillmore Wednesday Wed-nesday and spent the day visiting relatives. They went over with Phill Nielson. Stephen Stephenson, small son of Ben and Lorraine escaped serious Barbara Shurtz has been visiting in Salt Lake City a few days with her brother and family from back East. Cecil made a trip up and she returned with him. Lloyd Shurtz has been here visiting visit-ing with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Losee made a trip this week to the Manti Temple. Tem-ple. Also, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Memmott, Inga Mae Shurtz and June Losee. V J & Ycur MASSEY-FERGUS Injury Thursday when he came in contact with the belt on a grain grinder. Quick acction on the part of Alan Nielson saved the lad from getting into the machine. He was taken to the doctor at Delta where he was given first aid treatment and X-rays revealed no broken bones, but he was badly bruised and suffered serious shock. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Zitting and family left Saturday after a weeks stay here with the Roy Nielsons. They drove to Provo to visit relatives rela-tives and friends before returning to their home in Wenatchee, Wash. Mrs. Phyllis Nielson and family spent the day Monday in Spanish Fork celebrating. Mrs. Gertrude La Rue and Mrs. Lorraine Stephenson drove to Blanding Tuesday to take their little homesick Navajo youngsters. They had just been here a week and were planning on staying for the school season, but they were so unhappy they were taken back to their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Abegglen and family were in Salt Lake for the weekend. Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. Lile Johnson drove to Salt Lake and stayed over night at the Ber-nell Ber-nell Tolberts. Their daughter, Clo-rean Clo-rean Greatwood and children were there. They are moving to Denver to make their home and stopped over in Salt Lake City for a weeks visit. They came down here Saturday Satur-day afternoon and will remain until un-til Wednesday, then they will return re-turn to Salt Lake and continue their flight on to their new home. Mr. and Mrs. Nathan LaRue have relatives visiting them from California, Cali-fornia, The High Priests presidency visited visit-ed here Sunday morning in Priesthood Priest-hood meeting, E. M. Moody, Grant Snow, and Ulen Seegmiller. The Elders Quorum Counselors, Bryce Finlinson and Grover Christensen attended Sunday School and Priesthood Priest-hood meeting, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Overson have family members visiting from up state. Elder Hinton of Hurricane brot his mother to visit Bishop and Mrs. Reed Nielson Monday afternoon. Dee and Elder Hinton were missionary mission-ary companions and they served their tour of duty with the Army together in Germany, ABRAHAM MRS. AFTON FULLMER News time again but I haven't had a chance to gather news. We've been on a trip into Idaho and Bear River country. We saw some places dryer than we are, much, but Bear River Valley looks green and pretty. They are mostly under the sprinklers sprink-lers and their acres and acres of potatoes look simply beautiful. The cows are well fed and the pastures are knee deep with grass. Almon Fullmer Jr. returned after a week in Moab, with the Dave Poulsons. The Hinckley parade was very nice. We enjoyed it a lot. I couldn't tell which float. I liked best. We spotted the new location of the Max Holbrooks, but couldn't stop to see them.
