Miss Gayle Vincent from Provo visited a week with her Aunt, Mrs. Myrle Bennett. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Torrens visited vis-ited Sunday at Ruth, Nevada, with Mr. and Mrs. Marion Crafts. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dewsnup and Kent Dewsnup are on their vacation and are visiting at San Francisco, Calif., and at Gridley, Cal. Miss Anna Mae Webb has returned re-turned to her home after spending spend-ing a week at the Delta hospital where she underwent surgery for appendictis. Mrs. Eva Cheel and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Blake from California visited during the week at the homes of Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Moody and Mrs. Josie Moody. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Bennett and Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Cahoon spent Saturday at Provo Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Black visited at Provo Sunday and Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Black and daughter, from Dugway, spent the week-end at Deseret. There was a large number of rodeo fans who attended ten Ute Stampede at Nephi. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Webb were visitors at Provo on Sunday. Mr. Ray Moody andson Micheal from Salt Uke City are spending a few days at Deseret taking care of their farm interest here. Stevens Co. Ladies Dept. Don Morris, 61, Aids Rescue Work In Germany , Don Morris, serving11 with the U. S. Army in Germany since the first ofthe year, writes his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Morris, at Hinckley, of a recent accident in Germany, when he was one of 25 Yanks who aided rescue work. Don sent a newspaper clipping dated June 21, from Schwaebish Hall Germany, which was headed "Yanks Rescue 25 After Bridge Falls" He was in town on pass to see the celebration of the firist day of summer, ushered in with festivities fireworks and parade. The bridge that fell was a small hanging bridge to bear aoout 30 people. A crowd of 150 or so had crowed onto the bridge, to view the fireworks from a point of van tage, when the bridge fell, and the spectators were plunged into the Koscher River. Don was with a group of U.S servicemen at the edge of the bridge, and they dived Into the river to help bring out children, women and some aged persons. They were credited with saving 25 lives. One man was killed outright in the ccident, when he was decapitated decap-itated by a steel rail. Two others died later, and many were Injured. Kenneth Sampsunis spending ten days In Tacoma, Wash., visiting his sister, Delma and husband, Dr. and Mrs. II. A. Burke. The Anderson family met in the canyon June 27 and enjoyed a reunion. re-union. In the evening they congregated con-gregated at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Noel Black and celebrated the first wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Black. Richard Carter of Goshen spent a few weeks helping Ernest Anderson And-erson on his farm. Richard Is Mrs. Anderson's nephew. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Johnson spent Sunday and Monday in Salt Iike. Bishop and Mrs. Ralph Skeem and the twins and Mr and Mrs. Arlo Skeem are spending a week in Yellowstone Park. Mrs. Betsy Skeem is planning on meeting her grandson, Wayne Norton Nor-ton in St. George Thursday. Wayne will be married that day. From there Mrs. Skeem will go on to California to visit awhile. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Kelly and Inez Ann and Biah SJoctrom and Norman attended a Kelly reunion in Salt Lake City, Saturday and Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Kelly from Fresno, Cal., arrived In Oasis Friday Fri-day and went on up to the reunion Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Val Styler went to Bountiful Sunday night. Mrs Fay Howell spent the week end in Beaver visiting her mother. Morgan Howell and Deon Gillen took two boy scouts on a trip over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs Grant Peterson and son Ronald and daughter Lois and nephew, Melvin St an worth, are spending a vacation In the canyons. can-yons. They left last Saturday. Mrs. Laura Black and nephew Burton Giles who was just released releas-ed from the Naval Air Force, stopped stop-ped on their way from te coast to visit with Mrs. Celia Christen-sen Christen-sen last Thursday Then they went on to Fillmore. Mr. and Mrs. Duane Smith and family have moved In to Delta and will make their home there. Duane was released from the service and arrived home June 22 .Just 12 hours after his daughter Shela was born. We are glad to have him home and we wish him and his family the best of everything. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Zennittl, from Los Angeles. Cal., and Mrs Carrie D;nls, from Fillmore, visit ed Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Christensen. