Nicole Dobsoa Kamila Dostalova This last week at American Fork High School, the administration adminis-tration decided it was time to do something about the dangerous atmosphere by ticketing those who didn't park between two yellow lines in a real parking spot. Student drivers had mixed feelings on this decision. Colin Magleby, junior at American Fork, said, "I think it was fair, because they have to fit as many cars as possible in the parking lot, and people parking in the wrong places makes it difficult and occasionally occasion-ally dangerous to drive there." American Fork, said she understands under-stands why they made this decision, deci-sion, but added, "the fact that there is so much ice in the parking park-ing lot, it's almost impossible to tell if you are parking in a correct stall. It's not fair unless they are willing to help change the problem to make it easier to see the stalls." Leah Christen, junior at American Fork, has mixed feelings. feel-ings. "Yeah I think that is fair," she said. "Some people park taking two spots and other times people actually park blocking other people getting out, but sometimes the snow covers the spots and nobody knows where the lines are. In those cases I don't think it is fair." As you can see, many students stu-dents believe that giving tickets to those who aren't parking correctly is fair unless it's impossible im-possible to tell where the parking park-ing stalls are. When the parking park-ing lot is covered in snow or ice, students believe that it's not their fault for parking where they do. Leah went on to say, "It's the school, or district's, fault. We shouldn't get ticketed for first of all, driving in a very unsafe parking lot; and second, we can't see the lines. How can we park when we can't see the lines?" Chelsey Clark, junior at American Fork, believes that it's both the students' and the district's fault. "If the district would have plowed the parking park-ing lot then we wouldn't have to park so crazy, but ... kids should be smarter," she said. "If there is already two lines of cars don't park behind them." 'f""fiig'""" , " pijlPIU.OTll1HMM . - - i inn i i i urn iM .. J Call for an Appointment 756-8686 . v I Dr. Bruce D. Richards v 933 F.
