Word has been received by relatlvee from Elsinore, California, of the birth of a baby girl to Mrs. Herbert Hales. Mrs. Hales was formerly Miss Emma Asher of this city. Mrs. Maroni Winterton and two children of Magna, visited in Lehi over the week-end at the A W. Davis home. Keith Davis returned home with them, having visited in Magna for a week with Allen Winterton. D. W. Christofferson arrived here Wednesday from Iowa where he has recently graduated from the Palmer School of Chiropractic. Mr. Christofferson Christ-offerson will remain for a ten days visit with his brothers, Alexand E. I. Christofferson and also other relatives rela-tives and friends. The Fifth wardRelief Society held an afternoon social Tuesday at , the home of Mrs. Thomas Clark. The time iwas enjoyably spent with games and a mixed program, after which refreshments were served to sixty-five ladies. Miss Virginia Lawrence of Twin Falls, Idaho, visited here last week at the J. F. Fagan home the guest of Lucile and Myrl Fagan. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Fagan and family and Mies Virginia Lawrence motored to Salt Lake and spent the day visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Duwayne Anderson. Mr. E. P. Thornton and son, Max, of Delta, Mrs. Joseph Cox, and eon, Antone, of Cedar City, and. Miss Gennevieve Thornton, of Salt Lake City, were the week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. E.-B. Garrett. They ar rived here Thursday to attend the reunion of the Thornton famiily held at Saratoga resort. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Bradshaw, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Bradshaw, Mr. and Mrs. Art Beck, Mr. and Msr. Franklin Bradshaw and Mrs. Margaret Bushman Bush-man formed a party and motored to Salt Lake Sunday where they met with other members of the family and enjoyed dinner at Liberty Park. The party was complimentary to Mr. J. F. Bradshaw, it being hte birthday anniversary, anni-versary, i Saturday evening the Misses Lucile Bateman, Lela Dunsdon, Verland Evans, Eudon Evans, Eulala Clark and Mildred Walker entertained at a prettily appointed miscellaneous ehow-er ehow-er in compliment to Mrs. Rex Holm-stead, Holm-stead, formerly Miss Gene Evans, a bride of last week. The rooms were decorated with summer flowers in the various shades. The evening was spent in playing games, followed by the serving of a delicious lunch. The bride was presented with many lovely gifts. The guests numbered twenty- five. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Anderson returned re-turned home Friday from a two weeks trip to the Northwestern States. They visited over the Fourth in Boise, Idaho, with their son, Dr. L. D. Anderson, after which they visited the impotrant cities in Idaho, Oregon. Washington, Montana and Wyoming, and through Yellowstone National Park. They report among the wonderful wonder-ful sights were the great wheat fields in Pendleton, Oregon, and the highway high-way for 100 miles along the Columbia river. Camp 2 of the Daughters of the Pioneers held their meeting last Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs I. L. Lott.' The following program pro-gram was given, after wljlch a dainty lunch was served:. The opening song was "Utah, Queen of the West" and prayer was offered by Mrs. Jane Gilchrtet "Come, Come, Te Saints," was sung by the grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. John Brown. The little tots were dressed in Pioneer costumes. Miss Juliet Lott gave a reading and Mrs. Eldon Brown sang a vocal solo. The life history of Mr. and Mrs. John Brown was given by Mrs. I. L. Lott A Blano solo was given by Mrs. Ralph Hutchings, followed by the closing pons, and John Brown offered the closing prayer. Mrs. John Spiers of Salt Lake, is visiting here for tea days with her daughter, Mrs. Alex Christofferson and family. Miss Berniece Russon of Provo, visited home Saturday and Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lott A. Russon. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Peterson and family of Spanish Fork and Mrs. Wilsoa Lee of American Fork, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gilchrist. Lieutenant and Mrs. Robert Sharp and baby of State College. Pennsyla-vania, Pennsyla-vania, arrived here laet week for a two months visit in this city with (Mr. Sharp's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Sharp. The Misses Nelda Clark, Levada East and Geneva Frank entertained the Junior Girls and their teachers of the Fifth ward M. L A at a Saratoga party Tuesday evening. The usual diversions were enjoyed by twelve girls. Mr. and Mrs. John Brown, Mrs. I. L. Lott with Mr. and Mrs. Parley Austin of American Fork motored to Payson Monday where they spent the day with Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Brown at the Arrowhead resort. Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Allred motored to Provo Monday evening to attend a family reunion held In honor of the forty fourth wedding anniversary of Mrs. Allred's parents, Mr. and Mrs. David H. Jones. . ; Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Stoker and daughters, Alta and Carol, arrived here Thursday from Sugar City. Idaho, for a few weeks visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Davis and Mr. and Mrs. John Stoker. ' Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Hansen and daughters, Lucy and Alene, of Wendell, Wen-dell, Idaho, were visiting here for a few days last week with Mrs. -Hansen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fox. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Dunkley of Salt Lake, were also visitors at the Fox home on Friday. Fred Oeterloh left today (Thursday) (Thurs-day) for St. Paul, Minnesotta, where he will finish his mission for the L. D. S. Church. Elder Osterlon was In the mission field thirteen months when he took sick and had to return home. Shortly after returning home he underwent an operation for ap pendicitis. He was very desirous of .finishing his mission and as soon as his health would permit has returned to complete his work. The ladies of the I. D. Club and a few close friends of Mrs. Lizzie Shaw Child entertained at a shower in her home last Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Joseph E. Smith. Cu flowers attratcively decorated the rooms. A program and social chat were the diversions of the afternoon, followed by the serving of a tasty lunch to thirty guests. Mrs. Child re ceived many useful and lovely gifts. Mrs Cyril Anderson Ander-son of Provo was also visiting with Mrs. Powell on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Underwood "and son, Paul, of Salt Lake, visited here Sunday with Mrs: Underwood's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jackson. Mrs. Austin Gudmundsen and children child-ren of Salt Lake, were visiting here last week at the Bishop S. I. Goodwin home. Mr. Gudmundsen and Bishop Goodwin spent last week at Fish Lake, returning home Saturday evening with a nice catch of fish. Mr. and Mrs. B. G. Jones of Los Angeles, Calif., were Lehi visitors last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Allred. Dr. Jones Is Mrs. All- red's brother. Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Misses Gayle Larsen and Marjorie Boley, who are attending school In Salt Lake, visited hope over, the week-end with Miss Lersen's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Larsen. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar L. Holmstead, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Holmstead and Boyd Holmstead left Monday morning for a motor trip through Southern Utah. They will visit the canyons, park, etc. la that part of the country before returning. William Dunsdon, Jack Merrett, E. J. Christofferson and Allen Bateman returned home last week from Montana, Monta-na, where they have been employed for the past six weeks sheering sheep. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne SJmith of Springville, called Sunday for a short visit with. Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Smith.
