In this case, it's also a sign of something else - Leave Your Brain at the Door. Just in case you missed it, this is a zombie movie (and that was zombie humor). And it's a great zombie movie at that. It has all the elements that make zombie movies great; let me list them just in case you are unaware. The list begins with Zombie Movies Are: silly, campy, predictable, shocking, gory, gory, and gory. Did I mention gory? Yea, Johnny Cash is cool. The movie begins with a normal day, in a normal neighborhood, in normal America. ; Everyone is happy, .waving, laughing, joking, "see you tomorrow1' kinda normal. We're being set up for the nastiness the next morning. - That's the other thing about this movie; you will see every scare, every plot twist and every bloody decapitation coming from a million miles away. Normally, that would make this movie worthless, in this case it makes every goose bump predictably delicious -another sign of a great zombie movie. The next day begins with, well, gore. Our heroine wakes up to find her daughter daugh-ter is a zombie... which leads to, well, gory-ness. She escapes (big surprise) and finds as she's driving out of her neighborhood that it's not so normal anymore - everything every-thing has gone to heck in a zombie hand basket. She eventually ends up, with a few others who managed to survive, at the mall. Isn't that where you would go to spend your last few hours on earth before , being chewed to death by your piano teacher? This ragtag bunch has to try and work together in order to survive. Fight zombies. zom-bies. , Learn to understand and appreciate one another and their talents along with their shortcomings. Fight zombies. In the process they have to think critically in order to problem solve their way out of the situation. Fight zombies. And enjoy their last few hours on earth with some earthly pleasures. pleas-ures. Fight zombies. Finally, the movie ends with... it really real-ly wouldn't ruin anything if I gave up the entire ending, but I won't. Like I said, no surprises in this movie, only fun-lovin' zombie killin'. Needless to say, the group does make a break for a safer place than the mall and get to kill more zombies, mostly en-masse en-masse and with a chainsaw. You yea, nothing kills zombies like a chainsaw. This movie is fantastically bloody and incredibly funny. There are tense moments but they are foreseeable from miles (minutes) before they happen. It is meant to be exactly what it is, a campy remake of a campy movie. If you love good, clean, bloody zombie movies you will want to own this one. It is well worth full price and the popcorn that you'll chow down while listening to Mr. Cash sing his way into your heart.
