Our leader Carole Warnick showed show-ed us how to make different kinds of sandwiches. President Vickie Warnick took charge. All the girls were there. Janice Petersen, reporter Mr. Kerry Danelson and his fiancee, Miss Peggy Brohm, from Salt Lake City, accompanied by his mother, Mrs. Virginia Anderson, were in Delta over the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sagers. They all went on to Cedar City to attend the wedding reception recept-ion for Dale Langston and Gaylen Stapley on Saturday evening. The entire Langston family, ten sisters and brothers, were in attendance. The Six Chattering Chefs Monday, May 14th, The Six Chat tering Chefs had a club meeting at Linda Nelson's. We made cheese rolets and baking bak-ing powder biscuits. Everything turned out fine. Rose Mary Forester was excused, Dana Winfield did not attend. We dismissed at 5:30 p. m. LEAH! rVGTON Klee Finlinson The fourth, fifth and sixth grades of the Leamington school spent May 9th in Fillmore. The Soil Conservation Service showed the group aerial maps of Leamington Leaming-ton and vacinity. They were entertained enter-tained at a picture show, at the school, furnished by the Soil Conservation Con-servation Service. Lunch at noon was thoroughly enjoyed at the school lunch room. The group played their synphonettes for the upper grades of the Fillmore Elementary Ele-mentary school. Educational and entertaining was their visit to the museum, or the old State House, the Armory and the City, County building. Principal Johnson reports this was the first trip to Fillmore for about half of the group. PTA president, Rosebelle Finlinson went with the group on the tour, taking half of the children in her car. Mrs. Glen Harder, her three children and Mrs. Walker Finlinson, drove into Spanish Fork last Thurs day. Mrs. Stanley Bradfield and her daughter Joan, went into Salt Lake City Thursday to shop. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Nielson had dinner for her folks from Sutherland, Suther-land, Saturday night. Sunday after Sunday School they drove into Salt Lake City to visit with Grant's folks. Mr. and Mrs. Shelby Nielson sister Virginia, and her daughter Debby, who had flown home from Lake Charles, La., to spend Mother's Day. Visiting at Mr. and Mrs. Fred Nielsons over Mother's Day week end were Mr. and Mrs. George Toravato, and daughter Fran, from Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Ray mond Jackson and daughter Jean from Nephi. Max was home from school. Mr. and Mrs. Bevan Nielson and Brenda had dinner with the family. They then drove to Nephi to visit with Joy's folks. Mr. and Mrs. Rich Finlinson and daughter RiJeana went into Salt Lake City Friday to shop. Mr. Arlyn Finlinson was home this weekend from School with his folks. Mr. A. M. Harder drove to Mt Pleasant Sunday afternoon to visit with his son Boyd and family. Mrs. Bud McCann drove to Provo Sunday to call at the home of a cousin of her husband, who passed awav. Mr. and Mrs. Ben ixveii went to SDrineville with her and visited with their son, Welby Lovell, and family, while Margaret went on into Provo. Mr. and Mrs. John Evans left Monday noon on the train for Ontario, Calif. They will visit with their granddaughter Bonnie Peart, and her family. VLsitine at the Spencer Meison home over the weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Larson and family from Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Leathan and daughter from Grantsville. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Allen from Mapleton visited Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Nielson. Mrs. Allen Is Mrs. Nielson's sister. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bradfield drove into Salt Lake City Tuesday to visit Mrs. Elberta Fasswater. Mrs. Passwater has been ill for some time, she is a sister of Mrs. Bradfield. , Mrs. O. L. Johnson returned home Saturday night from staying with her daughter Meryl Young in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Young are the proud parents of a baby boy. He was born on May 2nd and weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz at birth. Mr. and Mrs. Sid Searles and their three children visited with Mr. and Mrs. Wells Nielson on Mother's Day. Mr. and Mrs. Marlin Nielson of Salt Lake City have ft new baby girl born Wednesday, May. 9th. