Howard Johnson and Lyman Henrie have employment in Nev ada. We have been told that Rich ard Snow has been employed there too. Howard is staying with his uncle, John Ahlstrom, former re sidents of Sutherland. The assembly program was given bv the Scouts Tuesday in MIA, Talks were given by Gordon John son and Grant Bennett. A vocal solo was sung by Michael Rose. Merit badges were presented by Superintendant Milo Mortensen to Grant Bennett, Michael Rose, Allen Barney, Darrell Fowles, Le Ray Jackson Douglar Turner, Le Roy Fowles, Elwin Johnson and God don Johnson. The Valentine party followed under the leadership of dance directors, Joe and Helen Barney. Heart cookies and strawberry straw-berry punch were served by the teachers and officers to a very enthusastic crowd. Old Man Winter ushered him self in with all the pomp and glory worthy of winter wonder land, but in comparison with overseas weather, wea-ther, we are having it mild. The blizzards have been very tragic and many people have been frozen to death because of the bitter cold. Many of the states have experienced experi-enced bad weather so in this area the weather is rather mild in comparison. com-parison. Mrs. Rayda' Rawlinson and her new baby are home now and Mrs. Ruth Jnnes and her Lttle new daughter will soon be coming home. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Shurtz enter tained for Mrs. Stella Shurtz's birthday, Saturday night at a big supper in her honor. Those attending attend-ing were Mr. and Mrs. Jay Shurtz and family, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Losee and family. Alden and Elden Shurtz. Mr. and Mrs. Frelen Shurtz and Miss Inga Mae Memmott. Ronnie Oliver visited in Salt Lake City for a few days last week. Carl Oliver from BYU, visited with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Oliver. Mr. and Mrs. Don Boothe and family from Tooele, visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cal Boothe. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Shields visit ed in Salt Lake City during the week. Cozy Shields and Eileen Boothe j are on the sick list this week, we hope they will soon be well again. Mrs. Rufus Clark has been taken to the Holy Cross hospital, very ill, on Sunday. We are hoping she will be improved soon. Bill and Rufus made a another trip there on Monday. Alden Shurtz from Ely, Nevada, spent the weekend with his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Frelen Shurtz. Ward conference was held on A Correction Sunday night. Talks were given by the Bishopric, Harold Jensen, Glen Losee. Frelen Shurtz and Roy Losee. Lo-see. Two numbers were sung by the quartette, June Hinckley, Roy Losee, LaRon Oliver and Virgil Losee. Then the stake officers each spoke, President June Black, Ver-dell Ver-dell Bishop Jay Nelson and Lloyd Schlappi. A large crowd was in attendance and all enjoyed the meeting. The Ralph Stoneking family have moved into our Ward, and are living in the house of Arch Barbens. We welcome them to our Ward and Community. The MIA had a Valentine party after the meeting, dancing was in the recreation hall. Cookies and punch were served. .
