Brown has been suffering suf-fering with blood poisoning, resulting result-ing from being bit by & cat She has been quite ill, but Is now on the road to recovery. Mr- and Mrs. Raymond Kirkhasn and daughter, Rae Mona, and Mrs. J. C. Russell and daughter, Mar-jorie, Mar-jorie, spent the latter part of the week in Ephraim, visiting with Mr. and Mrs. D- W- Klrkham- Merlin Fowler, the 2-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Fowler, has been suffering for the past several days with infection, spreading from a boll. lie has been quite seriously ill, but Is doing nicely at the present time. Mrs. Vern Webb entertained at a prettily appointed dinner on Sunday, Sun-day, complimentary to her hus band's birthday anniversary. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Ileber C, Webb and son, Lynn, Mr. and Mrs. Heber , J. Webb and son, Wayne, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Evans, the honored guest and the hostess, Mrs. Melvln Reynolds of Provo, spent Wednesday in Lehl as a guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Johnson. Ia the sports section of the Deseret News Tuesday evening there appeared a picture of Fay and Ferd Evans of this city, who are aid to be two of the crack shooters shoot-ers on the "Y" basketball squad. The article below the picture read, "Salt Lake fans are eagerly awaiting await-ing the appearance here Friday and Saturday nights of the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young University basketball team, twice conquerers of the Wichita Henry's national A A. U. champions. Two of the crack shooters of the "T" squad are Ferd and Fay Evans of Lehi, members of the Intermountaln A A. U. title holding five from that town last season. Both are exceptionally accurate ac-curate marksmen with the leather sphereold." Ferd is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Evans and Fay is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Evans. Both boys were stars on the local high school teams, when they were In high school and seem to have kept up the good work. We compliment these boys and are proud of them, for we are sure they j help to put Lehl on the map in sport circles. Mack Davis, ton of Mr. and Mrs. L M. Davis, entertained friends at a dinner party at bis home Wednesday Wednes-day evening in honor of Ralph Worlton, who left Thursday morning morn-ing for Mt. Pleasant, where he is attending the Wasatch Academy. The guests included: Ralph Worlton, Worl-ton, MIbs Beth Jackson, Fred Nelson Nel-son of American Fork, Miss CJeo Royle, Keith Davis, Miss Betty Halstrom of American Fork, Mack Davis and Miss Violet Clark of Pleasant Grove. o Hospital Notts Dick Wells, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Wells, cut his arm while sleigh riding, Monday evening. Seven stitches were necesary to close the wound. M. in the Memorial building to hear the financial report re-port and to elect five directors to serve for the ensuing year, and transact such other business as may come before the meeting. 1-14-lp Cedar Valley Bus Unable To Go Though Tuesday One of the worst blizzards that has visited this section of the country for some time past occur-ed occur-ed Tuesday, causing drifts which blocked many of the roads leading Into town- The school busses came through Tuesday morning but during the day the wind kept blowing, piling the snow and it was impossible for them to return Tuesday night. Places were provided by the school for the students, who remained in Lehl during the night, Many of them stayed at the homes of friends. The mail carrier was unable to go through to the Cedar Valley and Fairfield and Topliff route , Tuesday. Tues-day. Snow plows were busy Wednesday Wednes-day morning on the roads, making them available for the busses and other cars to travel through Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon an4 evening. Anderson of Sandy announce the arrival of a lovely baby" daughter, born Tuesday, Tues-day, January 5. This is the second child In the Anderson family and all concerned are doing nicely. Mrs. Anderson was formerly Miss Myra Thomas of this city. She taught school here a few years ago and has many friends who will be very pleased to read this announcement. Marriage Announced Miss Velma FJeld of this city, and Mr. Dell Asay of Draper were married in the Salt Lake temple on vveanesaay, January e. They are receiving countless wishes for future fu-ture haplness and success from their many friends. Mr. and Mrs. Andrew FJeld, parents of the bride, accompanied tnem to the temple to be married. Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Noyes entertained en-tertained at a prettily appointed wedding supper at their home in Salt Lake City Immediately following follow-ing the cereomny for the young couple.
