JEFFERY Married in London LDS Temple Raili Agnes Kyllikki Leppaniemi, daughter of Mrs. Aili Leppaniemi, Pori, Finland, became the bride of Elder Larry S. Jeffery, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eldro Jeffery, Nov. 7. The marriage was solomnized Dec. 5, in the London Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with Mission Pres. John D. Warner officiating. The young couple were honored at a reception after the ceremony. The reception was a mixture of Finnish and American customs. Several Se-veral of Elder Jeffery's missionary companions were present and helped with the rice throwing. The girls who served at the reception were wearing the Finnish National costumes. The groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eldro Jeffery, will fete the young couple at openhouse at their home, Saturday, Jan. 16 between ucjaioille Tleivs Mr. and Mrs. Pick Clark entertained enter-tained at a dinner Christmas day, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Foote, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Heise, Mr. and Mrs. Art Hill and Artie, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Meinhardt, and Helen Hersleff, Hal Terry and Joyce Hill. Cards were played in the evening. Mr. and Mrs. Art Hill entertained for New Year's dinner, Mr. and Mrs. John Wind, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Foote, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Heise, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Meinhardt. A party was given at the Eugene Eu-gene Memmott home for the young people. Those present were, Glen-da Glen-da Memmott, Ross and . Virginia Jensen, Bertha Perkins, Michael and Margo Rose, Deanne Young, Jackie Johnson, Joyce Hill, and Hal Terry. Chili and crackers were served. serv-ed. Miss Glenda Memmott visited in Salt Lake with relatives during the holidays. The Sunday school class of Lillie Memmott's had a party at the Rex Cook home Jan. 2. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Rex Cook,' Mr. I .eammaicn Mrs. Claudine Nielson has been visiting with friends and relatives in Los Angeles the past two weeks. Mrs. Eva Bradfield and Evalynn returned home Thursday after spending a few days in Salt Lake with Joan. Mr. and Mrs. James Nielson and family and Mr. Calvin Nielson visited vi-sited Mr. and Mrs. John M. Nielson Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. June Johnson and family of Eureka, Calif, visited Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson, Saturday. The MIA held their Gold and Green Ball Saturday night. The theme was, "Auld Lang Syne". A large crowd enjoyed a very good floor show; a dance by the scouts and Bee Hive girls, one by MIA Maids and Explorers and one by the Young Married people of Leamington Lea-mington and Lynndyl. Two songs by Laura Nielson and Wanda Nielson Niel-son and a delightful song and dance skit by Klee Finllnson and Lorna Mclntyre. The group met at Hatch's City Cafe for dinner, after which they went to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Max Robison for games and visiting. Pot-luck supper was served and an enjoyable time was had by all present. A party for the Laurels, and Ensigns En-signs and Mia Maids was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Losee, Lo-see, Jan. 1. Eighteen guests were there. Refreshments were served and a good time was had by all. We are happy to have Dick Clark wll and strong again after his operation op-eration in a Salt Lake hospital. We hope he continues to improve. Miss Kathryn Shields has returned re-turned to Idaho for the winter. Miss Nola Shields has returned to Logan, USU, after visiting here for the holidays. Sunday night the Mutual officers and leaders and the young people, attended the Stake Fireside at the Stake House. It was well attended and enjoyed by all. "A Happy New Year and a very Prosperous one for all." (and a cold one, 16" below!!!) . . . CLARA JOHNSON played several tunes on the harmonica. har-monica. Visitors New Year's day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Randale Erad'ield were, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Sherwood and children, Darla and Brent, of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kay, of Goshen, Utah; James Pay and Donna Kennen of Nephi and Nadeen Pay, home from school in St. George; Mr. and Mrs. Dee Brad-field Brad-field and boys, Mrs. Manela Moulton returned home Saturday after spending the holidays with children in Provo, Heber and Granger. