Mrs. Alice Austin and daughter, Virginia, spent last Wednesday at the L. D. S. hospital hi Salt Lake City, visiting Alice Beck, Mrs. Austin's granddaughter, who Is very ill there. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Richard Douglas and little son, Richard Jr., of Salt Lake City were guests at the Stice home. Lehi relatives received announcement announce-ment cards this week telling of the birth of a fine baby son, weighing 7V4 pounds, to Mr. and Mrs. Louis B. Stewart of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Mex-ico. The baby arrived on June 25. Mother and baby are reported doing do-ing nicely. Mr. Stewart Is a former resident of this city. 6he is Madeline Gray, pictured here, and her new idea offers prizes to youngsters for telling things to do m their spare time and ways to make money. She will present children chil-dren themselves on the radio. Dave "Hobby Lobby" Elman Is rapidly depleting the ranks of the NBC page boys. To date eight of them have resigned to act as guides out at Elman's World's Fair exhibit. For the past several weeks she has been training under Darrel, professional pro-fessional hair stylist at Makoffs in Salt Lake City. She commenced last Saturday and will be there until a j. n Mrs. Jennie Hartshorn and son, Ralph, arrived home Tuesday evening, eve-ning, after enjoying a vacation in California. They visited in Mercede with her sister, Mrs. Alice Halstead and family, and came home through Los Angeles and Southern Califor nia. They made the trip in com pany with Mrs. Hartshorn's brother and wife, Mr, and Mrs. Elmo St. Jeor of Salt Lake City. They were gone two weeks and report a won derful trip. Mrs. Charles Crabb and son, Kirk, spent Monday and Tuesday of last week visiting throughout Southern Utah. They first visited in Payson with Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Crabb and Mrs. Orrin Winget and family, then In Monroe with Mr. and Mrs. Woodruff Wood-ruff Magleby and family and Mrs Crabb's sister, Mrs. Wanlass. From there their trip continued to Anti mony, where they visited with another an-other son, Glendon Crabb, then down through Cedar Breaks and to Cedar City, where they visited with Craig Crabb. From Cedar City they came direct home and report an enjoyable trip. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Jorgensen, Mr, and Mrs. C. L. Ash, Lexla. Bate- man and Thelma Goodwin will leave this week-end for an extensive eastern trip. They will visit the Lions International convention in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, July 19-22, 19-22, and the New York world's fair, being at the fair on Utah Day, July 24. They will return the end of the month. Miss Bessie Loveridge of Burley, Idaho, spent Sunday here visiting with Miss Ruth Peterson. Among the social events of the past week was the miscellaneous shower party given last Saturday evening by Mrs. A. F. Galsford in compliment to the marriage of her daughter, Miss Beth Galsford, and Mr. Milton Densely of Riverton. The evening was spent in games and social chat, after which refreshments were served. The young bride received re-ceived many beautiful and useful gifts. They 'traveled through Weber canyon and en route home visited at Como Springs. They report an enjoyable trip. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Worlton and baby son, Freddie, of Ocean Park, California, arrived here Sunday for a visit with relatives. They came on account of the death of Mrs. Worlton's father, Mr. Harrison of Provo. and left Monday morning for Colorado, where Mr. Harrison was buried. Mr. Worlton's mother, Mrs. G. S. Mr. and Mrs. Bernie Wicen and little daughter, - Madeline, visited here last week on their return to Thompson, Utah, following a visit to the fair in San Francisco. Sim-merman. Their visit here has been the motif for a number of family gatherings and socials. Trips and outings to the nearby canyons, outings out-ings to Saratoga resort, dinner parties par-ties and socials have been given during the past week in their honor hon-or by Mr. and Mrs. Zimmerman and other relatives and friends. They returned to their homes in Canada Tuesday morning, reporting a pleasant pleas-ant visit in Utah. Mrs. Miller is a Fistr-r of Mrs. Zimmerman, and is the daughter of the late Martha W. Bushman. Their son, Dick, accompanied them as far as Annapolis, where he entered the Naval Academy there. They drove direct to Annapolis from Lehi. Dick spent two days taking his physical examination and was then admitted to the academy after passing the examination one hundred per cent. They left Dick at Annapolis and they continued their trip to Wash ington, D. C visiting all historic points of interest there and had the opportunity of seeing both the House and the Senate in session. They spent two days at the fair in New York City, visited Niagara Falls and visited in Detroit. Michigan, Mich-igan, going through the Ford plant. I visiting the zoo and other places of interest. They went by way of the Rocky Mountain National Park en route to Annapolis. AH along the way they visited places and points ,of historical Interest and report wonderful trip.
