Diehl of Salt Lake City were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Powell and family. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Diehl of Spanish Fork visited in Lehi Saturday afternoon and evening with Mr. and Mrs. cnanes turner turn-er and Mr, and Mrs. Ralph Powell and family. After spending ten days in Salt Lake City visiting with her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Mugleston, and her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Jackson and family, Mrs. Samuel Jackson returned to her home Sunday evening. Sunday callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Powell were Mr. and Mrs. Charles Turner, Mr. and Mrs. John Ernst and j children of Magna, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Turner, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Al-bert West and son of Draper and Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Mc-Farlane Mc-Farlane of Riverton. Various phases and problems of Primary work were discussed, after which delicious refreshments- were served. Mrs-Matilda Phillips held a quilting at her home Monday afternoon, with a number of frienda-in attendance. Utah, has won his silver pilot's wings at this specialized two-engine pilot school of the Army Air Forces Training Command. He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant at graduation exercises. Lieut. Hacking is a graduate of the Lehi High School and the Brigham Young University. Christmas greetings have been received at the Sun office from Pft. Arland L. Russon. In a personal per-sonal note he said he surely did appreciate the Sun, "it is like a lot of letters from home". LUKE FIELD. ARIZONA John A. Berry, son of Mr. David Berry of Cedar Valley, Utah, has successfully suc-cessfully completed his flisht training at the Army Air Forces Pilot School (Advanced Single Engine) Luke Field, Arizona. At graduation ceremonies December De-cember 6. 1943. he received the Army Air Corps silver wings and a second lieutenant's commission in the Army Air Corps Reserve. He received his prefheht train ing at Santa Ana, Calif., and pilot training with Army Flying Units at Oxnard and Lemoore Air Field Calformo before com ing to Luke Field. St. Louis, Mo., Dec. 10 Among the 127 seniors in the Washington Washing-ton University Schools of Medicine Medi-cine and Dentistry who received degrees at the university's fifth commencement exercises on Sunday, December 12, in Graham Memorial Chapel was Boyd Jos. Larsen, 211 E. Main, Lehi, Utah, doctor of medicine. Upon graduation grad-uation he was commissioned a lieutenant in the Naval Reserve. After graduation the students will serve nine months' internship intern-ship after which most of them will enter active service with the Army or Navy. They will receive commissions in the Army or Navy and will be on inactive duty du-ty until completion of their internship. in-ternship. Chancellor George R. Throop awarded 111 medical degrees and 16 dental degrees. Comdr. Bartholomew W. Ho-gan, Ho-gan, who was recently awarded the Silver Star Medal by Secretary Secre-tary of the Navy Frank Knox for gallantry in action as senior medical officer when the carrier Wasp was sunk, delivered the commencement address on "Navy Medicine."
