Manning Jolley has introduced two bills that are very similar and gets the nod of "pet" legislation. SB 168 would allow appointment appoint-ment of a board to conduct the affairs of the Utah State hospital at Provo and would permit the board to appoint a non-medical M. I. A. CONJOINT SET FOR MARCH 27TII Sunday evening, March 27th, has been designated by the Alpine Al-pine stake MIA as canjoint meeting meet-ing night. The Mutual Improvement Improve-ment Associations of the nine wards will present an evening of music, speech and story. The meeting will be held in the Alpine Al-pine stake tabernacle and there will be no other regular meetings in the wards that night. Mrs. Dean S. Farnsworth will direct the singing of numbers by a youth chorus of the stake. Miss Beth Ovard and Mrs. Joseph Hansen, stake board members, are in charge of the speeches and stories. The stake officers of the MIA are in charge of the program. administrator when they deemed it adviseable. SB 225 is similar in that it would take the State Industrial school at Ogden out from under the wing of the Welfare commission commis-sion and provide it with a board of governors who would appoint a superintendent for the school. SB 99 provides for election of county planning commissioners on alternate years and provides machinery for closer coordination coordina-tion and unified effort in county planning.
