Bailey (of Denver) drove up to a bridge blocked by a damaged vehicle. In the ravine 40 feet below was a wrecked automobile with two injured, screaming children inside. Miss Maurine Jensen from Salt Lake City is visiting her parents for a weeks vacation. Then She and Evelyn Davis will spend a weeks' vacation at the "Drowsy Waters" Dude Ranch in Colorado. Mr. and Mrs Leo Davis entertain ed at Sunday dinner for Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Underbill, Mr. and Mrs. John Wind, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Her-man Munster, and Mr. and Mrs. J, M. Twitchell, of Provo. Mrs. Stella Shurtz and Mrs. Venice Ven-ice Davis enetertaLned the Jolly Stitchers at the Davis home on Friday. Twenty-three ladies were present. Donald Davis, Eldon Shurtz and Jay Terry made a fishing trip to Granite Mountains over the week end. Mr and Mrs. Clifford Adams and sons Phillip and Richard made a trip to the Manti Temple on Monday. The Relief Society met on Tuesday Tues-day for an all day meeting. It was spent quilling 'and finishing the drapes. Pot Luck lunch was served. ser-ved. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wilkinson from Provo spent Sunday with her mother, Tressa Jenson. Ronald Jensen is happy to have his wife and small Ron home with him. They have been visiting in Texas where the baby was born. Dr, Ileff C. Jeffery, from Provo will be in Delta Saturday, at the home of his mother, Mrs. Adaline Jeffery. i'ii in ton 1 l 77s f 3 LEAMINGTON Mabel Harder The John Lovell family reunion was held Saturday in the Leamington Leam-ington park. Over 170 people were present and were served lunch by the members of the George Loveli family. 125 of those present were direct decendants of George Lovell hosts, for this year. After lunch business meeting and a program were held in the church. The following fol-lowing family officers were chosen for the coming year. Ormus L. Dutson, president, Jerold Lovell and Jessie L Freeman, vice-presidents; vice-presidents; Merrill Christensen, sec retary-treas.; Amy Erickson, and Rhea Whatcott, reserve workers. Mr. and Mrs, Joseph Walsh of Chicago, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Walsh and boys of Salt Lake City visited in Leamington for two days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Leon-ard Dutson. They spent one day in the canyon. Two days in the Nephi Hospital with a bad cut on his head, were suffered by Neal Finlinson this week when he fell from a horse. Neal and Freddie Finlinson were out for a ride when the horse suddenly sud-denly changed directions. Freddie was unhurt but Neal fell Into some sharp brush which cut the large gash on his head. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Dutson and Monty and Leonard Holmqulst and Miss Elaine Moore, of Salt Lake City spent the week-end at the Leonard Dutson home, attending the Ute Stampede on Saturday. The happiest and definitely the most popular kid in town Friday-was Friday-was John Adams, nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Clint Kielson, who was the lucky winner of the pony given giv-en away at the Ute Stampede Thursday evening. John has been visiting with the Nielson's for the past two weeks. Little Richard Bird, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Bird, of Delta, has been staying with his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Nielson, while his folks are on vacation. Kay and Phil Lovell, sons of Mr. and Mrs. La Forge Lovell, returned to Elanding with their grandparents grandpar-ents after the fourth, to visit a few days. Mr. and Mrs. I.eland Jones of Monmouth, Oregon, visited Tuesday Tues-day afternoon with his sister, Mrs. Walker Finlinson and family. Mrs. Welby Finlinson has been on an extended trip with her sister sis-ter to New Orleans, and other points of Interest. Mr. and Mrs. Gib Day and three children made a trip over the week end to Price and did some fishing near there. SHIPLEY Sunday night Sacrament meeting meet-ing was a good program with &take High Councilman Thurman Moody. Mrs. Moody, and' Mr and Mrs. Bert Johnson as speakers. Miss Carman Rose rendered a very fine solo. A large audience attended. Fireside Chat was held after the meeting at the home of David Finlinson. Fin-linson. Mrs. Melva Day from Fillmore is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George E. Finlinson. A good program parade, sports, ball games picture show and dance is outlined for the 24th of July celebration. The MIA is in charge. Mrs. Grant Finlinson went to Cedar City Saturday. She is in the Cedar Hospital for medical care. Saturday night a canyon party was held honoring the outgoing officers of the MIA. Mr. and Mrs Welburn Olsen and Mrs. Lougean Lovell. Miss Rosalie Anderson is visiting visit-ing this week at Provo with her sister Barbara Black. Mr. Brent Lovell spent the week end home from his work at St. George. A birthday party was held Sunday Sun-day for Lafe Olson. All his children were home including Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Oison, from Orem; Mr. and Mrs. Arvln Olson, from Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Carwin Nielson and child ren from Sunset; Mr. and Mrs. Russell Styler and son, and Mr and Mrs. Spencer Webb and children child-ren from Deseret, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Olson and children from Tooele; and Mr. and Mrs. Welburn Olson from Oak City. A turkey dinner was enjoyed. They spent the afternoon visiting. The X-ray Mobile was here Wed nesday afternoon and evening. Many took advantage of this service. ser-vice. Mr. and Mrs. Basil Talbot and sons from Benjamin were Oak City visitors. