He has several weeks training to complete there, and then is to go to El Paso, Texas. Deseret Garden The Deseret Garden Club will meet Thursday, Jan. 8 at 7:30 p. m. at the home of Mrs. Fern Crafts. Mrs. Clarrissa Keast, from Long Beach, Cal., is visiting in Delta with her daughter, Mrs. A. L. Kim-ber, Kim-ber, and family. Norma Kimber, from, BAC, was home for ChrJ-mas, ChrJ-mas, and over the weekend her parents drove to Cedar City with her on her return to college. Mr. and Mrs. M. Ward Moody drove to Roosevelt during the week and Mrs. Moody is .remaining .remain-ing there to help care for the family of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Peterson Pe-terson while her daughter, Mrs. Peterson, is nursing her infant daughter, one of the twins, in an attack of pneumonia, at the hospital. A. M. Harder returned Monday morning from his two weeks visit in Dalton Georgia with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hannah and family. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Munster entertained on New eYar's Eve with a supper for Mr. and Mrs. Leo Davis, Mr. and Mrs. John Wind Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Underhill, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Foote. Five Hundred Hun-dred was played and Mrs. Wind won first prize, Leo Davis the first prize for men. Mrs. Davis and Frank Foote won the booby prizes. Canasta was played play-ed and refreshments were served. Mrs. Henrietta Barben got word her brother, George Watkins from Midway, Utah, fell from a tree and was killed. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Davis made a trip to Salt Lake City Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jensen made a trip to Salt Lake City this week. Eldon Shurtz is home from the hospital and feeling fine. Evan Gardner had the program at Sugarville Sunday night. Little Mana Lovell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. La Forge Lovell, is recuperating at home after a three day stay in the Nephi hospital just before Christmas. The little girl was suffering from near pneumonia. Mrs. Effie Moody and daughter, Miss Norma Moody, returned to their home at Deseret Monday after aft-er a month's visit. They went to Salt Lake City for Thanksgiving, and while Mrs. Moody stayed with her son, Ray Moody, and family. Miss Moody accompanied her sister sist-er and husband, Mr. and Mrs. N. D. Thatcher, on a trip to California. Califor-nia. They spent a week in San Francisco and another- week in Los Angeles, sightseeing and visiting. Nephi Schwab and little son were here with Jeanette's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Over-son Over-son and family. They went on to Logan for New Year's before re turning to Lund, Nevada. Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Whatcott spent a day in Kanosh with Mr. and Mrs. Newell Howlett and family. fam-ily. Mr.a nd Mrs. Carl Whatcott returned to Vernal after spending the holidays with relatives here and in Oak City. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Abegglen and children left Wednesday for St. Anthony, where they visited with Mr. Abegglen's aged mother who is seriously ill. They returned home Sunday. Hrs. Abegglen is teaching school for Mrs. Inez Wil ey, whose son, Gary, is home with scarlet Fever. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Benson and family returned home Sunday aft er two weeks in Los Angeles where they visited Mr. and Mrs Alley Benson and other relatives. Mrs. Rachel Simpson came down from Provo and on Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Simpson they left for Los Angeles. They were George T. Watkins, of Midway, died Sunday o injuries received Dec. 31, when he fell while pruning a tree. He was a brother of Mrs. Henrietta Barben, Delta RFD. Funeral Fun-eral services were conducted Wednesday Wed-nesday at Midway. Connie Perkins , Iris Holman, Delta high school, and Verlena Stevens and Lorraine Petersen, of Hinckley high school, 1952 delegates dele-gates to Girls State at Logan in June, attended the Girls' State reunion re-union Tuesday nigiit, Dec. 30, at the Newhouse Loie.
