These lighted displays are the residents' way of wishing their neighbors, and all passersby, a merry Christmas. Many families enjoy spending an evening together, touring the town and the viewing the Christmas lights! This newspaper can point you in the direction of some of the more spectacular outdoor displays. The following homes have been selected by members of the Beautification Committee in each neighborhood as winning the "Holiday Decoration of the Year" award. Each of these homes is well worth viewing. (Note: Not all neighborhoods had submitted winning homes by press time.) Old Fort: Scott and Cheryl Goodman, 120 S. 300 East. Mud Hole: Terry and Shellie Carlson, 1003 W. 1000 North. Big Springs: Scott and Callie Winters, 791 E. 1100 North. Grovecreek: Howard and Georgia Davis, 1093 Grovecreek Dr. Scratch Gravel: Daryl and Kathy Mastin, 1237 E. 830 South. Part of the fun of looking at Christmas lights is in the driving around together. Letting the kids choose the next turn left or right can add to the fun. Wandering around can bring plenty of surprises and pleasures, too. Here are a few homes and streets that we discovered:. discov-ered:. vicinity of 635 North and Canyon View Drive has many lighted homes. Other nice areas include Center St. between 600 and 700 East, 1600 West from 920 N. to 1010 N., 530 West at 1100 North. Not to be missed is the Guy Fugal home at 590 W. 1100 North, every tree in this large yard is covered with different colored lights. Travel north on 600 West at 1100 North for more nicely decorated homes. Several "hidden treasures" were discovered in our wanderings, the Jensen home at 483 N. 100 W. features music in addition to lights, the Brereton home at 625 S. Luck Dr., and a home at the end of the road by the intersection of 1670 North and 1210 West. We also enjoyed the lovely clear lights on a home on 1050 East at about 100 South. When driving around Pleasant Grove you really can't go wrong. There are plenty of well-decorated homes to see and to "ooh" and "aah" at. Finding your own lighted "Christmas treasures" is an enjoyable way to spend an evening, and you don't have to travel far from home to do it. r.t I . . Photo by Kayln Secretan Front.