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Talbot are having a fishing trip vacation this week with their children, George, Viola and family and Daryl and family. Miss Vonetta Jacobson is home for two weeks vacation from her work at Salt Lake. Mr and Mrs. J. Lee Anderson from Benjamin was Oak City visit ors last week. A Lovell reunion was held at Leamington. Representatives from Oak City attended. Mr. and Mrs. Burnis Finlinson and children visited in Ogden a few days last week. HINCKLEY Bertha Lot Mr. and Mrs. Alrna Western and Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Woffindon and fanuly of Salt Lake City took a week end trip down to St George and Zion Canyon. Mrs. Wof findon is the former Beth Western daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alma Western. Mr. and Mrs. June Johnson and son Richard, and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Shields of Tooele have returned re-turned from a trip to Saa Francisco Fran-cisco and Eureka Cal., where they visited with two brothers, then up the coast to Crescent City where they visited with a sister, then on to Portland Oregon and Idaho Falls to visit with other relatives and then back home. Mrs. Loah Cahoon has been visit ing with her mother, Mrs. Emma Stratton. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Workman and daughter Lawanna attended a wed ding reception in Tooele Wednesday Wednes-day night for the daughter of Mrs. Louise Workman Christensen Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ekins, Mr. Verdell Bishop, and Mrs. Belva Morris were in Salt Lake City Thursday on business. Mr. and Mrs. Samual E. Blake of Baldwin Park, Calif., are visiting visit-ing with friends and relatives in Hinckley, Deseret and Delta. The Coalesce club met Thursday night at the home of Vera Stevens. Stev-ens. Lunch was served by Mrs. Stevens after which Mrs. Betty Jane Morris gave a musical review re-view which included sketches and record playing to demonstrate the different types of music. Members Mem-bers present were Betty Jane Morris, Mor-ris, Joy Hurst, Arda Davis, Cherol Reeve, Joyce . Spencer, Dorothy Spencer, Wanda Johnson, Beth Brown, and Lorna Buhanan. Guests were Sebrina Ekins, lone Christensen, Christen-sen, Helen Shurtliff, Verna Anderson And-erson and Orpha Taylor. Clare Bishop, son of Mr. and Mrs Heber Bishop, who has been serving in the 40th Division in Korea, for the past fifteen months landed in Seattle, Wash. July 1 and returned to Hinckley July 8th. Clare plans to spend the summer in Hinckley then return to school this fall. Mr. and Mrs. LaVon Morris and family of Pioche, Nevada, visited Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold R. Morris. Lyuniyl 4-H Club News The N. B. A 4-H club held a meeting July 7th at the home of their president, Linda Greathou3e. They talked about the canyon trip and sewed. Fireside Chat for M Men and Gleanors was held Sunday night after church at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Richard B Shurtliff. The group continued their study of the Book of Mormon. Refreshments were served. A large group was in attendence. Mrs. Bertha Love, Mr. Pat Barney, Bar-ney, and Mr. Orlando Hepworth went to Trout Creek and Callao Sunday to participate in the church services. The people from both places met at one of the homes in Trout Creek for Sunday Sun-day School and meeting. A delicious del-icious chicken dinner was served at noon. The chapel at Callao is nearing completion and will be a lovely place for the people of that branch of the church to hold their socials and services. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Hanson, of Salt Lake City speivt the weekend with Mrs. Emma Spendlove. Mrs. Wanda Barnes of Salt Lake City, and Creek, Oregon have been visiting with Mr. and Mrs Wesley Morris, and Mr. and Mrs. Lafe Nielson and families. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Petersen left Friday for Gannett. Idaho to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Ward Petersen and family. They will "begone "be-gone for a week or ten days. A tea in honor of Mrs. Floyd Dutson was given Monday afternoon after-noon at the home of Mrs. Ray Dutson, by their mother, Mrs. Lor-in Lor-in Dutson. Many friends called and the new bride received many beautiful and useful gifts. Mr. and Mrs Floyd Dutson are making their home in Hinckley. Mrs. Lula Allred of Salt Lake City and Dean Allred and sons of Oak Ridge, Tenn., visited Monday Mon-day with Mrs. Emmeline Stapley.