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dean of Salt Lake City visited with Mrs. Emma Nielson over the Mother's Day weekend. The Mia Maid girls put on the long assembly program in Mutual Tuesday night Their theme was "The Second Mile." Girls participating partici-pating were Janet Nelson, LaPriel Lovell and Sally Nielson. Speech director, Jean Tofbert and teacher. Elaine Johnson. Fourteen members of the Leam-ineton Leam-ineton Aaronic Priesthood went to Nephi Saturday night to attend the movie and have dinner. The Bishop, John M. Neilsen and Ray Johnson took the group. Tuesday in Relief Society was the Literary lesson given by Ruth Finlinson. Jean Tolbert sang three songs that were connected with the lesson. Sunday morning in Sunday School, they held a short half hour lesson period, then the Junior and Senior Schools combined to have a Mother's Day program. Busy BeVs of Sugarville The 4-H meeting was neld at the home of one of our teachers, Nola Shields. We received our Utah 4-H song books. Our lesson was on sandwich making. Each member furnished the ingredients for the sandwiches. The finished product was soon missing. The next meeting will be held at Joyce Hill's. Virginia Done, reporter and tributes to mother, given by the young people of the ward. A lovely potted plant was presented to each mother. Mr. and Mrs. Vance Underwood from Eureka, visited with the Wallace Nielson family over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Dee Bradfield and Randy were here Friday and Saturday Sat-urday with Mr. and Mrs. Randall Bradfield. Sunday they spent the day in Levan with her folks. Mr. and Mrs. Randall Bradfield drove to Nephi to visit with Eva's mother. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bradfield, mt and Mrs. Flovd Bradfield and child- ran wont in Fairview to visit Lillian Hanson on Mother's Day. Mr. Jack Nielson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Nielson, was returning return-ing to school Sunday evening Goine thru the gravel road be tween Oak City and Fillmore, his car hit a soft sandy shoulder ana over turned. The boys were thrown from the car. Jack was brought into the Delta Hospital and later taken into a Salt Lake city nos nital for treatment. He has i hmkpn hin. Next Sunday night services will be under the direction of Hign Councilman Thurmon Moody. Last Sunday night, given by the Aaronic Priesthood, the program was as follows: Song "An Angel from On High" by Ray Johnson. Reading of the account of the Restoration of the Aaronic Priesthood, from the Pearl of Great Price, toy Kenneth Lovell. Talk on "I am respected by my associates by Kay Lovell. Talk on "By bearing the priest hood I am given many opportunities opportun-ities for service" by David Nielson. Song by the group, "Come All Ye Sons of God." Talk by Eva Brad field on "Our son's activity in the Priesthood." Talk by the Bishop and Dravers were offered by Roger Nielson and Jerald Lovell. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Williams had Mr. and Mrs. Lee Williams and family from Salt Lake, and Mr. Clifford Bennett and Jean from Tooele, visit them over the week end. Mrs. Louise Bentlv. visited her mother, Mabel Overson for Mothers Day. Several townspeople attended the Sundav Exercise of the Delta High graduating class in Delta. The graduates from here are Lu-ella Lu-ella Dutson, JoAnn Bradfield, Inez Nielson and Annette Nielson. Mrs. Essie Anderson and her son Don, and family, came down for the weekend. She went to Ely, Nevada, with her erandauehter. Jeanette on Monday for a week or so. His son, Glen Brush, and wife, from Oakland, Cal., arrived last week to visit here. Mr. and Mrs. George Meinhardt, from Santa Ana, CaL. visited in Delta during the week with their brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Meinhardt. George lived here ears ago on the Meinhardt farm of his father, George Sr., and renewed re-newed acquaintance with old friends and neighbors. Raleigh and Peggy Franklin and sons, Kim and Jerry, visited in Delta, Hinckley and Abraham during dur-ing the week. They spent the winter win-ter in Las Vegas, Nev., and are now on their way to Anchorage, Alaska, via Seattle, Wash., and the John Hart Highway, if the road is open.
