Please remember, say the firemen, fire-men, that weed fires travel fast, and can outrun the fire department depart-ment at times. Save property by guarding those weed fires well. Second, and important, they ask that when sending in a fire alarm in Delta, please give the house number as well as the street number. num-ber. All week they scraped the ground where the coal pile had been. Finally it got too cold to burn dirt and Wes bought a ton of coal. Wes was at the gas station making a living and Evelyn Eve-lyn was spending it as last as he made it feeding their 600 baby chicks. Chickens all fed she rushed in to feed the family. The little boys noticed smoke pouring out of I the outside wall. Evelyn ran out and took over the gas selling whil Wes manned his own private fire department. By chopping holes in the roof they were able to put the hose in the wall. They soon had th fire under control. There's a huge hole in the living room wall, but it faces east and they get the morning sun and the view ' is good. Then too, spring is here so the Morris' don't mind too much. The asbestos sheet behind the stove got so hot it started the two by fours on fire. The house is lined with sheet rock which is almost fire proof or it would likely have burned completely. After the fire was out, Dorothy said "Gee, dad can move fast, if he wants to." Everyone is cleaning that fine film of salt off their cars and windows as a result of the terrible wind storm at the Bonneville Salt Flats.
