Show THURSDAY, JUNE mJ THE LEUI SUN, LEIII, UTAH THURSDAY, JUNE 28, 1945 f m THE TELEPHOHE WAITING LIST... "Now that the war in Europe is over, when will J get a telephone?? That is the question being asked by many people whose applications applica-tions for telephone service are delayed. In the Mountain States territory there are more than 56,000 orders for service now held on waiting lists. Western Electric now has been authorized to resume unlimited manufacture of telephone tele-phone instruments, hut that does not mean that telephones will begin to roll off the assembly lines at once in pre-war quantities. Production is still-limited by shortages of manpower and materials and by the needs of war. But the shortage of telephone instruments is not the only reason for the telephone waiting list. Until the wires between the subscriber's premises and the telephone office five available, as well as the equipment in tiic telephone exchange, the instrument itself is" of no use. Telephone manufacturing plants are busy making magnetic, acoustic, and electronic equipment for our fighting forces in the Pacific. Pa-cific. War must come first. When progress in the war against Japan permits the reconversion reconver-sion of these plants to civilian purposes, and all the needed facilities become available, then installing them will be the biggest job in our Company's history one to which we all look forward. We do not like to keep people waiting for telephone service. THE MOUNTAIN STATES TELEPHONE & TELEGRAPH CO. Lehi City Garbage Collection Route Organized The garbage collection program being sponsored by the Lehl City Council began this week, with a regular route being organized. Anyone may subscribe for the garbage collection service. A $1.00 registration fee is charged, which is applied on the regular fee, which is $1.00 for one month's weekly service; $5.00 for six months; or $9.50 for one year, all payable in advance. No collections collec-tions will be made for less than one dollar. In the event that the property owner wishes to discontinue the service at any time, a refund will be made, according to Mayor Lewis. Many local families are enjoying enjoy-ing noise-free and trouble-free trouble-free refrigeration today because they chose a Servel before the war! This different, simpler refrigerator refrig-erator stays silent, lasts longer, for a yery good reason. It hasn't a single moving part in its freezing system. There's . . . Nothing To Wear Nothing To Get Noisy A tiny gas flame does all the work. That's why even after 8, 10, 12 years of constant use owners can say, "Our Servel is still economical, still giving us the same dependable service it did when it was new." So plan for a permanently silent, sil-ent, longer-lasting refrigerator after the war. And save for it with War Bonds. Don't Be A "Barefoot Boy!"
