Lott, the new rates on power used by city customers has reduced re-duced the city revenue from this source by a considerable margin. The report showed the January production as follows: Metered kilowatts, 93,513 with gross reading read-ing $3,324.57; cash collections of $3,391.51. February showed: metered kilowatts, 111,660 with gross reading $3,483.20 with cash collections $3,582.71. The March reading, the first month the new rate was in effect, shows metered kilowatts 93928, with a gross reading read-ing $2,588.08; cash collections $2,582.09. This shows an average monthly decrease from the old rate of approximately $800.00 per month which wipes out any prospect pros-pect of profit to the system at our present operating plant costs of 1.97c per kilowatt hour generated. The mayor and city council are striving to solve the problem of adequate power and more revenue reve-nue from it along with several other outstanding advantages of a one-system distribution with the advantage of eliminating one set of poles off the city streets and fewer and less prolonged power interruptions. Wing and Di rectors Thomas Powers, George Lewis, Daryl Fowler and Dean Prior announce that the Lehi Roundup committee , assignment of the past few years will be fol lowed for this year's celebration. Already most of these are functioning, func-tioning, and all are making plans for the biggest show yet put on in Lehi Roundup History. The committee chairmen are as follows : Rodeo, S. I. Goodwin ; parades, E. N. Webb; concessions, Stanley Taylor; finance, Daryl Fowler; publicity. Dean Prior Committee membership will be about the same as in the past with new members being assign ed daily. These assignments will be published later, so watch for your particular job. Mr. Prior of publicity informs us that Newell Turner, in charge of overhead . flag and banner street decorations, is busy plan ning new methods of making the signs more secure and attractive Some of these will be put in place next week. The Rodeo committee is hold mg out on Prior's publicity on the name of that surefire "knock 'em in the aisles" Rodeo clown to work with Bennie Bender, but has promised to release his name to them for next weeks edition. Goodwin is all smiles when he talks of his "secret," but we will say he must be good to main tain the high caliber of clowns the Lehi Roundup has had in the past. With this year's show scheduled schedul-ed for June 26, 27, and 28, and the grand championship for the 29th and approved by R. c. a. and R. a. a. the entire offering should bring the show to the very top of rodeo, and make it one of the major attractions listed for the state-wide centennial celebrations celebra-tions in '47. Bid Accepted For New Road Project The L. A. Young Construction Company of Salt Lake City was awarded the bid for construction of a mixed bituminous surfaced highway and an 84-foot steel and concrete bridge over the Jor dan river, to connect Lehi with the Redwood road, it was announced an-nounced this week. The bid will be sent to the U. S. Government offices in Washington, D. C, for approval before work on the new highway will commence. The new road will begin at the Junior Evans property west of the Saratoga turn, and will continue con-tinue due west to join with the present Camp Williams road, cutting cut-ting the distance considerably from Lehi to Camp Williams. The new bridge will replace the obsolete, ob-solete, hazardous bridge now crossing the river, making travel to the west safer. It Is hoped that Cedar Valley residents and other interested parties will push the project of getting an oil-surfaced road to that community, which will make travel to Tooele safer. There are now 75 Lehi residents traveling the road daily to employment in Tooele, it is reported. Residents passing by the Walter Wal-ter Webb residence on South Third West street are enthralled by the myriads of colorful tulips now in full bloom. Hundreds of lovely colors and varieties enhance en-hance the home grounds, creating creat-ing a beautiful sight well worth travelling many miles to see. Mr. and Mrs. Webb have enjoyed tulip raising as a hobby for many years, and many Lehi gardens have been beautified with bulbs from the Webb gardens.