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lang of St. George visited with Mr. and Mrs. Jay Nielson Thursday through Sunday. Sun-day. The weather man surprized us with little snow Wednesday night It measures 13 inches. Delbert Mitchell claimed Miss Merl Gowers as his 'bride in rites December 30 at Neohi. The bride is a daughter of Mr. ml Mrs. Ronald Gowers, of Nephi. Mr. Mitchell is a son of Mr. and .Irs. Melvin Mitchell, of Delta. The couple was honored at a wedding supper at five o'clock in .he afternoon, at the Snack Shack, in Nephi. Their marriage vows were made it half past six o'clock, in Nephi ?ourth Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A re-option re-option followed the ceremony. For her wedding the bride chose a gown of lustrous white satin, Cloor length, with full ruffled skirt and fitted bodice. Her veil was "ingertip length, and held by a tiny rrown. She carried a bouquet of -ed roses and white carnations. Bridal attendants were Joann ?rice, Shirley Stephenson and Marie Ma-rie Turner, gowned in pastel colored col-ored frocks, and wearing corsages of pink and white carnations. Clark Tolbert, of Abraham, performed per-formed best man duties for his cousin. After a short wedding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell are now making a home in Delta, where Mr. Mitch-all Mitch-all is employed at Delta Milling Company. Lyric Lore OisIj Lyric Lore Club members and husbands were entertained at the annual Christmas party Wednesday Wednes-day night, Dec. 16, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Anderson. Dinner was served to thirty-seven and later two games were played. At midnight Santa came and presented pre-sented each guest with a gift from the Christmas tree. The group sang Christmas carols. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Gair Gardner, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Snow, Mr. and Mrs. E. D. BISHOP Have Many Things in Common By Sebrina C Ekins Mr. and Mrs. Heber Bishop and Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Hepworth of Hinckley have had a lot in common since they were married on the same day at the same time 40 years ago. Three of them, Orlando Hep-worth, Hep-worth, Fern Reeve and Heber Bishop Bish-op were friends all during their school years. Vera Swensen moved here from Sanpete county and then the four of them became friends. They were all about the same age (now they are in their early six-t-es). They made plans to be married the same day and left together on the train and were married in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Bishop family made their home in ILnckley and raised a family of 10 children six girls and ' four boys! I The Hepworth family made their' Zletrotlivd to Waldo Warnleh, Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Harold R. MISS Fidelity Chili Is fiitiergaiiicd Fidelity members and their husbands hus-bands held their New Year's Eve party at the home of Dr. and Mrs. M. E. Bird, Dec. 31. The long table, which seated 28 members and one guest, was beautifully decorated in seasonal motif. After dinner, games were played with prizes and surprises. Vivian Holman was high winner and Archie Arch-ie Gardner was low. Fourteen of the 20 children of the two families were about the same age and were in the same class at school. Sixteen of them were graduated from the Hinckley Hinck-ley High School and by spring four will have graduated from the Delta Del-ta High School. The majority of their children have attended college, col-lege, six are s'.i'.l in college and six are college graduates. All 20 of their children have been graduated gradu-ated Iron Seminary. Seven have fulfilled missions for the Latter-Jay Latter-Jay Saints Church and seven have served in the armed forces. Six of the boys received the Eagle Scout award. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Sorenson received re-ceived word of the birth of another grandchild born to their son, Gilbert Gil-bert and wife, in Kingman, Ariz., Dec. 29. The young boy has an older old-er sister, Mrs. Gilbert Sorenson is the former Geraldine Evans. Fenton Billings, USU student and Miss Jackie Ewing of Murray spent the New Year weekend in Delta with his parents, Mr, and Mrs. G. O. Petersen, Hinckley announce the engagement of their daughter, Annette, to De-Lyle De-Lyle Bennett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vaun Bennett, Hinckley. Miss Petersen has been attending Brigham Young University, Provo and Mr. Bennett is in his junior year at the University of Utah. The young couple is planning a spring wedding. Sorenson returned to Delta from Korea where he has been stationed for the past four or five months, Dec. 23, to spent the holidays with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Sorenson.