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Day and girls spent Sunday in Provo Mr. and Mrs. Martin Lindwig and family are on vacation and are visiiting in Draper and Sandy Mr. and Mrs. Ed Christensen and Mr. and Mrs. Norval Christen sen had a picnic supper In Fill more canyon on the fourth. Mrs. Vanessa Skeem is home again after a stay In Cedar City She is improving and we are glad to have her back. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Skeem took their baby to a specialist In Salt Lake City Saturday and returned home Sunday. The little girl has an alergy and Is receiving treat ment for it. Utile Lynn Stevens, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Dee Stevens return ed to her home in Hinckley after spending the past 2 weeks with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Norval Christensen. She Is recovering recov-ering from rheumatic fever and can be up part pf th? time now- Mr. and Mrs. CaUin Skeem was in Salt Lake last week with their baby. She has been having some moles removed. Mrs. Betsy Skeem and Mrs. Ella Christensen attended a Garden Club Convention in Hinckley, Monday. Mon-day. They took a lovely floral piece that Celia Christensen had arranged. Mr and Mrs. J. V. Humphries and daughter Holly and Judy from Bur-bank, Bur-bank, and Mrs. Wanda Petrovich from Los Angeles, Calif., visited their sisters Mrs. Clark Bishop and Mrs. Albert Skldmore and their families a week ago last Saturday. They went on to Salt Lake City Sunday morning. Mrs. Clark Bishop went with them as far as Orem where she met with other officers of the Hutchlngs family organization to make arrangements for their reunion. re-union. She returned home on the bus that night. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Moody and Mr. and Mrs. Lovell of the Sunday School Stake Board visited Sunday School last Sunday. For Sacrament metting, High Councilman Norman Gardner and his wife Verna, also Mr. and Mrs Clyde Maxfield were speakers. Miss Carma Ashby sang two solos. Mr. and Mrs. LoMoine Bond and family spent Saturday and Sunday visiting with Mr. and Mrs. David Nichols. They brought Ralph Nichols Nich-ols home with them. He had been visiting in Salt Lake since the 4th. They left their sons David and Kenneth here to visit a couple of weeks. Mrs. Dora Gull, from Salt Lake spent last week visiting her sis ter Mrs. Rose Nichols. Another sister and her husband Mr. and Mrs. C. A Newren, from Standardville, Utah' visited Satur day with the Nichols. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Brush went to Salt Lake City Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Bishop and Mr. and Mrs. Layton Bishop went to Cedar City and St. George last Tuesday and returned home Wed nesday. Mrs. Stella Hawley stayed out to Sutherland a few days last week with Mr. and Mrs Ben Rob-ison's Rob-ison's family while they were on a vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Bishop spent Sunday In Trout Creek, and Callao also Clead Nielson, Howard Niel-son, Niel-son, J. A. Banks, and Patriarch Clarence Hogan, of Lynndyl, and Orlando Hepvvorth, Pat Barney and Bertha Love, of Hinckley, made the trip and attended the meeting there. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Roundy and Mrs. Lillian Roundy spent last Sunday in Provo visiting Mr. and Mrs. Marian Roundy. Marion was injured some time ago, when he fell from a building. The gala affair, af-fair, which will be staged on Ephraim Eph-raim 'Main Street, will feature as guest callers, some of the most prominent and popular square dance callers in Utah. Plenty of refreshments and "just right" music are promised by the committee in charge, with Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Larsen as co-chairmen for the Jamboree. It may tie that some of you citizens are among those grandparents grand-parents helped to settle Ephraim 100 years ago. At South Tract harden Club The South Tract Garden Club was bursting with pride as their Mistress Mary and flower garden rolled down Main Street in the July 4 parade in Delta. Chairman Melba Teeples beamed with satisfaction sat-isfaction over the hard job well done. - The club members take their hats off to Melba, and inturn Melba takes this opportunity to thank those members who helped help-ed make the attractive float. The garden club held their July meeting in connection with all West Millard clubs in Hinckley. Flower arrangements were the sub ject. Lena Peterson was hostess for the South Tract Club. For the Jnue meeting club members mem-bers toured the beautiful gardens of Mr. and Mrs Cecil Baker and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beckwith and Mr. and Mrs. Quin Shepherd, in Delta. Sarah Anderson was hostess host-ess for the club. The May meeting was held at the home of Betty Baker.
