Show MILLARD COUNTY CHRONICLE Delta. Utah, Thurs., June 7, 1956 Mrs. Fernard Wood and young son David, from Taft, Cal., are visiting Mrs. Wood's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lathel Callister. Miss Edythe Cahoon, who spent the past year in Las Vegas, Nev., teaching school, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clayson Cahoon, Ca-hoon, in Delta. She returns Monday toLas Vegas, where she is employed employ-ed for the summer, and will teach school again next year. Mr. and. , Mrs. Arv'e Rose left Delta last week for Fresno, Cal., to visit their daughter and Mr. Rose's mother. They planned to return in a month. , . Also visiting the Robinsons were their sister Cora, Mr. and Mrs. George Kelly of Helper and sister La Preal, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd G. Eyre, of Ogden. Mr. Eyre taught In the Millard Academy 28 years ago. He has been called to Hawaii to head the LDS Seminaries. They will be in the Islands for at least three years. They leave August 6th. Sebrina's sister Mattie, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Bliss, former residents re-sidents of Hinckley, and now of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Lynn Warnlck, another sister, of Delta, and just returned after spending two months in Salt Lake City spent Memorial Day with the Rob insons. 1 Betty and Kennard Carter and four children, Cindy Lou, Peter, Carrie and Matt of Ely, Nevada, spent Tuesday and Wednesday visiting the Carter's of Hinckley and Munster's of Sutherland. Dorothy Morris was home from Salt Lake City, with her parents, the Wesley Morris's, over the weekend. Carl Stoneking is home for the summer vacation from the Univer sity of Utah. Hugh J. and Dorothy Judd and Miss Connie Sly of Kimberely, Nev., spent the weekend in Hinckley. Family Party Held A get-together in honor of the Kings and Tom Watson, Rosa Mae Lovell and Patricia Weob, all of whom were having birthday during the week, was held at the Webb home. Family members present were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stoneking and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Webb and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Webb and family, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Watson and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Lovell and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald King and family, Mrs. Rose Webb and Clarence Clar-ence Webb. The Kings are on their way to Virginia, where they will make their new home. They called on Vera's sister Florence, Mr. and Mrs. Lucian Ide oC Wellington, Utah. Visitors at the Lorin Dutson home over Memorial day were Lorin's sister, May, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Fackrell of Springville and Rose's sister Lois, Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Lewis, of Kamas, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. David Stevens and daughters, Karen and Elaine of Pleasant Grove, spent Memorial day with their sons, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Stevens and Mr. and Mrs. Dee Stevens. Raymond (Bud) Carter of Oak Ridge, Oregon, is spending his two weeks vacation with his ma (me). Bud stopped in Ely, Nevada, and visited the Wayne Irelands, the Kennard Carters and in Kimberly, to visit the Ellis Stevens families. Surprise Visit A surprise visit to the homes of Mrs. E. Stapley and the Floyd Greeners was made toy Mr. and Mrs. Grant A. Greener and little daughter, Jo Catherine, of Luling, Texas, Thursday thru Sunday. Grant is the son of the late Miles Greener and spent his early life in Hinckley. He joined the U, S. Navy at the age of 17 for four years. A year later he joined the Army, and planned to stay with the army until he was retired, but due to ill health, had to leave the army. He then finished his schooling and for the past two years and at present is teaching at the Luling High School. This is Mr. Greener's first visit since the death of his father, 12 years ago. William Marden Stapley ana children, Jackie Ann and Billy, of Salt Lake City visited with hjs mother and the Greeners. They all met at the Floyd Greener home Sunday and enjoyed a lovely family fam-ily dinner. Lorin and Rose Dutson and son Doyle spent Wednesday in Rich field visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Fackrell, former Hincklev residents, and Mr. and Mrs. Les Rich of Salt Lake City visited with the Lorin Dutsons last week and all enjoyed a lovely dinner at the Ray Dutsons. Mr. Orville Canine, a brother of Coleen Dutson. and a friend, from Ely, Nevada, spent Wednesday in Hinckley. Sutherland MRS. HEBER ROSE Oak City Mrs. Mae H. Shipley Mr. Cecil Jacobson, Marilyn Mel ville and a girl friend, spent the weekend visitiing m Oak City from Salt Lake. Miss Janet Finlinson and Miss Jeanette Anderson are visiting in Salt Lake this week. Mr. Cecil Spencer visited a few days with his sister, Mrs. Mavis Nielson and family. He is in the Navy on his way to Hawaii, where he will be stationed for the present. pres-ent. Lovell Family Holds Reunion The Caddie Lovell family held their reunion on Memorial day in Oak City. Quite a large group attended at-tended from out of town. There were Mr. and Mrs. Clisbee Lovell and some of their family, Mr. and Mrs. Lem Lovell, Mrs. Merlene Schmitz and children also Mr. and Mrs. Reed Lovell and family and Mrs. Martha Anderson from Oak City. