Mr. Oough has been very critically 111 In Salt Lake City for the past two weeks and for some tune no hopes were held for his recovery, but at last reports he was improving. Misa Virginia Miles entertained at a Thanksgiving dinner party Saturday afternoon at the home of h-T grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Colledue. A wedding reception was held In the Alpine Amusement Hall last Thursday evening, complimentary to Miss Zora Healey and Ferrin Sagers, who were married last week. Those from Lehl attending were Mr. and Mrs. B. W, Brown and daughter, Zola, Miss Cleo Ashton. Mrs. Alice Hutching, Fay and Lu-die Lu-die Hutching s, Mrs. Amy Smith and daughters, Juanita and Eulala, BUI Racker and Miss Delia Street. Walter W. Dlckerson and Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Curtis and son, Arthur, arrived In Lehl Sunday evening from Mississippi. The Curtis family fam-ily live at LaMar. Mississippi, and Mr. Dlckerson has been living at Mirfilcan Cltv. Mississippi- They willl remain here for an Indefinite visit and Mr. Dickerson may return hark to MisslsstDDi later. They made ths trio by automobile. Mrs. Dickerson and family arrived home in September. The Social club ladles entertained at a bridge-luncheon last Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Clara Larsen for the benefit of the Child's Health and Welfare Council. Bridge Was" played at small tables during thi afternoon, high score prize being be-ing -son by Mrs. I. L. Lott. Men and Gleaner Girls banquet, athletics, dramatics, spiritual activities and all activities outlined for this group, under the supervision of Mr. prior. o - SECOND WARD RELIEF SOCIETY SO-CIETY PLAY A SUCCESS -The play, entitled, "The Girl in the Fur Coat", presented in the Second ward Saturday evening was proclaimed a rousing success. The Amusement Hall v was crowded to capacity and those taking part In the play deserve a great deal of praise for the splendid way In which they portrayed the various characters. Members of the cast were Mrs. Rhea Eddington, Ferrel Brems, Vera W. Webb, Mrs. Emily Johnson, John-son, Miss Betha Allred, Virginia Meiling, Mrs. Laura Evans. " Karl Webb, Paul Jones, Wanda Peter son and LaVerl Allred. De-cember. Both Miss Goates and Mr. Wing are eraduates of the Lehl High School and both have been active in church and social affairs. They are popular members of the citjrs younger set and are well-known In the community. Several socials are being planned in their honor. o MARRIAGE ANNOUNCED Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Ha Spencer of American Fork, and Milan Fowler Fowl-er of this city, which took place last Wednesday. Both young people have many friends in the community showering shower-ing them with wishes .for future happiness and success. They are well-known and well-liked and are popular among the younger circles. They will make their home In Lehl for the present time. Miss Spencer is the granddaugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson of this4 city, and formerly lived in Lehl.. Mr. Fowler Is the son of Ed-waard Ed-waard H. Fowler; ' o ; ENGAGEMENTS ANNOUNCED Mr and Mrs; Jacob Coleman of Provo announce the engagement of their daughter, AUne, to Virgil J. Smith of Lehl, the marriage to take place the latter part of December. Miss Coleman Is an Instructor at the B. Y. U. and Is a member of the Phi Delta Pi and the Theta Alpha Phi Fraternities, the Gamma Phi Omlcron sorority and also the Nautilus social unit. Mr, Smith is a graduate of the Brigham Young university and a member of the Delta Phi and Tau Kappa Alpha fraternities. o ' Golden Wedding Celebrated 0 Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sims will entertain at their home Wednesday evening, November 29, at a social, honoring the golden wedding anni versary of Mr. and Mrs. James Bryant, Bry-ant, former residents of this city who are now living in Salt Lake City. The guests include members of the family and close friends of Mr. and Mrs. Bryant. Numerous lively games and program numbers will be enloved. followed by a delicious luncheon. . James Bryant Is seventy-five years of age and Mary Gurney Bryant seventy-one years of age. They were married in the old Endowment House at Salt Lake City November 29, 1883, and made their home in Lehi for a number of years. They later moved to Canada where they lived for about fifteen years, returning return-ing back to Lehl where they made their home for some time. They then moved to Salt Lake City and have made their home in that city for the past five years. . They were the parents of eight children. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Bryant join with the Lehl Sun In wishing them many happy ' returns re-turns of the day and offering hearty congratulations on this golden wedding wed-ding anniversary. ; o DELICIOUS LUNCHEON SFRVED TO CHILDREN HOSPITAL NOTES Mr. Luther Coates had a tumor removed from his ear at the local hospital last ; Wednesday morning. Frank Fagan was treated for an infected thumb at the hospital Thursday. Friday Odell Peterson had a boil on his wrist opened at the hospital. Lynn Lewis received treatment for his back at the hospital Friday. Fri-day. Madge Hutchlngs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hutchlngs, had her tonsils removed at the local hospital, Friday. During the past week, since last Wednesday, Ue'lclous and wholesome whole-some hot lunches have been served to numerous school children of Lehl by the Child Health's and Welfare Wel-fare committee in charge of preparing pre-paring and serving the lunches for undernourished "school children. On November 22, 117 children were served lunches, 133 served on November No-vember 23, 170 on November 24, 143 on November 27, and 170 on November 28. The main committee in charge of this feature consists of Mrs. lone Gilchrist, chairman; Mrs. Le-nore Le-nore T. Jones, Mrs. Ethel Goates, Mrs. Lillie Winn and Mrs. Maud Adams. This committee have served the lunches all during the past week. Different organizations will be given the duty of serving the lunch es each week, however, a member of the board will be there every day, The complete schedule of or ganizations outlined for the task wiii be given later. FIFTH WARD PLAY SATURDAY EVENING The Fifth ward Relief Society are presenting, a mystery play, en titled, "Haunted", Saturday evening in the ward Amusement Hall. A splendid cast, including Clell Jackson, Keith Lott, Roberta Ball, Carol Proctor, Von Adamson and Dr. J. G. Jones, directed by Miss Cleo Royle, have been hard at work for the past few weeks rehearsing and are sure to put over a splendid performance. ' .' o F. F. A.
