Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Russon and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Russon spent Monday evening at the Salt Lake temple. Mrs. Dolores Dalinger and Miss jpnn nnnHrinVi nf Provo were Sunday visitors at the home of their uncle and aunt, Mr. ana Mrs. O. Stone and family. William W. Woodhouse of Idaho Ida-ho Falls, Idaho, visited with Mrs, Rachel Anderson on Friday. Richard Smuin, son of Mr. and Mrs. LaVell Smuin of Magna, who is on teave from Farragut, Uaho, spent last week in Lehi with relatives. Mrs. Evan Eair of California, who is visiting friends and relatives rela-tives in Alpine, and Mrs. Ernest Reimschiissel of American Fork visited with Mrs. Myron Burgess Sunday afternoon and evening. CLUB NEWS Mrs. James Gottfredson of Caliente, Nevada, visited in Lehi this week with Mr. and Mrs. William Skinner, and with Mrs. James Gottfredson, Jr. and baby in American Fork. Honoring Rex Gardner, who was here for a few days on leave from the U. S. Navy, family gatherings gath-erings were held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Angus Gardner Saturday, at the Rax Gardner home on Sunday, and at the home of Mr. and Mrs..Byam H. Curtis in Provo on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Anderson Ander-son are moving into the former Morris Anderson home on Main Street this week. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Anderson and family are making their home in Salt Lake City. Mr. Anderson is a law student at the University of Utah. Liahonian club members scheduled sched-uled their annual Christmas party for Wednesday evening, December 20. The delightful affair af-fair was to be held at the home of Mrs. Fay Manning, with Mrs. Utella Taft and Mrs. Alta Wan-lass Wan-lass as co-chairmen. Exchanging Exchang-ing of gifts was a highlight of the evening. . Mrs. Fern Russon and Mrs. Florence Jensen, members of the Utah County board of the Daughters Daugh-ters of the Utah Pioneers, attended attend-ed a Christmas party for patients of the county infirmary at Provo Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Russon Rus-son favored with readings during the delightful program. Mrs. Martha Ball has returned from a delightful three week's visit in Nevada and California. At Las Vegas, Nevada, she was the guest of her sister, Mrs. Joseph Forbes, in Los Angeles she visited with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Joseph Elsmore, and at Mc-Gill, Mc-Gill, Nevada, she visited with her brother-in-law, George Ball, and family. Mrs. Boyd Larsen (Roberta Ball) has left for Oakland, California, Cali-fornia, where she will join Dr. Larsen, who has just returned from overseas duty with the U. S. Navy. Dr. Larsen expects to be stationed at Oakland until after the first of the year. CLUB NEWS Members of the Junior Athen ian club will hold their next meeting Thursday, January 11, at the A. K. Chatfield home, with Mrs. Josephine Chatfield as hostess. Mrs. Arlene Keats will review the popular book, "Brave Men" by Ernie Pyle. Members of the Auctus club enjoyed a delightful Christmas party at the home of Mrs. Byron Whipple Saturday evening. The room was tastefully decorated, with a large Christmas tree and a beautifully decorated mantel. During the evening a program was enjoyed, followed by singing of Christmas carols. Delicious refreshments were served to twenty. Program numbers included in-cluded piano duets by Mrs. Frank Shaw and Mrs. Raymond Baily, a reading by Mrs. Hugh Rhodes, piano selections by Miss LaPriel Goodwin, and vocal numbers by Mrs. Grace Webb. NEW BOOKS FOR HOLIDAY READING A number of new books for your holiday enjoyment have just been added to the shelves of the Lehi public library, according ac-cording to Mrs. M. W. Wathen, librarian. Books for old and young are included in the collection, collec-tion, and a number of popular books will be added to the rental shelf, with others being put on the regular shelves. Included among the new books just received are some excellent non-fiction, including "A Bible Dictionary," "Temples of the Most High" by Lundwall, "The Prophet Joseph Smith," by Nib-ley, Nib-ley, an encyclopedia of sports, and "Highway to Alaska" by Lund; all the latest in up-to-date reading. A number of good fiction books have been recently added to the shelves. Mrs. Wathen reports that the circulation for November reached reach-ed the record number of 1,674 books, showing that the public in general is turning more to books as a means of entertainment. LEHI, UTAH PLAY PRESENTED IN FIRST WARD A one-act play, "Spy Me Trus One," was presented in the First ward Tuesday evening, under the direction of the M. I. A. Teach Spanish After World War I. Texas opposed op-posed the teaching of any foreign language in the grade schools. In 1941, however, this state that shares a 1,200-mile border with Mexico decided to legalize the teaching of Spanish and now 1,125 Texas school districts are. teaching Spanish to over a quarter of ' a million mil-lion children.
