Show MARY JOHNSON Mr. and Mrs. Burnis Finlinson and family visited .here with the Lee Shipleys on Tuesday. Mrs. Rhea Whateott returned to Provo with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ashton and family after they had spent New Year's Day here. She returned home Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Whateott were also Tuesday visitors here at the Lee Shipley home. Keith Nielson was home from Salt Lake over the weekend. Friday Fri-day the family drove to Fountain Green and brought Mrs. Nielson's mother. Mrs. Rosequist over for a visit. Monday, Keith returned to Salt Lake, where he expects to get employment soon. Mrs. Lucille Johnson received word from her sister, Mrs. Frank Benson, that Frank had suffered a heart attack and was in very serious condition. Frank lived here a number of years and is a brother to Carl Benson. Mrs. Tillman Johnson left her two small sons here Saturday with grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lile Johnson, while she and her mother spent the day in Provo. Mrs. Nada Simpson was in Provo Friday, with the Chick Simpsons. Mrs. Lucille Overson and he mother, Mrs. Essie Anderson, of Leamington, drove to Provo for the weekend. They visited relatives rela-tives there, returning home on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Phill Nielson made a business trip to Provo Saturday and you should see their beautiful new car. Mr. and Mrs. Dean Eatough and Mr. and Mrs. Dick Hayes are expecting ex-pecting their brother, Kenneth Hayes, home from the Service. Kenneth has been in Hawaii, the past two years. Mr. Clarence Hogan visited his brother, Arthur, at his home in Lake Point for several days last week. His brother had been very ill, but is improving now. In Stockton, he visited with nephews Rulon, Clyde, and Lee Hogan, and their families. Mrs. Hogan arrived home Monday, from a two weeks visit in California, with her two daughters and a son. D. Fitzgerald. Guests present included Donna Cox, Norma Evans and Mabel King. Members present were Beth Atkin, Marilyn Stevenson, Pearl Hawley, Joyce Searle, Margaret Turner, Cherie Shields, Pat Shields, Arvilla Faris, Lucille Stapley, Joye Bennion, Marie Merrell, Freda Row ley, Marjorie Riding, Julia Graham, and Myrle Crafts. Tasty refreshments refresh-ments were served. The next regular meeting will be Jan. 23 at the home of Cherie Shields. Myrle Crafts will review a book. Mrs. Lula Warnick, Mrs. Pearl Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Golden War-nick, War-nick, Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Warnick, Mrs. Grace Warnick, Mrs. Lynn Warnick and Mrs. Josephine Pratt attended the funeral services in Pleasant Grove Monday 'for Lawrence Law-rence M. Atvvood, 69. Mr. Atwood was killed Thursday when his car ran into a train. His wife, Mrs. Cora Warnick Atwood, is recovering recover-ing from injuries received in the accident, and was able to attend the services. Lowell Wilkins is taking his vacation and is spending the time helping care for his aged mother, who is quite ill at this time at the home of a granddaughter in Hinckley. Mrs. Lemira Bishop and Mrs. LaRue Nickle visited our Primary on Monday as stake officers. O'Niel Lake has returned to California, after being home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Barney Lake, through the holidays. Mrs. Mina Overson and son, Leland, made a business trip to Provo and Lehi, Tuesday. Mrs. Norine Shipley accompanied her hurband to Provo for the day on Tuesday. Larry Nielson. son of Wallace Nielson, has gone to Las Vegas, where he has hired out as a student stu-dent brakeman on the Union Pacific. Paci-fic. He is staying with the Darnae Nielson's in Henderson, Nev., at the present time. Miss Janet Nielson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Nielson, spent part of her vacation in Nevada with friends. Mr. and Mrs. Jos. T. Finlinson left this week for a two weeks trip to New Orleans on a combined business and pleasure trip. Mr. Finlinson represents the Producers Livestock Marketing Assn. Miss Margene Finlinson, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Walker Finlinson, Finlin-son, returned home from Santa Monica, Calif., for Christmas, and is now working in Nephi. Mr. and Mrs. Randall Bradfield and Mr. and Mrs. William Bradfield visited one day during the holidays with great-grandfather Bradfield, in Scipio. Mr. and Mrs. John Evans were Sunday dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Lon Chaffin at the quarry. Mr. A. M. Harder returned Friday from Georgia and left Sunday for Las Vegas, where he is working. Shipley Seems not too much news this lovely springlike weather. Folks taking trips to visit relatives. The men do odd jobs that spring and some watering lawns that u:e dying out for want of moisture. Even the violets are fooled and are blooming. Conference was at Delta Sunday. Many Oak City people attended and the Junior Sunday School was the only service held in Oak City that day. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Lovell and children from Sunset, were Oak City visitors last weekend. Mrs. Florence Jones had her daughter, Catherine, and husband, from Heber City visiting Sunday. Cecil Jacobson has left for California Cal-ifornia to register in a radio school. Mrs. Ada Jacobson and daughters, daugh-ters, Dell, Marilyn and Nancy, spent several days in Salt Lake. Are Melvin and Ann Roper and family swinging it high? The glad tidings by phone of a little son born to Mr. and Mrs. Howard Dut-son Dut-son (Afton Roper) at Ft. Lewis, Washington just came. This is the Roper's first grandchild. Other happy hap-py grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Emery Dutson. The baby's birth day was January 7. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Shipley and John Nielson spent the weekend very pleasantly visiting in Salt Lake City, Sunset and Pleasant Grove, with friends and relatives. They attended a missionary testimonial test-imonial for Jared Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Anderson at Pleasant Grove Sunday evening. A very fine program was enjoyed by a large audience. Jared will leave Thursday for his mission in the Northern States Mission. Mrs. Twiss Nielson entertained Friday evening with a nice chicken supper.
