Fork High School Girls Day Here Friday Mothers of all junior and sen ior high school students are in vited to attend the annual Girls' Dav activities at the American Fork High School May 14. "A Pretty Girl Is Like a Melody" Is the theme of the day, and the events are under the direction of the Girls' League officers Ear-lene Ear-lene Nelson, president!; Betsy Robinson, vice-president; Maxine Smith. Joan Carlisle, and Lola Wagstaff, class representatives These girls working with the fac ulty advisers of the Girls' League Miss Margaret Hansen and Miss Kathryn Weeks have scheduled the program of the day as follows: assembly 10:30 a. m.; combination dance-revue and fashion show 3 p. m., high school auditorium; tea 4:30 p. m high school library; dance Firm- age Hall at 9 p. m. The numbers for the assembly are being arranged by Earlene Nelson and Maxine Smith in cooperation with Mrs. Laura B. NieLson and K. J. Bird. The fashion show Is under the direction of Miss Wanda Winn Earlene Nelson will welcome the mothers; a response from the mothers will be given by Mrs Reed H. Robinson. Girls In key positions for modeling are: commentators, com-mentators, Connie Pritchett and Joann Knight; script writers- Barbara Faddis and Florence De .Marco; stage decoration Joyce Bell, Chloe Bennett, Marilyn Vacher, and Marilyn Binns, La Rae Pittman; music JoAnne Bo-ley, Bo-ley, Nadine Monson, Connie Robinson, Rob-inson, Margaret Morton, Kathleen Kath-leen Devey, Mary Peck, and Joan Ellison; typists, Marie Miller; charge of models, Una Nielson. Dances for the dance revue are being taught by Mrs. Laura B. Nielson. Seventh, eighth and ninth grade students will present folk dances; tenth grade, creative. crea-tive. Special features will be given by. the following students in groups or solo numbers: Barbara Bar-bara Faddis, Helen Wilson, Louise Boley, Janet Shelton, Betty Nelson, Nel-son, Lucille Turner, Donna Richards, Rich-ards, Renee Shelton, Jeanette Nuttall, Linda Hall, Joan Karren, Dorine Oliver, Betsy Robinson, Carolyn Pulley, La Rae Larsen, Joyce Shelton, Carolyn Bromley, Shirley Richards, Joleen Grant, Jeanette Mecham, Ruth Moss. A social dance will conclude the dance numbers with Barbara Faddis, Frank Bailey, Janice Chadwick, Keith Smith, Joyce Bell and Jay Bell. The tea is under the direction of Kathryn Weeks' Home Living class. The following girls will serve: Betsy Robinson, Shirley Crookston, Thella Mayne, Marilyn Mari-lyn Nuttall, Joan Carlisle, Lola Wagstaff, Maxine Smith, Ramona Hunsaker, La Rae Tidwell, La Dean Healey, Rose Iverson, Colleen Col-leen Mc Gee, and Jane Milhaupt. Fork Dairy Block Dissolved A meeting of the American Fork Bull Block members was held Thursday, May 6th, in the American Fork City Hall, at which time it was decided by a majority of the members to dis solve the Association. This Association has been ac tlve in American Fork for 8 years and has rendered a most valu able service to the community in promoting a high type of animal for the family cow. It has meant thousands of dollars to the people in better and more efficient production of milk in the family. The present president of the Association is Rulon Nicholes and the secretary treasurer is Jesse W. Spafford. NOTICE Alpine School District is spon soring a summer Kindergarten, to commence Tuesday, June 1, at the Harrington school. Registration Regis-tration will be the week of May 17 to 21 from 3 to 4 p. m. at the Harrington. There is no charge and all children entering the first grade in the fall are eligible. LATONA THREATENED While cleaning the Latona dance hall Wednesday morning, the floor cleaner which was being be-ing heated was splashed on the stove, ignited and set fire to the front of the structure. A quick run by the Volunteer Fire department de-partment held the damage to a good scorching. OLD AGE PENSION TO BE DISCUSSED Elias L. Day, member of the Utah state senate, will meet Saturday, May 15, with all persons per-sons in north Utah county interested inter-ested in the Old Age Pension. The meeting will be held in the Memorial Building in Lehi at 8 p. m. The speaker will be . prepared to answer questions and clear up problems connected with the issue. ' Election of officers and reports on county Red Cross activities will take place at a dinner-meeting of the Utah County chapter to be held at the Silver Star, Orem, Monday, May 17, at 7:30 p. m., Clarence H.
