Party caucuses will be held Monday Utahns have already voted in their first-ever Presidential Primary election, but next week, local political action gets underway for the upcoming general election. Party caucuses, meetings of members of local voting districts, dis-tricts, will be held Monday, March 27, at locations throughout through-out the county. Local parties have designated designat-ed centralized meeting locations loca-tions for most communities. Those attending will divide up into their individual voting districts dis-tricts to elect district officers -a chairman, vice-chairman and other officers as needed -- and to elect delegates for the party's county convention and the state convention. These delegates will decide who will be the party's nominee for posts where more than one party member has filed as a candidate. Everyone is invited to participate partic-ipate in the caucus of the political polit-ical party of his or her choice. Delegates and voting precinct officers serve for two years, until the next general election. Utah Valley State College is experience explosive growth with currently over 20,000 students stu-dents attending. They offer a comprehensive community college col-lege curriculum combines with a state college curriculum, which includes 13 baccalaureate degrees. New Vice President for Strategic Planning Brad Winn has visited several of the city councils in the county and plans to attend the rest. He is seeking comment from the public both citizens and community leaders to determine where UVSC should head in the future. After the residents respond, the answers will be compiled and representatives will meet with community leaders to look at the needs and possible answers. "We will create a revised mission mis-sion statement," said Winn. "It will contain both short-term and long-term goals." Four questions the citizens may want to address are: 1. What are the two or three major issues and concerns facing fac-ing UVSC now and in the short term? 2. What are the two or three biggest problems the college faces in meeting the needs and expectations of the community? 3. What are we doing which we should do differently or better? bet-ter? 4. What are we missing? What two or three things should we be doing which we are not? Those wishing to respond to those questions or others may write to Winn at UVSC, 800 W.
