A LITTLE INVESTMENT IN A CLASSIFIED AO WILL PAT BIG DIVIDENDS S linet or less 53c or timet for a SIX3 TH our tail IDS New Curtains And Draperies Homemakers who are planning to beautify their homes with new curtains and draperies this spring will be interested In knowing that along with the natural fibers of cotton, linen, silk and wool there will be new man-made fibers on the market. Cotton still has the widest usage us-age for curtains and drapery. Many new textures are being developed and manufacturing processes make many fabrics colorfast, sanforized or pre-shrunk, crease resistant and dirt and stain resistant. Each of the chemical fibers in these fabrics has advantages and disadvantages: the quality of the blends depends on the combina tion used. However, most fabrics of man-made fibers have qualities homemakers particularly like. They look well. They drape in soft, not bulky folds, are sheer and flawless, and keep their crispness and tailor well. These fibers are easy to care for. They are slow to soil but wash easily and need little ironing. They can also be dry cleaned; this method is preferable tor fabrics fab-rics of loose mesh which may shrink. Most of the new fabrics wear well they hold original shape and do not noticably stretch, sag, shrink or wrinkle In high humidity or in laundering, drying or dry cleaning. Thev are color-fast to light and laundering, and most of them are resistant to abrasion, soiling (the soil is mostly on the outside 01 the fiber rather than Imbedded In it), mildew and stains, which do not penetrate deeply, and insects like moths and silverfish.
