Mrs. Hettie Johnson of Sutherland Suther-land spent the day here Friday, with Mrs. Mary Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Banks left Friday for Salt Lake where they spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Banks and family. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Overson and family drove to Stockton Friday evening where they spent the night with their daughters, Dian and Carolyn. Saturday they spent the day shopping in Salt Lake Coming home that evening. Miss Shirley Sheriff who has been a guest of Miss Dian for the past week returned with them. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Abegglen and children drove to Orem Friday Fri-day evening where they visited Mr. and Mrs. DeLong Banks and family. After a day of shopping Saturday, they returned home. Mr. and Mrs. Clade Roundy, of Salt Lake, were down to get their furniture. They have sold their home here. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Morrison of Midvale, were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Sheriff. IVcu s ' MARGENE HILTON The trip to Kanab, Utah, for the Music Festival was very successful success-ful and a lot of fun. Sixteen numbers num-bers were entered and 8 received first rating and 8 second rating. Lula Hilton was chosen to appear on assembly at the close of the day. The students and advisors had rooms reserved for them there and a dance was given for the students. Lunch was also served for the students participating in the festival. On the way home the students went through Zion Canyon and saw the sights there. The trip was made without accident ac-cident and was enjoyed by all who went A lyceum was shown to the students Monday, given by Elaine Browning, xylophone player, and her accompanist. Miss Browning played many classical and popular popu-lar numbers. Miss Browning was very accomplished as was her accompanist. ac-companist. The students really enjoyed en-joyed the program and they believe be-lieve it was one of the best ever presented. Many students and townspeople were present at the play-off tournament tour-nament at Parowan. The people attending were all very enthusi astic and made a good showingAnderson. by cheering and pulling for the ! team. The seventh grade assembly was presented to the students last Friday. All of the seventh grade pupils participated in the presentation presen-tation of the assembly and it was very nice. Many cute parts were given by the students as well as songs and a one-act play. Many of the students' parents came to see them assembly. We have chosen people to judge our assemblies this years and each assembly has to measure up to the standards set up by those people. peo-ple. Therefor the assemblies have had high Ideals and have been very good. The Juniors are starting arrange ments for the annual Junior Prom. The theme isn't to be announced yet but it promises to be a nice one. Various committees have been working hard and have really started working on the prom. Remember Re-member our prom which is on April 24 and be in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald B. Huff left Tuesday for Las Vegas, to spend a short vacation. Theobald visied in Salt Lake several days this week. The little lady is the great granddaughter grand-daughter of Mrs. Lula. Cropper. Marion Dee is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clair Bliss, former residents of Hinckley, and has recently been discharged from the Air Force, after spending the past 2'i years in Japan. Mrs. Ivy Allred entertained on Thursday for her daughter Marilyn's Mari-lyn's birthday. A large group of friends enjoyed the games and delicious lunch. Four year old David Lovell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Lovell, of Springville, spent a week visiting with his aunt, Mrs. Margaret Mc-Cann. Mc-Cann. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Dutson and Rulon Dutson were in Salt Lake City over the week end to be with Mr. M. C. Dutson during an eye operation. Mr Dutson came out 'from the operation very well, and seemed to be making satisfactory recovery.