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Anderson went to Salt Lake Friday and brought their mother, Mrs. Genie-vie Genie-vie Blanchard, home She has been visiting with her other children for several months. Miss Aidyce Nielson returned home from a visit at Beaver Dam, the past week. Mr. and. Mrs. Lloyd Olson and family spent last week visiting their father, William Jacobson. and other relatives in Oak City. Their home is at Brigham City. Mr. and Mrs. Dana Dodge and family from Salt Lake visited the past week with their mother, Mae H. Shipley, and other relatives. Memorial day the families met at the Shipley home where they had a family dinner. Kitchen Kittens 4-H Club Tuesday, May 23, The Kitchen Kittens met at their leader's home. Gertrude LaRue, and made Egg Salad Sandwiches and milk fruit Nog. Margaret Bowers took charge of the meeting. They wiU hold their next meeting. Wednesday, June 6. Janet Neilson, reporter Mr. and Mrs. Dale Carling and small son were visitors of the Nels Brumley's over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Jackson and family and Mr. and Mrs. Max Johnson and family spent an evening eve-ning in Oak City canyon last week. They cooked their supper and en joyed the relaxation that the can yon atmosphere offers. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Wind from Provo visited their folks, Mr. and Mrs. John Wind. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Meecham and family were weekend visitors with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivo Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Thurmon Moody and family made a trip to Provo last Friday, where Thurmon had a rendezvous with the dentist. Harry Wind left Sutherland to go to his home in Wendover. He has employment in California for the summer, but has more important interests in Oak City. Little Tamula Jones had a very narrow escape last week. It seems she accidently opened the car door, while her father was driving, and experienced quite a tumble, receiving re-ceiving numerous cuts and bruises but no broken toones. This incident marks the third occasion for the door to be opened, two other previous pre-vious experiences, spilling the two small children of Sherman Jones. The results NOW no handles on the rear doors of the car a little inconvient but less dangerous. Mr. and Mrs.- Ephraim Twitchell were visitors of their relatives last week. They returned from Germany Germ-any two weeks prior to this visit. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Sanford and Phyllis Ann visited in Fillmore on Wednesday. There they joined Mrs. Sanford's sisters and families, Mr, and Mrs. Willis Dutson and Mr, and Mrs. Terry. Mrs. Dee Sanford is still at Provo but is expected home soon. Mr. and Mrs. LeMar Wilde, Mrs. Lowell Penrod, Chad and Craig and Mrs. Cecil Beckstead visited the Rose family on Saturday. Mr. Rulon Jones made a trip to California last Monday. Mrs. W. R. Walker attended the Y commencement exercises to witness wit-ness the graduation of her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Winnie Williams of Kan- osh. Winnie received her B. S. degree. Mr. Robert Fowles and his fiancee, fian-cee, Miss Mary Miller, came down Tuesday night to visit with their folks, the Vern Fowles and then they and Vern and Grace made a trip to Mt. Pleasant where they met Mr. and Mrs. Earl Fowles and family. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Walker made a trip to Preston, Idaho, for a two day visit with Erma's folks. Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Sampson Easton Sampson, Mrs. B. F. Sampson, Samp-son, Mrs. Lyman Mortensen and family, Mr. and Mrs. Layton Bishop, Bish-op, Mrs. Mabel Chapmen and Joe Bishop were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Johnson and family last weekend. The little children of Easton's are remaining with Betty, until further plans are made. Joe Wright, a nephew of Deon Erlckson visited with Golden and Deon last week. Mignon Erickson is staying with her sister, Glenna, in Provo. Newly elected officers are: President, Margaret Alldredge; Vice President & Reporter, Re-porter, Kae Finlinson; Song leader & Secretary, Marie Finlinson. Meredith Anderson is our leader. Refreshments were served. Our next meeting was at the home of Marie Finlinson. We discussed dis-cussed buying and caring for hose. Mr. Herman Munster, Nancy and Barbara are leaving to visit with Mr. Munster's daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Char-lotte King, who lives in Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Thalma'n spent a day or two with their parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Amon' Johnson, Bonnie and Floyd. Mr. and Mrs. Morgan May and Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Anderson attended at-tended the open house party held in honor of their father, Mr. Anderson, Ander-son, held at Benjamin. Mr. Anderson Ander-son celebrated his eightieth 'birthday 'birth-day anniversary. Ora Mae and Richard May have moved into their new residence the former Eldon Erickson home. ; Mrs. Velma Adams and her brother have gone to Oklahoma where they will stay two weeks visiting relatives. Patty Taylor left Sutherland to visit in Salt Lake with her aunt, Mrs. Marion Kesler, a sister o( Ann. ( , Mrs. Lena Steele made a trip to Salt Lake City last week to attend to some business. V Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Anderson attended at-tended the graduation of Mr. Bert Rigby at the Y last Friday night. Mr. Rigby has a position in Wash ington, where he will work with atomic research. He received a very outstanding recognition In the field. He was the only student to have his name engraved on the special plaque provided by the Y for this particular honor, and he received very high praise and recommendation re-commendation from President Wilkinson Wil-kinson for his ability and achievement. achieve-ment. - ' ; The boy scouts spent a day and night in the canyon with their leaders, Mr. Frank Lyman and Mr. Clemont Bennett. They enjoyed the trip very much. According to word received Mr. Tippetts' medical treatments have been successful and we are surely happy for everyone concerned. We have not had a late report of Mr. George Corry, but we are hoping, for a very speedy recovery for him. Mr. M. J. Moody, Karen and Phil attended the Y graduation Friday. The wind has subsided a little much to the joy of everyone. We can't expect to find heaven on earth but we can create a heavenly atmosphere oy our thoughts and actions. M. J. ROPER CO.
