He is a 1 of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lam-hprt Lam-hprt His brother, Tony, arrived fre Tuesday morning from Texas where he is stationed with the army Radio Technician 2c Lynn Gray of of the U. S. Navy left Monday night for Mare Island, California, after spending a week's furlough here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Gray. He was accompanied by Radio Technician 2c Harry Walder of New York, who also spent his furlough here. The young men expect to be assigned to submarine duty. Master Sergeant Kenneth J. Kearney is leaving the latter part of the week for duty, after spending the past two weeks with his mother, Mrs. D. H. Milne. He has been in England for the past twenty months, flying to the United States from there. J i Vf r - i laStSSILj V-- Owen Gray, son, of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gray, is spending a three-weeks furlough here. He recently returned from duty in the south sea area, where he participated in combat. He will report at Camp Roberts, Calif., at the termination of his furlough. Corporal Raymond E. Barnes, who has been serving with the headquarters battery of the army at Oakland, California, recently re-cently was transferred to San Francisco. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Barnes. Aviation Machinist's Mate 3c Donald Gale writes his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Luther Gale, that he has been assigned to missionary mis-sionary duty in Jacksonville, Florida, where he is stationed with the U. S. navy. He says he is thrilled to have been called to do this work, and is devoting a great deal of the time he is off duty to it. WILSON, Agent TEXACO OIL STATION Phone: 110-J Mrs. Luther Gale has received word of the appointment of her brother, Arthur L. Merrell, to the position of assistant chaplain with the U. S. army in Hawaii. Chaplain Merrell writes that he is fortunate in having an L. D. S. chaplain as his superior. He served as a missionary in the Southern States, where he was a companion of Keith Larsen and Reed Allred of Lehi, prior to Joining the- army. He had been studying radio previous to his appointment as chaplain. SCHOOL CAFETERIA CLOSES SUCCESSFUL YEAR The Lehi school cafeteria, under un-der the direction of Mrs. A. H. Bone, has completed a successful year, with five hundred students and teachers being served each school day since Thanksgiving. The serving of the large number was accomplished in a very efficient ef-ficient manner, and the ladies who worked at the center are to be congratulated on its success. The women workers at the" center honored Mrs. Bone at a social in the lunch room Wednesday, Wed-nesday, when she was presented with a lovely pottery vase of snapdragons as a token of their esteem. The committee on arrangements ar-rangements included Mrs. Nedra Ball, Mrs. Audrey Price, Mrs. Dorothy Ball, and Mrs. Ada All-red. MEMORIAL BUILDING TO CLOSE SATURDAYS AT NOON Beginning Saturday, May 27, the Lehi Memorial building will be closed to the public after 12 noon during the summer months. This includes the city office, the OP A office, and the public library.
