The American Fork Community Com-munity Literacy Center is located in the basement of the American Fork Public Library. . The program is designed to improve basic reading skills and is provided as a free public service. Under the direction of executive director Richard Rowley and director of instruction Lorraine Vance, students receive hands-on tutoring from qualified community volunteers, including National Honor Society students at American Ameri-can Fork High School. Middle Ages fun benefits today's kids The Shire of Arrows' Flight, a local branch of the Society for Creative Anachronism, a middle ages re-enactment group is sponsoring a Medieval Festival to benefit the Toys for Tots" program. The general public is invited Saturday, Nov. 13, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m at the American Ameri-can Fork Senior Citizen Center, 54 E Main. Those who attend may watch fair maidens cheering on knights fighting in armor, rapier fighting (Three Musketeer style), Medieval games, Medieval arts and sciences display, and Medieval children's activities. Merchants will be selling related items. Attendees are asked to bring a new unwrapped toy to donate and step back in time and experience "the middle ages as they should have been."
