LEHI STAKE MEMBERS VISIT MANTI TEMPLE A large caravan of Lehl Stake people left about 4:30 a. m. Wednes day morning for the Mantl temple and arrived there In time to attend the 9 a. m. session through the tem ple. J ' This excursion was sponsored by the Fifth ward Prayer circle. Members Mem-bers of prayer circles and their wives from all the wards in the stake were invited and a large group attended. Those making the trip report a very enjoyable trip to Manti Man-ti and through the temple. Another excursion to the Manti temple will be held next Wednesday, September 7, sponsored by the Third ward Prayer Circle members. They invite all members of Prayer Circles and their wives In the stake to at tend. MRS- B. G. WEBB INJURED ' WHEN ATTACKED BY COW Mra. Bernard G. Webb suffered a severe gash on her arm and was badly bruised Friday night about S o'clock when a cow ran toward her, knocked her down and trampled tram-pled on her. Her entire body was badly bruised and several stitches were necessary to close the wound on her arm. Mr. Webb was Just bringing the cows home, when Mrs- Webb went into the yard to tell hiin that he was wanted on the telephone. The Webb's have two cows with new calves and one of the cows ran toward her calf and then the other one started and Mrs. Webb think ing that It also was running for Its calf was not frightened- Instead the cow ran directly for Mrs. Webb, KnocKea ner over and trampled her quite severely before help could reach her. At the time of the ac cident Mr. Webb was on the other side of the barn putting hia horse away. Mrs- Meservy is "O "," -c a Bister to' Edward -Southwick of this city. : !'! She was born March 5," 1869, in Norwick England ana v " came to Utah with ' her parents, Edward and Ann M. Taylor Southwick, in 1871, settHnfr lit SpringM11- She later lived In Lehl and on February 15, 1894, she married George' R- Maaervy in the Salt Lake temple and twenty-five years ago they moved to Provo. Mrs. Meservy was an ardent church worker and also a prom inent woker In the Utah county chapters of the Daughters of the Pioneers organisation and was a mefenber of the county executive board at the time of her death. Before the Lehl , ward was divided Mrs- Meservy was President Presi-dent of the Y. L M. I. A. When the drive was on in Lehi, the first drive . for the old, "Contributor", now the Improvement Era, she won a nrize of 8250.00 and donated It to the Lehi Library. . She held numerous offices in the Y. L M. I- A in Genealogical and Relief Society organixatlons in Springville, Pleasant "View and Provo. Previous to her marriage to Mr. Meservy she was . a school teacher at Springville. Mrs. Meservy Meser-vy has many friends hi the com munity, who will mourn her loss- Besides her husband she is sur vived by two sons and two daugh tors, Edward S- and Oliver S. Mes ervy of Salt Lake, Mrs. Helen Lindsey, Heber City and Mrs. Leah Wheeler, Provo and an adopted daughter, Misa Nellie Gudgon, Provo; two brothers, Arthur J. LEHI RIFLE TEAM4 WINS 2nd PLACE IN STATE MEET The Lehi American Legion Rifle club took second place in the state meet, held in St. rGVorg-e last Fri day, during the American Legion State Convention.
