Show Attend Wedding In Salt ILake Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Maxfield are in Salt Lake City Wednesday and Thursday for the wedding of their granddaughter Sheila Maxfield. to Mr. Berkley Chandler, and their reception re-ception Thursday. They accompanied the young couple through the Salt Lake Temple Tem-ple Wednesday evening, when their marriage was solemnized and w ill attend the reception in their honor Thursday night in Jefferson ward. The bride is a daughter of Mrs. Jetta Fullmer, of Salt Lake City, and Oda Maxfield, of Las Vegas, Nev. Mr. Chandler is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Berkley T. Chandler, of Salt Lake City. SUTHERLAND 4-H NEWS The Happy Homemakers 4-H club met at the home of Pamela Robison on May 25th. Workmg in two groups we made muffins one group making the muffins,' the other judging them. June 3 our meeting was held at Lorraine Ogden's. Delilah Ogden, our leader, showed us how to make jelly. On June 7 we met at Gwen Laz-enby's. Laz-enby's. Sq., Ramey AFB, Puerto Rico, returned home last week, released from the service. Brent had been with the Air Force over two years, and in Puerto Rico more than a year. Mrs. Loretta Whicker and son and daughter returned home Friday after a visit of a week in Kamas, Utah. Mrs. Dorothy White from Los Angeles, Cal., is visiting in Delta with her parents" Mr. and Mrs. Albert Skldmore. Jessie Lynn Cook, junior at the U of U returned to Delta Friday to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Cook. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David J. Stevens, of Hinckley. Mr. Turner is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Turner, of Coalville, Utah. With them for the wedding cere mony in the temple were the bride's mother Mrs. F.lvn Stevens, her sister, Miss Marie Stevens, Mr. and Mrs. Dee Stevens, of Hinckley Mr. Turner's parents and his cousin Dethert Judd, who stood as best man, and Mrs. Judd and three sisters of Mrs.. Turner, Sr. The new Mr. and Mrs. Turner were honored at open house at the home of his parents in Coalville, Coal-ville, and the bride was honored at a tea and shower in Hinckley before her wedding. A graduate of Hinckley hign school, the bride has attended business bus-iness college and was employed in Salt Lake City. The bridal pair plans a home in Salt Lake. Mrs. Nita Gronning returned to Delta Sunday from Pocatello, Ida., where she had been with her mother Mrs. Charles Burke, who has been seriously 111. Mr. and Mrs. Mux Bennett and son Bob left Delta Saturday for a week's vacation and fishing in Yellowstone national park. Mr. and Mrs. James Anderson and sons are spending this week in Yellowstone for fishing and sightseeing. Mr. an Mrs. Ray Church are home again at Reseda, Cal., after a week's visit in Delta with parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Moody, and family, and members of the Church family. LYNNDYL Y MARY JOHNSON Thursday Mr. and Mrs. Peter Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Frances Burham and children spent the afternoon at the Lile Johnson home The Burnhams were visiting here from Idaho Fails. They returned home Saturday. Miss Clarean Johnson left for Los Angeles Saturday night. She met her parents in Hurricane Tuesday, Tues-day, coming there for the funeral fun-eral services of her grandmother. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Banks of Gallup, N. M., made an overnight stay with parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Banks. They were on their way to Seattle for a Rotary Convention. Con-vention. Thursday evening Mrs. Estella Jones, Mrs. Marion Tooms of Logan and Mrs. Mamie Neres of Salt Lake came and spent the night at the Lile Johnson home. Friday they went on home. Mrs. Connie Tol-bert Tol-bert and Randy went as far as Tooele with them. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Jacobs and family came down from Stockton and spent Saturday night and Sunday Sun-day with Mrs. Mina Overson. Miss Hazel Overson left Thursday for San Francisco to visit her sister Mrs. Dean Durrant. Mr. and Mrs. U'o Haycock and daughters came down from, Salt Lake and with parents Mr. and Mrs. Reed Nielson attended the wedding reception of LuJean and LeRoy Saturday evening in Delta. Mr. and Mrs. Curt Johnson and George spent Saturday in Provo. Eddie Dutson brought his wife and baby son home from the Ts'ep-hi Ts'ep-hi hospital Saturday. The little boy was born Tuesday and was welcomed home by his older sister Orlean and Billy. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hogan went to Salt Lake where they accompanied ac-companied Don Colowitch and Mis Carma Wright of Eureka to the Temple for their marTiage. Mr. and Mrs. Lois Thompson and family drove to Ely, Nev. where Bevan had the cast removed re-moved from his foot. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Greathouse and family are home after a trip to South Dakota. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Nieslon attended atten-ded the graduation of Fred Zitting at the EYU Monday evening. Roberta, Fred, and baby son are leaving today to make their home in Washington. Mr. and Mrs. Phlll Nielson took their tiny daughter up to Spanish Fork for a check-up from the Doctor Doc-tor there. Miis Gladys Banks went with Miss Eecks'ead to the Temple at Manti Tuesday. Monday, June 7, The Hinckley Garden Club met at the home of Adele Peterson, president Sebrina Ekins was in charge of the meeting. Gladys Carter gave a report of a visit the club members made to some outstanding gardens in west Millard. Those visited were Zola Blinker, Hazel Gronning, Inez Moody and the Delta Rose Garden. All were lovely and well cared for. A new project to have nil club members plant a weeping willow tree and liaes at their homes was discussed and npproved the plant ing to be done next spring. The club decided to have a display dis-play of flowers at the county fair in Deseret, August t and 7 as a club project and compete for prizes. Verl Jacobson from Oak City was guest speaker and brought cut flowers for exhibit, showing roses under bottles from cuttings, best kinds to buy for our locality and the sprays and dust to use for rose protection. Each lady was giv en cuttings for plantings and the hostess received a beautiful bouquet bou-quet for her home. Memebrs present besides the hostess were Minnie Talbot, Esther Peterson, Sebrina Ekins, Connie Webb Angle Cahoon. Margie Judd Lula Cropper, May Pratt Arvilla Workman, Erma Cropper, Alice Bliss, Beryl Hardy, Gladys Carter, Helen Shurtliff, La Verne Theobald and Clo Hilton. Refreshments were served by co-hostess Adele and Minnie. The July meeting will be held Monday July 12, at the home of LaVerne Theobald at 2 p. m., n lesson on flower nrrangements will be given by Beth Anderson. A flower Garden convention is to be held at the Newhou.se Hotel in Salt Lake City June 19-20. All garden club members are invited to be there. Delta Third Ward recreation hall was beautifully decorated with summer flowers for the affair and filled with friends and best wishes lor the young couple. The bride is the former LuJean Roper, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon B. Roper, and Mr.. Mc-All-ister is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Lee McAllister. la the receiving line with Mr. ami Mrs. McAllister were their j parents, bridesmaids, Janece Roper J Margn Christensen and Maurinel Anderson and Marvin Jones, from St. George, who stood as best man for his cousin. The bride was lovely in the trad itionnl wedding gown and veil, and caried an orchid bridal bouquet. Her attendants were gowned in pastel formats and carried bouquets bou-quets of roses and carnations. Clinton Roper, brother of the bride, was master of ceremonies for th program.
