This plan would not only insure stable employment and conditions throughout through-out the industry, but would also solidify the position of the government govern-ment of the United States in world affairs. TEXACO SERVICE State Street Lehi After a year and a half of active ac-tive service as a lieutenant in the United States Navy, Leornard K. F irestone has been placed on in active duty to enable him to re turn to war production work as head of the Los Angeles plant of The Firestone Tire & Rubber Company. Mr. Firestone will assume as-sume his new duties on July 25 and he will succeed R. J. Cope, who has retired oh account of ill health. Mr. Firestone has, until recent ly, been assigned to the Procurement Procure-ment and Materials Office of the Navy Department, where he has been engaged in survey work. His release is an indication of the great importance that the Government attaches, to the maintenance 0 f production schedules. The Los Angeles plant is producing a large number num-ber of essential war products and officials felt that Mr. Firestone was best qualified to take over the management of the Coast factory.
