Pfe Kiwanis Club donates glasses to young student I By Kalyn Secretan Robert Baggett, a four-yedr-old member of the Head Start program received a new pair of glasses glass-es J as a gift from the Kiwanis Club recently. ,yle Thacker, Chairman of the Youth Services Committee and Lisa Harris, President of the Kiwanis Club, made the presentation presenta-tion at the Head Start school. Robert needs the glasses at school, but he has lost thijee pair of glasses so far, so the director, Glenna Mijiirbrook ask the Kiwanis Club if they could donate glasses. This pair will be kept at the school. Robert was a little; lit-tle; nervous trying them on in front of everybody, but was anxious to put them on when everyone moved away from the circle. The Kiwanis Club has been assisting the program this year and will contribute con-tribute as needed for Christmas. The club helps with the Foster Family Dinner Christmas dinner, they sponsor the Key club at the high school, give scholarships, take charge of the Children's Parade during dur-ing Strawberry Days and sponsor the Hope of America program at the elementary ele-mentary schools. Becky Walters is the teacher at the Head Start program and Heather Eberle the assistant teacher. Clint Meeks and Jen Veenker have chosen to marry in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Friday, Nov. 16. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Veenker of Lindon. The prospective groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Meeks, also of Lindon. A reception will honor them that same evening from 7:30 to 9:30 at the Northhampton House, 198 W. 300 North, American Fork. All friends and relatives rela-tives are invited to attend. The bride-to-be is a graduate grad-uate of Pleasant Grove High School. She attended Bon Losee Hair Academy and works as a cosmetologist. cosmetolo-gist. For her service projects, she volunteered at an elementary ele-mentary school, served as a stake youth leader for girls camp and volunteered at a physical therapy clinic.
